Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/06/13)

If you are using the Facebook widget then yes it draws more battery life. Look under settings>about phone> battery usage. It will tell you what's been sucking it dry.

Just wanted to say thanks to bloodawn for the great job. 3g is working better then ever. Downloading stuff on my laptop while tethered to phone use to be slow... remember dial up? well it was slower then that. Haven't had any problems with wi-fi or gps either. In fact I haven't had problems with anything so far ooops hope i didn't just jinx myself lol.

CTMod 2.4 is great, like the changes. Every thing was realy fast until i install
ed Flash 10.2 now my browser speed is lagy even when not loading video. Is Flash something we should just stay away from with Prevails.

what browser are you using?

i usually use Dolphen HD with flash set to on demand, if you have it always on it will lag

Anyone else having this problem with CTMod 2.4?

My screen does not turn off. The display dims after a few seconds of inactivity but it does not shut completely. This causes battery drain obviously. The only way to turn the screen off is to press the power button. The automatic shut off is not working.

I tried getting into Settings> Display and change the display timeout from 30 seconds (the default) to 15 seconds and when that didn't work back to 30 seconds and again with 1 min. The timeout is not working at all.

I'm not opposed to a complete wipe and reinstall. Suggestions folks?

I haven't seen anybody have that problem before, did you remove anything from the rom?

really all you can do is try reflashing it

For those having battery issues, especially after flashing any custom rom, it is good to have as a practice, to condition your device's battery. Hopefully this method will work for you with noticeable results.

First fully charge your battery then reboot your phone into recovery. Using CWM go into Recovery>Advanced>Wipe battery stats, hit Yes. Reboot your phone.
Use your phone as you normally would until the battery dies completely. Once again charge your phone while the device is off to 100%.
Power on your phone and use it as normal.
IMPORTANT: Do not charge your phone until it dies. This method is to re-condition your battery and have better battery life. Might have to attempt this several times (3-4) to see results.

I do not have battery issues on my Prevail w/ CTMod 2.4 while I applied this method though I did with my OG Samsung GT 7" w/Overcome then tried this several times and it has improved the life of the Tab's battery immensely. Hope this works for you.

I reflashed and it stopped... or rather it started, locking automatically. I'm not sure what happened but I'm going to watch what I'm downloading that might cause this. Thanks Bloodawn.

i tryed re conditioning my battery ..that very same way..but i read in a post somewhere..it wouldnt work with newer lith. ion batteries..it only worked with old school nicad batteries..anyway not sure how true it is but even when i tryed it ..2-3 times..it didnt seem to help.

forgot that when i first made the rom i enabled status bar transparency. I just had to make the images transparent

flash this
CT2.4TransMod.zip

after your phone boots up go into Zeams settings, go into Workspace and disable Manage Wallpaper

Hi Bloodawn. First, thanks for your work on this. I wanted to post some screen shots. It looks great with the pipes wallpaper, but I was wondering if the black bars in the signal strength can be made transparent. It's more apparent in the butterfly pics. The wifi bars turn black too if the signal is not strong. Can those be made transparent. Again, thanks, and if I need to learn how to do this, I will. I saw you post about gb and uot kitchen with ctmod in another thread. Should I start there?

i can make them transparent for you later

the kitchen really wouldn't do any good for that since all it does is replace images with different ones instead of editing them

Thank you for posting this . I think this will help a lot of the new people who are having battery issues . I do this every 3-4 weeks and my battery life is 30 plus hours with moderate usage . Heavy usage is less of course but I'm happy with it . Extra batteries w/ charger and a car charger always come in handy too . :D

I didn't even think about it I bought a new battery a week after getting my prevail originally I got a 1800mA battery that seems to make a huge difference compared to the 1500mA stock too.

Can I get a seller or something? I don't want to buy a pos. There are quite a few different seller, don't want to blow my phone up haha

Had to look back through many pages of sales/purchases to find it the seller is replaypod another thing you can do if you have more than one prevail is buy a couple of extra batteries and buy a stand alone battery charger so you always have a full one if you need it or to take with you.

So I found out, in my case, by battery drain is due to the widgets I have. gtab simi clock and simple calendar. They update often, and eat up my juice. So be weary of using those apps.

My signal keeps cutting out completely about every ten minutes for about 10 seconds each time now. This started about a day after I loaded the rom. What can I do to fix this? PRL Version is 61007 atm

I also discovered that Odin no longer picks up that ive plugged into my computer... any ideas?
