Root [Rom] Darkslide 4.2

i will take you up on the offer;)
yes wipe data/cache for a nice clean install
heres the exact instructions
Install:
Bootstrap recovery
Mount System
Wipe data/factory reset (if all ready on DarkSlide there is not a need to do this step)
Install from zip
choose zip
choose DarkSlide
Install
Reboot
Enjoy

What does "Mount System" mean? I have never had to do that before when installing a ROM. Is this done inside recovery?

yes this is done through recovery ...before you wipe data/cache scroll to mounts and storage and select it ,then your first option will be mount system,select it and it should now say unmount system,,,backout to main menu and proceed to next step

Edit: supposedly there are doughnuts in the works as well :)

no themes out yet as there really is no need to change themes since the rom itself is heavily themed anything i change i either manually change which is not for the impatient ll or go here http://droidpirate.com/,,,they have lots of stuff,,just follow the directions and you will need to get metmorph from the market,,its free

What Gmen said, it's got so much stuff, when I was running it a theme didn't seem needed. Very well done Rom!
 
sweet thanks guys... also i have seen it on here before, the app drawer button at the bottom was a skull and cross bones would that be on droid pirate as well

Do you still have to "mount" if you're using ROM manager?

just long press on the image from your browser and save it ,,,,,,to install
launcher pro:longpress on app drawer in dock
select change icon
custom icon
select your pic
adw:longpress on homescreen
select create custom shortcut
select launcher activities and choose open/close app drawer
then select the icon picture and replace with your image
once created it will be on your homescreen,just drag and drop it where you want on the dock

Yes on your sd card there should be a add on darkslide folder ..use your file manager and locate the folder and inside you should see the swpe keyboard
then you can install through bootstrap
Install zip
Choose zip
Scroll to add ons folder
select key board then reboot when done
Longpress in a text field and select input method and select the keyboard you just installed if it doesn't automatically show up

Thanks! Does anyone else have a problem with the notifications having black text, which is hard to read on the black background? Is this fixable?

I think bb crackman said a couple of apps do have the black text ....I think it was handcent .....which app notifications are doing it?
 
Strange issue I had with this ROM. I couldn't change wallpapers, I may have missed it but I didn't see any other reports of this. Anyone else notice this?
 
Apparantly my first install was bad. Running it now and it's pretty nice. Some delay in getting widget menus to come up but otherwise fast.
