Root [ROM] CyanogenMod 7 for the LG Optimus M MS690

Is there anyway to download CWM besides ota? I'm trying to flash a phone I had sitting in a drawer (Optimus M) that doesn't have service. I've already rooted it and installed rom manager.
Can anyone provide a link?

Thanks

You should be able to search the web, from your computer, for CWM, and then find a link to the versions that are avail. Remember, for the Optimus M you will need to select the CWM for the Optimus C. The 2 phones are the same and use the same CWM. Down load to your computer and then transfer over to your phone. You will then have to use the ADB command line commands to flash CWM, but it can be done. Course, if you have the Optimus M connected to a wi-fi network you should still be able to use ROM Manager and just flash the CWM. It'll work.

After a week and a half, I'm starting to get FC's in the process of MEDIA.. (ie gallery, and such) and once in awhile the Browser. Camera is working fine. but I don't know why the process of .media is FC'ing.. Should I attempt a Fix Permissions in the Recovery menu?

NEVER! That causes more force closes, instead you should do this:
Open terminal emulator app (if you don't see it, download it with Play Store)
type:
su
fix_permissions
reboot

Did it, and still getting FC'ing on "android.process.media". Hmm. I guess the next step is to get rid of all the pictures (move em to the computer) to see if maybe a corrupted picture is causing the FC..

Try this, backup entire SD card to computer, format it with recovery, load phone and see what happens.

Sounds like an idea. Got a question, what steps would i need to take to change part of my 16gig SD to cover more internal memory.
hmm maybe that didnt sound right.. using a2sd by darktremor. after I format the SD, run a2sd and have it setup i.e. 5gigs for apps? is it that simple or am I missing some info. Just thought I would ask the experts. :)

anyone know how to install the a2sd scripts (I couldn't even find them anywhere)

I figured out what was wrong. The FCing of process.media was due to Overclocking too much. By chance I was checking settings and noticed one the kids set OC to 768.. So I changed it to 729.. And presto! No FC'ing.

I rooted my lg ms690 and forgot to do a setting..I put Titanium on it..now it is stuck in boot..and will not let me recover

You cannot put it into recovery mode? power + vol(-or+) and home key I believe? (I got so used to using quickboot pro app that I forgot the key combos) haha

Well that's a problem when your using setcpu and trying to use cyanogenmod performance you have to use cyanogenmod performance or make them both the same speeds and settings. If not cyanogenmods will keep changing

Hey guys, haven't been here in awhile. I need help again lol. Well my issue is that my camera app keeps popping open and i thought i broke my phone when i fell skating. I don't that's the problem, i think i need to update my rom. Can someone please help me. Thanks.

Hello, is there in this firmware Russian language?
I just bought this phone but I need there that there was a Russian language version of firmware I have now 2.2.2

Hmm, then maybe you'll have to take the source and add a Russian language pack into it. I don't know how.

I just keep getting some crap error message about thunderc and the asserts. I did disable asserts but it didn't help. The problem still remains. I'm running on Froyo 2.2.2, CWM, Rooted of course and everything else. I just don't see where it's going wrong. Hell I even tried deleting the line of code that causes that, but instead of the error showing up it will just say installation canceled. I followed every step right down to the dot on your wiki Playful... This is simple shit though, I'm very literate when it comes to tech. Anyone that could shed some light on this problem, would be in my debt. I'm looking forward to using this ROM. I really want to be able to use the Jelly Bean UI without having all those extra apps running in the back. I could do that with this ROM right?

@Sammyz CM7-OM - PlayfulDroidz Wiki
It's for my LG Optimus M MS690 Running 2.2.2 & before I updated to 2.2.2 from 2.2.1 I had the same issue. Regards, J.

Note - It's not that I've followed out the process improperly, there's just a issue with the ROM or the Recovery. Either or... I haven't tried different versions of CWM, though maybe I should? Don't really see what difference it would make though.
