Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/06/13)

Hey Blood just a quick update dude...EVEYTHING is working perfect on this thing now. I love it. I even was able to go back in like you told me with the ApkInstaller and get back some of the apps I wanted and fixed the things we talked about.

THANKS for all your help and the great rom.

My market kept getting a Server Error whenever i tried to open it. I tried reinstalling vending and market update apks that came with ctmod 2.4 and then installed an older version (from shabbymod 0.9 loaded) and then i tried clearing data and cache. None of which made any difference. I googled "service error android market" and found one saying that it was caused by having to many apps. I uninstalled 10 apps/games and reinstalled market and it finally connected. The only thing I don't understand is why this only happened now, I've had more apps on before and never had this problem.

Just wanted to make it clear that it had nothing to do with ctmod.

That is wired that, that happened but it's working now Right?

I even went back in and re-installed and handful of apps that Bloodawn removed. It went smooth.

First of all Love the rom, So i'm new to this just flashed ctmod 2.4 the other day and just went to use the camera for the first time using the launcher in the menu, Opens up and says Camera not found. After closing if i try to reopen, i get the standard Sorry! The application Camera (process com.android.camera) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. Should i try reflashing ctmod?

flashing it again should fix it

you may want to delete your ctmod zip and download it again, in case the one you have is messed up.

I had to wipe my phone and start over from scratch, I'm trying to install CTMod 2.4 then install Darktremor A2SD after that. Been up and down the forum, can't figure out where I'm going wrong.

1) Install via Odin EE14 Stock
2) Install via Odin EJ06 Gingerbread Rooted Image with CWM5 made by Chin Checka
3) Installed CTMod 2.4 in CWM successfully (upon several attempts sometimes the Dock was present at the bottom home screen other times not)
4) Installed Darktremor A2SD step by step, but the SD Card did not appear to ever format itself.

I tried this over and over again about 7 times and I cant get the card to format. At least I don't think it's formatting, the A2SD GUI won't let me change locations, just bounces back to the existing setting, so I don't think it ever formatted.

Not sure what I did wrong.

what makes you think your card isn't partitioned? if it wasn't or if the script was messed up the A2SD GUI would give you some error message when you tried opened it

If I click on move apps to SD or try to move the Dalvik to SD within the GUI it just tells me there is not enough room, and I have no apps installed yet and I partitioned it to 1024MB. So ok, maybe it did partition it, but I have no idea how to tell.

Something else I noticed is that after I install A2SD and reboot, the phone goes back into recovery mode each time after the install. I have to turn it off and then back on again after that to boot up.

rebooting twice after doing something in recovery has been happening since cwm came out.

make sure you have the a2sd made for prevail that can be found here. the version from xda can only be used with cm7 by hroark.

I only download from these forums. I'm trying it all over again, I'll report right back in a few minutes.

oh one more thing for a2sd. if you use cwm to create your partition you have to format it too. got to mounts and storage (i don't know if it's necessary but I mount ext first) and format ext.

Still the same problem. I redid everything, downloaded a bunch of apps, but it still will not let me move any apps to the sd card and also the Dalvik will not move there either. It is not giving me any error messages, it just simply wont move any apps or the Dalvik to the ext.

When you Odin your phone back to normal stock, does that reformat and get rid of any ext partitions that were there before?

no, i do not believe it does. Once you are back to stock, just use the menu to go to settings, storage, unmount sd card, erase sd card. that should wipe the partitions and reformat it to original. Then go into cwm and partition it, and format it as stated above. when I am at this stage, I always do a factory reset from cwm for good measure, since i haven't installed anything yet. anyone, please correct me if i am wrong.

mvaness: going on your suggestion, I'm not following what he is saying on that page, he states that "If you do not have a partitioned SD card. THERE IS NO CHANGE. Don't worry about upgrading"

what does this mean?

Do I install the new kernal without partitoning my card, or I do not install the new kernal at all.

I'm confused here....

I just went back to ee14 stock, then to EJ06 Gingerbread Rooted Image with CWM5 made by Chin Checka, and I'm staying here for now until I know exactly what's going on.
