Root [ROM][FINAL] CM7 7.2 RC1 - g60 style [7.11.12]

If I had a Cm7 backup I wanted to update to this build can I just reflash the backup, Clear caches and the flash the update? Would I still need till flash gapps? Can I go ahead and also flash the b kernel or do I need to reboot between all of these?

Hey,

One thing I have always wondered is why the date never really shows up in the top bar (like the clock does on the right). It is there when I drag down the notifications but could it be made to be there on the right all the time? It is nice to be able to see it even when the notification bar is up.

Just a thought.

It would need to be added to the framework. There is not a lot of room up there, are you sure you would want it?

It would be interesting to have. I was a little surprised that only the time showed. So, yeah, I understand there is not a lot of room, but it would be cool.

Is there any word on the camera issues in 0.4 madman? Wasn't sure if you had seen the posts on page 5 detailing the problem (here and here)

0.4 I fixed the camera. In 0.3 I used cynogenmod's camera but it didn't work right so I rolled back to Mantera's github.

1. Yes
2. No - Unless the backup is an older version of the gapps.
3. Flash and install b kernel then reboot.

Is there a way to remove the 360 launcher app?

if it doesnt show an unistall option in the applications area you can get a stock app remover and uninstall it, but the 360 launcher is what makes your screen look the way it does, if you are uninstalling it and using the stock launcher you will see a big difference in how things look all round (also if your phone has enough space you can just download a new launcher and set that as default instead, leaving the 360 intact)

*i didnt mind the 360 launcher, but the chinese was killin me lol, i even used the sdx tut on how to edit the apk and change almost all of it to english but it didnt help me any lol mostly still chinese and still couldnt get the weather app to know my location lol, if there was an english setting it be game over tho lol id think about saying bye to adw lol

0.4 still has lingering camera issues though, that can be reproduced.

I checked Whyzor's final 3-25 build and the front camcorder does not have the issue, but 0.1, 0.2 and 0.4 (I didn't check 0.3 because it already had acknowledged camera issues) all do.

I have snagged the camera app from an old load of Whyzor's load.
This app does work where the other didn't. The only thing I know that is wrong is the focus ring is red when focused again.:dontknow:
This can do untill someone (maybe even me) can look at the code and find out what went wrong.

If you want to know how to install it, download it. Change the name of your old Camera.apk to something else (like Camera.old) then move this one to your /system/app/ folder. Then reeboot that bit!
I use ES file explorer, so it's easy for me to change permissions. I don't know if I even had to, but I changed it to -rw-r--r--. I think you can do it through Terminal emulator.

Nice work on this ROM! 2 questions: is it possible to work out getting the clock centered and is there a way to make a long press of the back button kill the app like in ics and miui?

So after clean install, getting setup, adding same apps i use in all of my roms, ran the room for while and really liked it. Then rebooted the phone and it went into bootloop. ughh!

Yeah, I'm getting reboots. Same as it ever was, I seems linked to the data. Like, it does it sometimes when Play store apps update, when I'm not using it and the screen is off I'll glance over and see the boot logo, everything I experience seems to be related to either 3G or Wifi.
I've tried everything that I can think off.
*shrug*

What drives me crazy is my phone only seems to have the reboot issues on cm7 based Roms. I don't get then on miui, brom or the ics Roms.

I am sure it is my phone. Just wish I knew why my phone didn't like cm7!

if you were to, save anything important from the sd card
then reformat the sd card(i normally go fat32)
then do the standard wipe of data, cache, dalvik
then reflash the rom and gapps
and this issue is still around id say it may somehow be either a hardware issue, or an app you have installed thats not responding correctly

you could always do a fresh wipe/install and install no apps that you normally do, and just run it for 1 day aftermarket app free and see if it still reboots

Now that the FAQ is up, in the next few weeks I'll work on writing some basic documentation for this ROM. I also plan to, if possible, update that FAQ every month.

Hey, do you want to add this to your FAQ? It gives a good explaination of the file system used on Android phones. That way people can have a deeper understanding on what they are doing when the clear cache, data, or format system.
