I didn't know Boost had a GSM network! Wait, maybe you're thinking of their iDen network... Which works off the Nextel network and uses sim cards.
 
Im having trouble with blue tooth. when ever i try to transfer something from my computer its says "a socket operation was attempted to reach unreachable network".

How far away do you have the phone from the computer. Those blue smurfs can't reach very far :D
 
I ran into probably a silly problem. After i downloaded 2.3, I extracted it to my desktop and I don't see a zip file? Just 2 folders. META-INF and System.

And now i found it. lol
 
I noticed the boot animation which is pretty rad. Much cooler than the black screen. So i'm curious to know if that is now able to be changed to say android vs apple boot ani?
 
First off after a little trouble I got this CTmod2.3 working, and What a difference it makes! The phone is screaming fast. =)

So the 2 questions I have are(and these might be noob Q's, sorry):
1)How can I select a wallpaper outside quickpics? I want a live wallpaper but can't seem to find the ones I downloaded through menu>wallpaper. They are installed, verified through settings>applications.
2)I want to change my boot animation =) What do I need?

To set up live wallpapers you will need to put the live wallpaper .apk's back into the system folder. Refer to the OP for the uninstalled apps zip and I believe there are instructions there.

also ...i tryed messing around with a busybox app..and somehow screwed my phone up..had to be walked through fixing it

My bad, regardless, on CDMA now.

My daughters non-android CDMA Boost phone is not having problems with MMS so it's my phone and not the network apparently.
 
Im new to Android OS and this site. But Ive rooted my Prevail, plus running the CTMod. Should I be running a ram manager or am i just fooling myself and slowing down my device.

I may be late to answering this, but in order to go back to the stock camera, I ended up renaming Camera.apk from the RemovedAppsGB.zip to MiuiCamera.apk and just moving it into the /system/apps directory of CTMod2.3.zip. Then, I flashed the ROM like normal and it installed the stock camera as if it was the MIUI one.

Just a tip...
 
hey blood...whats the difference between download manager and download crutch?..
whenever i download something it brings up both of them in the which to use default menu..are they the same? can i get rid of one?

also can i use photobucket instead of quickpic?
 
oh yeah and i seen a system app called ..pico tts ..what purpose is this for? ..... just curious ..thanks


how can i replace stock browser with dolphin..right now i have both..

Download crutch allows you to download files that wouldn't normally download using android. For example you can install an .apk but can't download it without installing. Download manager is a way of observing and maybe managing your download queue. Not sure on the management aspect never toyed with it. Two totally different purposes though and I'm not sure if download manager us required but you certainly wanna keep download crutch.

yes you can delete the stock browser, if your going to do that you can delete download manager too

does photobucket play video too? if so then yea you can replace quickpic with it

picotts is part of text to speech, google navigation and shit like that use it

Pico is the text to speach engine... used with navigation for example...

I would leave the stock browser on the phone... just remove it as the default in applications... the next time when opening web thru a link you will be asked to set one as default... choose dolphin.
