Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/06/13)

go to the odin thread download and use the Gingerbread EJ06 Rooted with CWM

after thats finished boot into CWM and flash the rom

Loaded those files into Odin. That worked. Is that Gingerbread just a stock version from Boost? If I like this full stock version, can't I just un-install junk apps?

Thanks..... :)

Bloodawn,

I tried out CTMod 2.3 and your WP7 theme and really liked it. When 2.4 came out I loaded that and it hung (even waited overnight once) with KoumaKernal on the display, when I tried to move or rebuild my Dalvick cache either from A2SD or CWM 5. I had partitioned my SD card (8GB Class 10) to Ext 4, 1024 MB (or whatever CWM has that's close) , 0 B swap using CWM5 and then flashed the ROM. Didn't seem to matter if I had almost no apps loaded or lot's of apps loaded.

I started over, with Chin Checka's rooted stock GB EJ06 image with CWM5, used that to repartition EXT to 2048 MB. Then I did the factory wipe and reinstalled 2.4, WP7 and A2SD.

Bingo!

What an awesome ROM. Fast, sips memory and battery, and nothing ever crashes. Great job!

There's a beer or two headed your way. Thanks

You can un-install some of the "junk" apps there is a list of what is safe to remove and what isn't unfortunately there is a lot you can't get rid of in the stock GB without breaking something and bootlooping or freezing when it goes to access something that was removed from un-installing something else.

That is the point of these other roms some take the stock GB and improve upon it removing all of the junk and making it run stable without them others have a system all their own but also without the junk. Not to mention performance improvements built into the roms also.

Thanks man!

First off I want to say thanks for this ROM, works great. only problem I am having is that when I am using my Bluetooth everyone on other end says they hear themselves echo or a static fuzz going on. I have never had anyone tell me this before. I went from ct2.3 to 2.4. I put 2.4 on my phone two days ago, and since first call I have placed I have had everyone complaining. Is this common, or is there a fix. thanks

I have had the same problem about people hearing echos when I am in calls with them and they say sometimes its like talking to someone in a small tunnel.

Not at all with 2.3 or 2.1. I originally had 2.1, re-did it when I seen 2.3, now only with 2.4 have I had this complaint from my customers. Just like capn069 said too, sounds like in tunnel, echo or far away with scratching sounds....

weird, didn't think i changed anything in 2.4 related to bluetooth. I'll look into it

could you try flashing 2.4 again and see if the problem is still there? make a backup first tho so you can go back to all your settings in case reflashing doesn't fix it

Long time stalker, first time poster...

I've noticed the voicemail icon refuses to go away from my notification bar, even though I've cleared the voicemail. Naturally, I started googling the issue, and learned there is a setting under "settings / call settings / clear voicemail notification" After looking through the settings menus, there's no mention of anything voicemail related.

Another solution listed was to force close the Voicemail app and allow it it to reload, but there's nothing listed there either.

I ended up having to call myself from another phone to leave a new message, then listen to it and delete it, which cleared the icon. But it doesn't explain the lack of voicemail stuff in the phone. Is it just how the prevail is, or did something get removed in CTmod? I didn't see anything in the removed apps zipfile.

Anyways, it's probably something simple i missed. Thanks everybody.

I was bored and Odin'd my phone back to EJ06 Rooted, wiped all caches and my sd, reflashed 2.4, factory reset and wiped everything again to make sure nothing from previous installation survived, checked, still has echo effect for some reason. Im not a developer so I don't know what could cause it but I would like to let Bloodawn know that I still have the problem.

Voicemail is on Boost's end. It was probably just slow syncing with your phone

There aren't any apps for it, all the phone does when you call Voicemail is dial your number

Icon was on for 2 days. I'm job hunting, and i get crap signal in my area, so it was kinda annoying not knowing if i had a real voicemail.

Thanks a ton for your work, it kicks ass.

Blood is right.
I've had the same thing happen with all kinds of phones.
It's the server side. It seems to happen a lot more frequently if I don't let a message play all the way and I just hang up. It seems to get moved to "saved" messages but doesn't clear the server side flag that there is a new message.

Usually going back into voicemail and listening to a saved message, or deleting the offending message clears it right up

What annoys me is when I dont have service(both the good and bad about prepaid) and voicemail will pop up, you CAN NOT go to voice mail to clear it and the phone wont delete the notification.

Also, if you delete a voicemail and hang up before the icon disappears, sometimes it sticks. atleast that's what causes it for me
