Root [ROM]|Feb 6 2012| Energy

I just loaded this on my new EVO yesterday...nice looking, no wallpaper preview though, not a big deal, cant test VVM or SMS, but the rest of it sure looks nice!:D

SMS works no problem :). I don't like using VVM as EVERYBODY that knows me knows I hate talking on the phone so they just don't call me, lol. (sn: they'll call if it's an emergency)

Looks like NRG will be adding the full tweaks in this rom in the near future. ;) Can't wait for that and it looks like he's part of the RCMix team now

Would it not be a good idea to flash the most current radio (EVO_Radio_2.15.00.08.08) to the most current version (12.17.2011) of this ROM?

You should be fine flashing the radio on this sense build

He was asking whether or not people were interested in the newer tweaks being incorporated into the rom, I believe most people would like the added tweaks so........I'm hoping he does:)

The lack of 4G capability is a deal-breaker for me.

I used to feel the same way but since most of my 4G use was at home and now that I have a router, 4G isn't as crucial for me. But I agree, 4G is a deal breaker for some;)

Thanks! I did and I am getting better 3G coverage now, before I was almost always on roaming.

Do you know if there is a difference between the ChopSuey kernel that came with this ROM and the most current ChopSuey kernel (ChopSuey-v.9.2.6-UNIVERSAL-signed.zip)?

Actually the most recent kernel is .9.2.7, this kernel will allow HDMwIn capabilities. The .9.2.6 kernel is the most recent universal kernel. Me, personally, I use the .9.1 universal kernel. I've gotten the best results with the kernel.

I'm not exactly sure what ChopSuey kernel he's using but I'm sure NRG has that information in the op on xda

Hi all, I am new to the forums and just rooted this weekend. I just had a quick question about the VVM. Every time I get a voice mail I receive a text from 9016 telling me to call a phone number, but i never get the voice mail in the voice mail app. I have done some searching on the forums and saw some chatter about handcent, but I do not have that app installed so I'm not sure how to proceed. Is this a bug with the Energy Rom, and if so is there a workaround? Thanks!

Anyone know where or how to get a good copy of VVM? It is still not working in this ROM and I don't have a good back-up to restore.

Not sure where you can get it VVM but again, no offense but why use Sprint VVM? In my opinion, Google Voice is soooo much easier using with a rooted phone. Once you set up your voicemail with GV then you'll never have to do it again. Download GV from the market, sign in and your done. Voicemail is ready for you:)

If you need help setting it up let me know, I'll walk you through it

Did you go with the Sprint setup or the regular Google setup for the first time?

I didn't want to change my Sprint number to a google voice number, so when you first sign in, press the skip button to bypass that option

Okay I did skip the Sprint part and went with the regular Google set-up...I assume that this way if I want to delete Google voice some day I can do so without it effecting my original Sprint voice mail?

Correct, otherwise you will have to change things on the computer side of GV. When Sprint allowed GV as my number, I initially did have a GV number but it then integrated into my text messages and I didn't like that feature. But one positive to that feature was if you wiped your phone and flashed a new rom, all your text messages were in GV, so important text messages didn't need to be backed up;)

Okay, sounds good. Yeah I don't want anything other than just my voice mails going to GV so I guess it was also good that I went with that set-up.
