Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/06/13)

This was a fresh install, but after I flashed the Multifix.zip file, I noticed problems.
When I use WiFi, it's connected, but the icon does not turn white indicating anything, and when I have WiFi turned on, I was unable to connect to the Play store. I turned off the WiFi and then the Play store would work fine. It's almost as if when WiFi is turned on its blocking everything from connecting.
Any Ideas?
 
Just to verify this I tried a few things, but no go. I have a working WiFi connection I use all the time and it is currently working, but everytime I turn on WiFi on the phone, no connections can be made to the Web or the store at all. The phone says its connected to it, but the icon stays grey, does not change/whiten.

If I turn off the WiFi, then the phone works fine with the regular data connection.
This happened after I flashed the Multifix.zip file.

Any help appreciated.

Restart your router and modem
 
I love the look and feel of ctmod, but I have two problems, both possibly related. Pandora radio and browser, the Boat one, make the phone horribly slow. It took pandora almost five minuets to get going, which didn't happen on stock, and almost three full minutes to notice that I hit pause. Typing this out from the phone is also incredibly laggy, each letter takes about five seconds to pop up. Everything else seems to run perfectly, even actual call quality has gotten better. Any suggestions?
 
Chec k : Settings>>>>Applications>>>>Running Applications and see what runs and how much mem you have free..... Maybe there runs too much stuff in the background.....
 
Ya I am having the same lag on the browser, even after the multi fix. It will freeze completely and hot boot then come back after a minute or so. Also it seems that when I hit back it is not closing the app. I check in task manager and they are still running.

Edit: maybe I just got a corrupt download I may just start over.
 
hello all. Just recently obtained a samsung Prevail the other day. The phone was originally on FF19 when i got it. I used Odin to root and put CWM on the phone. Found CTmod and used all the guides in there to partition my 16GB SD card, (class4) got that done, flashed the rom, all was well. Now I dunno if its just me, but the phone was running hot for a while. Its ok now, I was using 3g, and sprint sucks in my area, so i think now that im on wifi is why its not so hot anymore. anyway. been trying to overclock it with the voltage app, and no matter what, even if i just bump it up to 825 it doesnt like it and reboots. anyone got an ideas? think this phone just doesnt want to do it?

not everyone can overclock to the same frequency. if you set it at one and it reboots then try a lower one till it runs fine.

Alrighr, the only thing that's still not cooperating is the typing lag, but it seems to be only a few websites, rather than all of them...it annoyingly includes this one.
 
Try a different keyboard...... I use the Swift3.... works great, fast, supports voice ( I even paid for that one ! )

i actually been testing this rom since its the final release.

installed, i did have that same problem u had though with it.

im not sure what was added to the new version, but messing around with it a few hrs and my gosmspro and alotta small apps including the browser began running laggy also. rebooted, reflashed FF19, etc, nothing worked.

browser wouldnt run certain website or will just hang and freeze up causing me to reboot manually or wait a good 3 mins for whatever app to crash..

ive noticed the prob for this new rom lied in the S03BD file.

file is located in:
[HIGH]/etc/init.d/S03BD[/HIGH]

I Removed it fully from my phone with ROOT EXPLORER..

Rebooted phone.

Once rebooted,

tested my apps, browser, etc, that were previously hanging and causing probs and things are running normally and working fine again.

no lag on browser. all sites and apps working.

tested with boat browser and maxthon

not sure what the S03BD file fully does since i really didnt take a look @ it

also noticed the S04optiflags was removed from this version. Not sure if its needed.

but removing S03 may help you out.

also maybe BD can take a look @ it and c whats causing the issue with the browser and some apps on certain devices.

im pretty sure some goodies are needed in that file that was added.

and i only removed it to get by without lag on my browser for now and it is working on my device..

maybe you can try that until a proper fix for the code gets sorted out.
