Root [Rom] Darkslide 4.2

did a little icon swapping ... its mix and match but eh it works

Love this ROM, but I have run across one thing I don't like. When I pull down on the status bar from the top, numerous things that are displayed are to dark and I cannot read them. e.g. the weather, the background is black and the text is black. Same thing with Lookout, black background and black text. So, cannot read any of that. Otherwise, this is my fav ROM.

Is there anywhere in this ROM to change the text color?

All these ROMs available are for the most part awesome. Everyone will like their own choice.

I have tried quite a few lately and all of them had weaknesses and greatness.

In MY opinion, Darkslide 4.2 BLUR is one of the best roms i have ever used. It works flawlessly, allows the phone to retain some of the features that work extremely well for most peeps (Blur = not all blur is bad), no reboots, phone and favorites and contacts work 100%, gallery is smooth and fast, camera and camcorder work smooth and fast, and oh BTW..............in MY opinion, this rom is themed VERY well. All screens and menus look freakin awesome !
If you do try this out, try the Black Market out. Again, IMO, the market in black colors makes it look great :):)

Thank you DEVS so very much for all the hard work and commitment in producing such an awesome rom..............can not say enough positive about how much i like it :):)

I did the throttle hack when i was using Apex and it did nothing for me. IMO it only works if VZW has you phone throttled because you have been using tons of Data?????

I am probably wrong on this but like i stated...........did nothing for me.
 
i don't think the throttle hack will do anything for our phones, as VZW probably has the hardware throttled, not our software
 
So I downloaded the rom very nice now the market was black but within two hours it went green which I really don't care but am I missing something
 
Throttle hack might increase your 3G speed or might just help if you've used a lot of bandwidth. Sorry, I've never used the hotspot. I always have wi-fi available and that's a lot faster than 3G.
 
My question is probably a "newbie" one, but since I am one, bear with me.
When it says you need 2.3 to install this, I have 2 set of numbers I'm not sure about for my phone. One is the system version that says 2.3, but there's another set that is labeled "Android Version", and it is 2.2. Which is the one that is relevant for DarkSlide?

you are fine ,,, 2.3.340 is the system version of 2.2.1 ,,,as long as it says 2.3.340 your good..and it doesnt matter the question every question is a good one;)
 
I tried darkslide 4.2 in both plain and blur,I wish I could say I loved it,I want to love it,but it just doesnt play happy on my phone for some reason.I really want a blur rom,I found that blur 4.2 is slower than the stock ROM,and the animations are very slow,and drug out.I am going to try an download a new version,as I dont think everything was right after reading this thread.I like alot of things with it. Ive been on apex 1.3.1,and I like it,but my device has been the most stable on rubix blur 1.52-and now 1.8....My phone doesnt play well with liberty either,it was blazing fast for a day or 2,far and away my favorite rom for speed...then it became very unstable,i had to pull the batt a few times,restoring the backup right after I flashed it did little to help...

In your app drawer you should see an app called spare parts. open it up and change all settings to fast. See if that helps.
