ok so this is a blast from the past sort of. this is an updated version of froyo's koni's elite series III. it was one of my favorite roms in the froyo days. and diablo67 has just updated it to the latest ota. i'm gonna give this one a try. and again this is not mine.

Discalimer:I'm not held responsible for what happens after you download this rom,if you follow the install directions,there will be no problems.

Installation:

1)Download the rom to your desktop
2)Connect your phone to your computer
3)Drag and drop the rom onto your sd card
4)Right click the icon in your taskbar and eject your phone
5)Go into recovery and do a full wipe(everything,BUT SD CARD!!!!DO NOT WIPE SD CARD!!!!)
6)Go to flash zip,then find zip to flash and install the rom
7)First boot after wiping takes longer,but when you finish the set-up,go to system update and update your profile and PRL,then your golden.

ok i just flashed this rom and man is this rom awesome. i love the theme and the wallpaper is amazing. wifi does not work for me at the moment, but this is a known issue. can't wait til all of the bugs are worked out. i'm glad diablo67 has kept the theme of the original as close to what i remembered it to be.

keep an eye on this one!!!
 
Thanks OCN! I saw this at XDA yesterday and I'm looking forward to it.

Nice that someone is updating some of the older Roms since I never got a chance to flash them.

yep exactly. this rom is gonna be nice when its is finally done. i really like this rom. it is very smooth and super fast as is with no tweaks or overclocking. might have to hold off though as i can't connect to wifi yet as that is my only source for the internet.
 
O mang, the Elite is back!!!

I loved Koni's Elite back in the days too, great rom. Will be flashing very soon. :D

Big D is really getting his dev work into high gear! :)
 
Now this was a real badass froyo rom. Can't wait for the wrinkles to get ironed out here. Hopefully the remake is as good as the original. I might even think about flashing the original at some point.
 
I wasn't on a smart phone during the froyo time. I was on a black berry at the time. Got the EVO it was already Gingerbread. Had it for a month before I rooted it. Then I went totally nuts and was like flashing 2, 3, 4 times a day. Now I'm more mellow and just flash when something catches my eye. I'm currently running Red Line right now and while there are a few minor things I don't care for its a decent ROM and working out good for me. I'll give this one a go soon. I downloaded it so its just a matter of naning and flashing.

Unfortuneately Konikub has moved on for now,he said he might return when things for him get ironed out,i got his permission to update his rom,since XDA elected me for the update,since my Red Line release worked out so well.It takes alot of research,concentration,trial and error.Anyway i'm working hard on this wifi issue,as soon as this gets fixed,the rom is golden,it will be ready for daily driver status.I have Wgallt helping with the testing,hes using the rom now as a daily,he has 4G so he said he does'nt need wifi,lol,but its being tested daily for other bugs,none as of yet.Be patient guys its coming.You can test this beta if you want until then,the more testers the better.

thanx diablo67 for taking this on. i really loved this rom when it first came out. and you have stayed tru to the original rom from what i remember of it. this rom is awesome. no complaints what so ever with the design. if you can get the wifi issues solved, this will be my daily for awhile (or when i find an ICS rom that works for me:))

Personally I rarely use it so not a deal breaker for me.

I flashed this last night. It looks really really nice. I never saw the original one so I can't compare them.
A couple of things I noticed. Even though its based off of 4.67 it's GB 2.3 not 2.3.5. Also it doesn't have the Power save feature you can find by using the Search button in settings like you can with 2.3.3 and 2.3.5.

Edit: forgot to mention there doesn't seem to be a native screen shot.

I ended up trashing that boot.img,it was corrupted,i had to find a new kernel and drivers.Its all good now.

thanx diablo67 man i just downloaded mikg3.1and now you have the wifi fixed for elite? damn! which one?:confused: i guess i will try them both. lol:D
 
I just downloaded and am getting ready to flash! Ive been using Mik3D for a while and loved it. From what I read about this and what ocnbrze says, it sounds really good!

Well I havent know diablo for very long but I do know he is a commited dev and solid. His Red Line rom is a great ROM as well. Even though admittingly for me its a little to Red. Still is currently my daily though. I do hope he finds the time to keep it going. Its really good to have devs like him who are also members of the forum.
 
Yeah, it is very nice. It has a little bit of blue and runs very well.

It has the Notification options to turn on/off 4g,wifi,BT,data. and other stuff.

I'm going to run it for a few more days before I try MikG V3.1.
I could see myself going back to it down the road to and if Diablo adds the tweaks to it as some would like it will only get better.

I am impressed so far. I have 1 app (real estate related for work) that I cant get to work, not sure if it is an error I made or not. Will find out tomorrow and report back.

Otherwise, pretty slick and very quick & responsive.
