Root [ROM][FINAL] CM7 7.2 RC1 - g60 style [7.11.12]

That startled me! I was reading on a small screen and had to do a lot of scrolling before I saw the rest of the post :p I guess I will hold off then and suffer with froyo for a little while longer :D Thanks for the heads up!

LOL sorry about that man, I am to easy going to flame some one on the boards. Anyways yeah I installed Zeam Launcher and all I can say is WOW! It's basically 389kb and runs like a speed demon. It's not as smooth as 360 but it's darnn close. Here is a screen shot I just took.

While it doesn't have the ICS middle app button it looks fine to me. Plus gmail no longer had the highlight of green in it like it used to after applying the ICS theme. Also the other feature I like is when you apply a theme from the Theme Chooser you normally need to reboot to apply all the icons. With Zeam you can just restart the launcher on the fly. Very practical launcher IMHO and also no Chinese LOL.

YES lol, i cant even lie tho, i could see why u used the 360 launcher, it was literally the smoothest launcher ive EVER seen on this phone, but the language killed me lol and as i said before the only things super useful in it for me anyway were the cleaner and battery widgets

also after i completely removed the 360 and installed adw it seemed a little jumpy, so im excited now to see what this new build will bring to the table lol

also thanks for keeping CM7 Alive lol, literally makes the triumph worth having

What do you mean whacking out 12 apps? Which ones are you removing?

well all 360 apps are gone im pretty sure, idk if that counts as one or not since there was a bunch of 360 widgets and such lol

also if it finishes cooking and whatnot today and ur doing a lil testing on it, id be willing to load it up and give it a whirl lol

Just noticed this ROM today and I have to say:

FINALLY!: "Volume sometimes low (pausing or restarting audio sometimes helps)"

I'm assuming this means that I'll no longer suddenly have a huge drop in audio volume when a notification sound plays? If so, thank you so much! Although this may seem like a minor thing, it's one of the things that's been bugging me ever since I bought the Triumph.

Out of curiosity, what was causing it or what was the fix? I'm not into Android programming or ROM building, so perhaps the answer will fly completely over my head, but I'd like to know.

Now I just need to find time to do a backup and install this sucker.

Thanks again, keep up the good work!

It was an update from the CynogenMod in the frameworks/base which controls a lot of the OS for Android. The other one I fixed was the proximity sensor, of course

Mantera is the man that solved it! I just applied his code to the kernel. Also I will be releasing a new version tomorrow. Here is more details on what to expect

Is it me or the phone wont vibrate in CM7? If so can somebody tell me what setting to put it on for it to vibrate?

mine vibrates fine, its just by default it seems to be set to vibrate only when silent mode

Settings>Sounds>Vibrate>Always

unless you mean the feedback vibrations?
cause i believe those ones are Haptic feedback tweaks in the
cyanogenmod setting>input>Haptic feedback tweaks

I still get the volume issue lol...complete format and all

Ah really? That stinks. Is it the way I described it? Listening to music at the "proper" volume, then a notification sound plays and suddenly the volume of the music drops even though the phone says its at the same volume?

It actually seems to be a problem with the Triumph itself, since it happens even with the stock ROM.

Oh well, I'll still give this ROM a shot and see if it solves the issue for me.

Hey g60madman,
I have an idea which would make this ROM even more ICS-like. We could integrate in the Roboto font from ICS. The font is open source, so there shouldn't be any licensing issues.

Updating the FAQ right now for the slaughter house release. Yes, dsmryder, I am including a link to your useful post on filesystems. I am also adding some of my own instructions. Wouldn't want a good post to be buried and for nobody to find it...

I re-apply that one after every update, myself.

Glad for the clean rom, but I use the Email app! It seems like a pretty standard apk to include?

I tried copying the apk from the old ROM zip into the system/app folder, but the app keeps f/c on me? How do I fix it?

I'll have to rebuild with the email app. I will add that back into the ROM. I was worried of removing that one but though lets do it since I was in a slaughter mood. I will rebuild in a few and get it back in and reupload. Should take about an hour or so.

Several preupdating questions: With the stuff that was removed should this still be ok to flash as an update over the previous build? Isn't going to bork anything? Also is there a way to save my homescreen set up from 360 to just apply to Zeam or would I need to just reset up the homescreen? Is the ICS theme in Zeam launcher? Do folders work ok in Zeam (and are they clear so I can see what's in them?)? And a VERY minor detail but anyway to have an option to center the clock? I just like that look better. I know it could be done in Code Name and miui but haven't seen it as an CM7 option.

Yes, you can flash it over the previous build, that's what I did. But wait until later today as g60madman's currently rebuilding with the Email app included. No, it won't bork anything, but you may want to remove any remaining 360 apps (like the browser) after the update. You would need to reset the homescreen, and the ICS theme is not in Zeam launcher, but it does exist for the theme chooser. Folders work great in Zeam. No icons popping out of the folder like in ADW, but you can tap the folder to see what's in it. As for the clock, you can manually drag it to the middle.

How do you drag the clock to the center? And which theme chooser? Same one as I used before (my themes)? So you can't see icons in the folder on homescreen like in go, miui, CM9 etc? Purely cosmetic but I like that look.

R0.6 is ready for download
And my new FAQ is also done! Credit for the filesystem info should go to dsmryder, as he gave me a useful link. g60, take a look at the FAQ whenever you want to. But please let me know what time you plan on looking at it (East Coast or West Coast time) so I can collaborate with the edits. From there, it's just copy and paste to the website. :)
