Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/06/13)

could you try flashing 2.4 again and see if the problem is still there? make a backup first tho so you can go back to all your settings in case reflashing doesn't fix it

completely started from scratch. wiped phone and sd card, still same echo and static. right from very first call, so i odin back to stock no apps installed bone stock rooted no static or echo. re put 2.4 again first call same echo. people tell me it sounds like i am in a hallway or a tunnel a long way away from phone cant barely hear me. i found if i transfer, during a call, to phone then back to bluetooth the echo goes away completely for the other person but a static starts for them not me though. not real sure. I use my phone for my business and travel a lot. i am going to go back to 2.3 for now, unless any ideas? thanks again love your work and what all you devs have done for our phones.

Thanks for trying out a fresh install and letting me know

I'm really not sure why thats happening. I'll try to figure it out for the next update
 
yeah no problem thank you for all your work! very good stuff for our pre paid phones! we all really appreciate yours and all the devs hard work and time on these phones.
 
i've been testing your stuff for some time now, keeping up with each update, and i still notice major lag going on in just about every function

clicking stuff, doing stuff, all has a few seconds lag

while some stuff like using gps maps, etc.. has serious lag

i briefly remember using stock gb and it seemed to work ok, and i fondly remember using shabbymod .9 (with blue's honeycomb hybrid theme for example) and recalling just how zippy this phone can get, perhaps you can try to narrow down something is this batch that is dragging down response time??

just a thought, but other than lag no major complaints
 
Best ROM I've ever used! It's very stable, fast and responsive. That says a lot since all I've used was Myn Warm and Calkulin's EVIO 2/3 ROM on my HTC EVO 4G. I came over to Boost and this ROM is perfect for the phone and my needs.

I just wish I could get that damn magnifying glass button to work the way I want it to. :D The long press to bring up the voice search function takes some getting used to but how can I reconfigure that button to launch the browser packaged with the ROM?

Also, any objections to running a different Kernel such as Kouma 1.0GB? Is there undervolting scripts witten for the originally pacakaged kernel? Keep up the good work!

sounds like either something you installed or added is causing the lag since nobody else has reported any

I had some app that lets you remap the search button but i can't find it right now, ill have to look for it.

the kernel that comes with CTMod is KoumaKernel 1.0GB. thats currently the only kernel out for EJ06.

as far as i know there aren't any undervolting scrips

No lag here whatsoever. Probably something you did, or your phone.

initially when you boot up and start using it everything seems to work ok, no FC's or error boxes, and you can flip screens and scroll menus ok, but anytime during daily use, i frequently notice that many apps and actions have major lag and sometimes even become unresponsive (hangs)

most noticeable are things like dialing numbers or starting/stopping certain applications, and any kind of multitasking or switching between apps or performing multiple actions

i guess it could be something as simple as JD screwing with the speed, but i'm pretty sure it isn't because of app conflict or too many running at a time since it lags with no apps running (except for system or background apps)

it never has become completely unusable, but the constant lag does tend to get old real fast

Try either clearing your dalvik cache or starting over and only install apps you actually use everyday and see how it is

If this was a problem with the rom I'm sure that out of the 1000 downloads 2.3 had there would of been a few people reporting it

I'm running JD Ultimate as well, no issues. Maybe your SD card is slow or starting to fail. I've read also where china companies are scamming the market by falsely selling class 10 cards that are really class 4 or even class 2.

I used to see the same thing happen with stock. Dalvik cache starts to fill up, and things slow down.
 
I must say I was content with the last installment of CTMod.. But I like this one also very nice thanks Bloodawn your work is excellent!!!
 
I just found a new minor bug.
If you open the emergency dialer from the lock screen you will notice the call button
is the old text graphic. not the phone icon as in the traditional dialer.
 
Is it possible to edit your power Widget to include brightness? Or was it left out for a reason.?
 
First off I'd like to thank you Bloodawn and all of those who have worked with custom roms, homebrew, etc. on the Prevail. However, I have been having a slight issue with this ROM. Thankfully, it's purely aesthetic. The loading bar/indicator that is used whenever an application or file is downloaded/installed. It appears to flicker between a full horizontal green bar, and several short vertical white bars until the download/install is completed. I was wondering, is this a common problem I simply haven't seen others encounter, or is this an isolated incident? Thank you, and hopefully this post doesn't seem too convoluted. :)
