Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/06/13)

Tried out this Rom and works great but for some reason at times it frezzes repetitively especially when I'm on the browser that when it starts to glitch and restart the most

Now I can't remember off hand but like Gus's are like 19000 kb and redit is 9000kb and most of J6's are like 9000kb. Now I know not much but does make a diff. These #'s are off the pc I know they are like 15-20mb versus low ones at around 10mb. Same thing add the brighter colors and stuff vs a plain stock one, it uses more ram. Or like the light turn it down your battery lasts longer vs when up drain is quicker, the program is still the same size for backround light.

Yes, but at the same time each time you add another app that you are theming the size gets bigger. I see what you and slayer are saying, but it has to be an apples to apples comparison.

If one theme has just framework and systemui, and another has framework, systemui, contacts, settings and messaging (just as an example) it will naturally be larger.

So I am convinced the lag for me was stemmed from voltage control like others have said. Since I reinstalled it from the play store yesterday I have had no lag.

I see that, but if larger then using up more resources, gonna slow things down, right?

Did you try uot yet? I tried all kinds of diff settings and stuff, no go, can't figure it out?

Sometime's have to try different things to see what works for you! It might not work for someone else though!

Is anyone using UOT Kitchen? I try loading framework and system and keep getting error? For old stuff too? I must just be doing something wrong? If someone can let me know how they get it to work?
I get this

The red is what is doing it and can't figure out how to fix it:confused:

This is just to change status bar to red and add yellow text in it, that is it only!

The same crap happens to me too, I've tried multiple times, I've basically given up on UOT since I can't get an answer from Bloodawn on what the possible fix may be...

They either changed something in UOT or I don't know? I tried old stuff and old theme files so it's not something Blood did. Something else is up:confused:

I don't know that to be true since the final version is based on the Stock Boost Rom and not the Admire port, so it's very possible that something has changed as far as he's concerned, but since I can't get an answer, I've basically said screw UOT...

I know but I tried to use uot for the hell of it with the 3.6 frame and sys files and no go! I also tried the files from J6's old themes from the admire and still no go, its not just the new rom I can't get it to work off old rom files either, not that if it cooked it up I can put it on the new rom it just wont cook anything for me!!!

Lets say I'm running on 3.6 on another phone and want to use UOT for that old rom it won't even work for that for me, you understand? So an old version has nothing to do with this new one!

Like I said I have another phone running 3.6 and when I use those old files from the admire based rom for my other phone it is still a no go. So unless Blood came over my house and changed my other phone without me knowing it has nothing to do with the new rom! LOL LOL!

Bad news bro. Uot worked just fine for me.

The ones I left alone were lockscreen, window, fonts and bootanimation. I got no error.

All I tried to do was the status bar and text color in status bar nothing else? What did you do and choose in the file upload page? I have tried it now 30+ different ways and no go each time:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

What about me man??

Just trying to keep the thread on topic and stop cluttering up the ct mod thread with theme stuff.

And it don't matter ant ways. I spoke too soon. I had used the 3.68 files by mistake. They created a theme just fine. I just redid it with the 3.75 ones and got the same error as you guys. So, no idea what the deal is... lmao

heres the part that sticks out to me in the log

<and then this in the systemui part>

arrays.xml is making systmeui fail to compile cause when it is decompiled shit in that file changes to:

Code:
<reference-array

when it should be

Code:
<string-array

probably cause I used a new apktool for making 3.75.

if you guys just upload framework-res.apk and not systemui you won't have this error, but of course you won't have a themed systemui either. you can probably use the systemui from 3.68 for the kitchen and then port the changes over from it to the new apk, but if you could do that you might as well of manually themed it to began with lol.

The system files from 3.68 aren't working in the kitchen either, I think it's because they recently put in a new apktool for the kitchen and that's what is messing up our creations, tried looking for a way to contact them, but so far I don't see any... :(

Now the question is: How do we fix this crap for the kitchen??

Doing it manually for now. :P
I haven't been turning in a long time.
I don't think many people liked mine. So I just stopped making themes for the forums.
But manually is always great to do.

so how do you reinstall Voltage Control? I go to play store to Voltage control and I cant even choose to uninstall :/ how can I do it?

Have to use a file explorer or titanuim backup to get rid of it then reinstall a new on.

well I changed the governor to "performance" and will try it like that, so far so good hopefully the phone wont freeze while i try to play Angry Birds Star Wars xD that's when it usually freezes

Try that and see, everyones works differently. I like min/max myself. Have to try what works best for your needs. I also use CPUMaster pro myself, never even tried voltage control ever, just me though!

Thanks Blood! I am going to give this one a try next weekend when I am off WORK! (I found a job).

Skipped 3.68 entirely, and have still been using CM7 happily, but this one sounds Awesome.

I am downloading it now. I can hardly wait until Friday!

hey i was wondering if i could run this with the non extention kernel.
ill look the name up real quick.
the kato kernel with no extension.

Well I guess most people that were making themes for the Prevail and other phones are forced to stop at this point because it just takes too much work to do it manually...

thats lazy talk. you can cross over the older png's and inject them to the new framework and work from there. just making sure everything is right. i used to do it manually. about 60-70% of it.

I used to have CPU tuner but one update an it stopped working and force closed automatically, had to unintal and obtain battery saver. Of course that was while I was running ctmod 3.68 or whatever the version before this one was lol will try again tho thanks!
