Root [ROM][FINAL] CM7 7.2 RC1 - g60 style [7.11.12]

As a note on TE, or any other app that could be preloaded on to a ROM. If you install it from the play store, it will still be there if you install over the last build. Also, it can be updated through the play store and your settings will persist. That goes for the launchers too.
I think that the slaughter house was one of the best ideas for a ROM in a long time. It means less to support, less chance for unneeded apps causing problems, and faster downloads.

Very true.....I hate bloatware but it didn't seem like CM7 reloaded had bloatware.Anyways like I said I will try this out and see what happens on Skype.If it works I'm in if not I will report back here
 
just downloaded this and everything seemed to go fine except for some reason the market isn't changing to the play store like it usually does and wont download any apps. anyone know whats going on? I did a factory reset and cleared the cache even though I was coming from reloaded. Should I just redo it?

Did you click on market and accept terms of use?You got to do that first before it updates.Then it will ask same thing again after it goes to google play.
 
hows the battery life on this compared to miui n tg reloaded? miui so far I got the best battery life wif SD kernel. is this better?
 
is there a reason that there is no camera app? is there something else I was supposed to download but didnt...? or can someone give me an .apk file for the camera app since i dont have one for some reason

I've found this to have a phenomenal battery life. A little better than TG's. Whyzor has done an excellent job with the kernel. I don't know what SD kernel is, but I know I can get a day and a half with my usage. I bought the phone to use it, so I don't expect it to last forever when I'm playing with it like a toy.
 
I hate to be annoying but i really dont understand why I dont have the camera app and I really dont wanna have to factory reset again :/

I don't have this build yet I'm downloading it now.When it's do I'll see if it's an error on your end or if it was left out the ROM download

The first thing I would do is check the ROM for the app. If you are on Windows, I use WinRAR. You can open up the ROM and look in the system/app/ folder. If it's not there, then redownload the ROM and recheck.

The other thing you cna try is look in your /system/app folder on your phone. If it's there, then I don't know. I'm going to download it now and look to see for myself. I

If it's the ROM, but not on the phone you could extract it and move it to your phone in many ways. I presume you have the ROM on your SDcard.
Extract the camera app.
Mount the /system partition as writable
move the Camera.apk to /system/app
reboot the phone.

I just looked at my download of it and it was there.So somehow it get deleted in his but idk how it would.

What version did you come from? You may want to flash r0.7 and then flash
r0.8 if you had tg or whyzors build

okay so its in the rom, i extracted the files n it's there but i guess for some reason it didn't install on the phone, what do you suggest i do? can i just move it? do i need to boot into clockwork?

You can reflash
or do like I said in my previous post. If you are unsure about anything, just ask. I can explain better or another way.
If you reflash, it should copy the camera over.

That should be just fine. The ROM comes complete.


OH! Do you have terminal emulator? If so, type this
Code: 
md5sum /sdcard/(location of the ROM)
The result should match the md5 checksum for the ROM.

Edit: never mind. The md5 isn't posted.
@g60: could you include the checksum on the download page?
 
Same issue here with missing Camera app.
/system/app/ actually shows that Camera.apk is there and the right size but it doesn't show up in the app drawer.
tried copying over just the apk from the rom but made no difference.

I'm kinda new to all this do i just reflash it in clockwork without factory reset n ill still have everything?

Yes, but it is looking like the app is borked or something. I don't know if something happened to the link or something, but two people have reported the same thing. I'm going to flash this on my phone and report back.
 
I went from 06 to 08 and I do have the camera. One thing on the camera I noticed: it worked fine on camera, switched to video with no problem but going from video back to camera hung it and caused a reboot.
 
I had MIUI on it before doing factory reset and also formatting /system before installing this rom along with gapps and gtalk
Besides the missing Camera app everything seems to work perfectly. I've even installed the Vignette camera app from the market and it works fine.
 
Can anyone tell me where the link is for this rom, I didnt see it in this thread and I also checked the all things root guide thread and it redirected me to this thread. Thanks
 
I just did a fhash of the 0.8. The camera didn't work.

use that link to get one that works until it's fixed in the ROM
G60, I am almost done with my github and local repos. I can work on this over the weekend, maybe even figure out went wrong if you don't beat me to it (still can't believe how fast your rig is now)
 
This camera apk, is this the full g60 rom files??
I have whyzors CM7, and CM9, I am wanting to download this rom too.
