Root [ROM][FINAL] CM7 7.2 RC1 - g60 style [7.11.12]

I don't have a lot of time, but this week (starting on Friday), I plan to start drafting some documentation. I guess I'll start with the basics, and create an FAQ and getting started section. Maybe it would be a good idea to ask basic questions to me under visitor messages instead of posting them here so I can answer them (if they're easy enough). If not, expect a potential bug posting here or a question asked here.
 
I'm just trying to understand if I need to flash 0.4 or not. I'm currently on 0.3 and I'm having no issues with taking pictures or video. I am not using the 360 Launcher because, although it seems nice, too many bugs for me & I'm kinda stuck on GoLauncher with ICS Theme.
So, what I'm asking is...Do I really need to update to 0.4 if, as I'm understanding it, the only changes are to fix the camera and tweak the 360 Launcher?
 
If you don't want to, you don't have to. You can wait for the next release. If you do want to upgrade, boot into recovery, and make a nandroid backup. Then, clear the cache and dalvik cache and install the zip from the SD card. Then, reboot your phone.
 
Hey, thanks for the quick response. Yeah, I already knew all of that and I know I don't have to if I don't want to. What I was asking is if there were any other changes besides the camera fix and the 360 Launcher tweaks. If not, then I'll wait until the next update because those changes don't pertain to me. Thanks.

Your welcome. Um, not really. Just some slight changes. I would wait if I were you.
 
I was wondering if anyone had some statistics regarding the memory usage of 360 launcher? (mainly is it less than go launcher) Google doesn't turn up much. It's not a vital question, just one of curiosity.

I don't have any off hand but not sure if you used the Cleaner app in 360. It will clear out any unused processes and free up ram. I have been playing some games and got it up to 72% usage, ran the cleaner it's down to 37% still have pandora running and few other apps. Also the battery app if you click on the left button it will close out any background process to save on energy. While these apps may not be the be all end all to efficiency, they do seem to keep the phone running more stable IMHO.

When it first launches it's in Chinese once you get passed the screen it's almost all in English about 95% or so.
 
Thanks. When I try to put in my city, I cant get past the chinese. Also when booting I don't get the cool G60 style Android. It still has the cm7 guy.

I have not done anything to the boot animation so it's still the skateboard cm7 logo. CornfedChris created a nice boot logo for the ROM which I will be adding in the next build. As for the weather you need to download the app the Dev ported to English. It's located in the middle of the page for Add-Ons in the first post.

For some reason, I was still having issues with the proximity sensor during phone calls on r03 but haven't had any (yet) on r04
 
I am a user of Link2SD and wondered if I could simply open up the rom zip, and add in my link2sd script and then flash the rom update? Would it really be that easy or is there more involved to adding things to a flashable zip?
Anyway, thanks for the continued development!

Your welcome! As for the link2sd script I am not to sure. If you have the link2sd.apk you could just open the g60.zip and put it into /system/apps. Not to sure about all that as I have never used it? However if you are already running CM7 (TG or Whyzor or g60) you won't need to format just simple wipe cache, and dalvik cache and then load the ROM. Any settings in CM7 and apps you have will all still be intact. Hope that helps.
 
Spent some time with the 360 Launcher and now I prefer it over my old ADW. Props to g60 and all his good work! I recommend all doubters to give it a shot! Also, my proximity has been working since r.03! Thanks g60 (and this awesome community), I look forward to your updates!

I just got my Mt yesterday and had cwm and your cm7 (.3) on it in 15 mins of it being out of the box and i must say "beautiful". runs great, looks great. So, Thank you g60 and keep 'em comin :)

I don't know if you are still looking for a kernel or not. I've been trying to figure out how to build the kernel, but it no bueno. Errored out at bluetooth for some reason. I'm going to keep looking for a guide that explains what I might be doing wrong.
 
So i have an issue everything so far seems to run great except for my browser when its in the dock or a home screen it launches my MX Player for some reason.:confused: but when i select if from the App list it launces fine ive rebooted and everything idk what the problem is? Is there any way to fix this?

(Looks like i just updated the MX Player and now my browser goes to the browser :confused: idk why that happened but im glad its fixed) But on a side note Thanks for your work G60!
