Root [ROM]Cyanogen Mod 6 Nightly

Cyanogenmod Rom is pretty sick. runs super fast and looks great. the only issue I have had so far is the phone. First of all it doesn't have the name look up when you type the number in. Second, it doesn't link all your contacts. I love that feature, is there some way to do that permanently so its not htc sense specific. Or do you think this is something cyanogenmod is going to add?

New rom seems to have better wifi and service connection

seems to be good enough for everyday use so far, have used the past several releases and all are stable

Has anyone flashed the fifth version of the nightly yet? I'm waiting to hear if any improvements have been made before I ditch my stable first version.

Yes, I did. I was finally able to download an MMS that my brother sent me yesterday. Still not able to send one, though. Getting better by the day it seems. :D

Great! Are you having issues with battery? I thought I was the first day, but after managing my sync and data connections... I'm sitting at 90% charged and I unplugged over 3 hours ago! I've connected to data to synced gmail and facebook three times, sent some texts, checked some scores and played a little solitaire. I underclocked to 844800 and I'm still hitting 50 fps. I was draining fast yesterday but today seems to be totally different! Goodbye 2.1, it was fun while it lasted!

I have the 7/21 nightly installed and I'm at 59% after about 2.5 hours off the charger and light use. I don't get great reception in my building at work but the stock ROM still had better battery life ... I love everything else about it though and I'm sure there will be improvements.

I'm still doing something wrong with the status bar - a quick flick up on the main screen makes the status bar go away, and trying to "pull it back down" only pull down the big notifications window ... I can't seem to find a way to bring the status bar back.

When you flick up and it goes away, flick up again instead of down to get it to come back. It's a function of ADW launcher, and you can disable it in the settings.

Anyone heard an expected release date for the actual rom?

I haven't seen any news regarding official release, but another nightly version released a couple hours ago. For those concerned about battery I've got an update on my usage with the first build of the nightly CM6... I've been unplugged for nearly 6.5 hours and I've got 85% juice left. I've been utilizing methods I listed earlier in this thread, and yes I've been using the phone! I just wish I could find a way to set up automatic sync and data connection to operate for a brief amount of time every hour or so. That would be awesome and keep me from doing it manually... I'd save more battery by not having to unlock/lock the screen just to check for email and widget updates.

idk if this is what you're talking about but juicedefender allows you to turn off your 3g connection while the screen is off and enables it for 1 minute every 15 minutes to sync everything you need. buy the full version and those times are adjustable.

Awesome, I'll look into that to make sure it's good to go with 2.2. I'll report back. Thanks!

Well that's a no-go. Can't find it in the market with 2.2... I looked at it on Appbrain looks like it's a free app, looks like I'll flash back to 2.1 so I can back it up to Titanium. Thanks again.

my issue is I can't get my browser to work... can anyone help... does updating radio's have anything to do with this?

I couldn't resist waiting on a stable official release, so I flashed the latest nightly and I can't even begin to express how much I love my EVO even MORE than I did before. It feels like a completely new EVO for me! I love it. Cyanogen has not let me down in the past, and hasn't let me down with these nightlys. I can't wait for the official stable release!

Everything feels 1000x snappier! I am IMPRESSED!!
