Root [ROM][FINAL] CM7 7.2 RC1 - g60 style [7.11.12]

Thanks g60 for that answer. As you can probably tell I wasn't asking why something is wrong with every new one. I just don't understand some things is all. I won't be able to install anything for another 2 weeks so I'm sure by then everything will be working fine.
No worries here either. When I came here first, I'm sure I annoyed the devs (if you could even call what you said an annoyance). What you done was not offensive. Everyone has a busy life and we all expect things to work. But we have to understand the devs cannot fix things overnight. I'm sure that you and everyone else understands this, it's just that sometimes we all get a little impatient. Happens to me, too. No big worry. :)

Thing is I haven't tried any of them so I have no right to complain. I just wanted to know. Like I said I won't be able to try any for another 2 weeks so by then I'm sure it will be awesome. Another question...g60 you said you updated those instructions. Can you link me to those so I know how to wipe all of that stuff? Thanks again!

It's on the download page.

First I want to thank madman. I am coming from tg's last release. As good as that one was this is definitely an improvement.

I will say that at the beach today I had a heck of a time seeing the security screen. That is my only issue. Fix that and this phone is darn near perfect. Thanks again!

I've downloaded many-a-ROM straight to my phone. I am spoiled to have a big SDcard. So I can do many backups and have lots of ROMs sitting around. As long as you have the MD5checksum, you can ensure you don't have a corrupt download.

PS: g60madman, did you see my request for the check sum to be posted by the ROM? I've been out and about all day off I missed it.

Edit: Thank you for the checksum:)

Madman I just wanted to comment that I have been updating since 0.6 and been updating since without full wipes (only dalvic and cache wipes) haven't really had any issues. (still using the zeam.zip too) keep up the hard work, and looking forward to 1.0 or 0.10

The Rom is running butter smooth but the market keeps force closing. Can I uninstall or freeze the market without issue or is that a big no no??? :)

Hey Guy's
I have Question, Is This ROM is Stable as Whyzor ROM?
Is There Any Thing That's working on Whyzor CM7 & It's Not Working on This ROM?
Thx for any help..!!

This Rom might be the most stable cm7. I've placed calls, received calls, mms and text, I've tethered and used headphones, and recorded calls it seems solid however Google talk no audio and market is force closing. I haven't listened to music yet and that will be a big test because my neutron app was going crazy so I uninstalled all music apps andfroze cm7 native music app. So I hope its not my $4 Buck neutron or gingerbread. I will listen to music the first time on this build after I take care of some errands later on today.

Madman, R0.9 is another outstanding release. Camera is working great (I only do a Cache and Dalvic wipe). One request, can you place the release number earlier in the zip file name. Your new naming convention places the release number so far back that during the upgrade process, I can not see this important number when asked to verify.

I would be very interested in how YOU do a full wipe upgrade. Do you use Titanium or some other method when you do a full Factory wipe? When I do a Factory wipe I am looking at adding about another hour to my upgrade time, not to mention losing all my game scores and level locations. Conundrum.

Thanks :) I will work on moving the number around in the next build r0.10, right now as it stands I removed the word triumph to make it a bit smaller. Since I don't care about text messages or calls I just do a standard wipe. Also since I am running like 10 apps it's not to big of a deal to get back my settings. I posted a new install guide at mtdev.us using different methods of backup and restore. I have been thinking of using one of those methods but haven't gotten around to it.

Correct it's only on Auto. I am hoping to fix that and also the video flicker in r0.10. Right now the video flicker is fixed in my beta however now the camera and also some media format's don't work now. Ah the joys of development..fix one thing break (2) others
LOL I know how you feel on that.I do TV repairs (yeah we still have TV repair people lol) and sometimes I will replace one component only to find out another one burnt it out in the first place. So I do feel your pain. It's always complicated working with computer software/hardware cause they are very sensitive. But I applude you for the work that you do.If I had the time (or the right computer for that matter) I would love to give it a shot.I'm always interested in why things work or stop working.

Hey g60 man I gotta say you did build a pretty smooth ROM. I think the camera issues are fixed. Just tried it on my latest build(using your latest camera repo) and it toggles fine between video and picture on both cameras and from front to back camera.

I just wanna say thanks to g60 for all the work he has put into this ROM. I feel like it is a much more stable ROM than any other CM7 ROM I have ran. I had to check to see if I had included that latest proximity fix you pulled from mantera, but I just realized that I had never applied the commit that it reverted so I guess I never introduced the proximity issues into my kernel lol!

But for real good job on the ROM, and I pulled in some decent looking open commits to the dalvik vm from cm's gerrit review and applied them to my build. You can cherry-pick those commits if you want to. All I did was fork your dalvik repo and then add in those commits from the cm gerrit. I added some other goodies from the cm gerrit if you wanna check them out!!

Keep up the good work, and I'm gonna keep looking into getting us to a as close to possible from source CM7 with out any of our hacks to get it to run. The incredible 2 is the vivow correct? Or just the vivo?

Thanks brother, I have been noticing you have been rocking my github LOL. Yeah the HTC Incredible 2 & Sony Ericsson Xperia Play are the other like phones with the Qualcomm MSM8655 that both have nightly releases for CM7.1. I have been testing out changing the board from msm7x30 to qsd8k in BoardConfig.mk and also in triumph.mk . It does build and work but the Camera stops working and also some video formats do not play. However the flicker is fixed. After looking over a few more of our sister phones the huawei, and the others they are all using msm7k but I think it's based on the fact the releases are AOSP GB and not CM7.

I have also built with the msm7k and same thing happens. I didn't notice much difference in speeds or usage of RAM. I just need to figure out what's the difference in the qsd8k that allows our video to not flicker, my guess is it's an overlay issue. Going to spend some more time on it this week. I will check out the gerrit hacks you pulled in. :D

Sound to be just like CM9. Not to be a pessimist, but could these issues be unfixable? :(

I was in Settings -> Applications today for other reasons and noticed I have something labeled ICS. I have no memory of installing it. Is that part of the ROM?

Moo ha ha
It will be fixed. At least I think so. I wonder if the drivers are different. Similar, but different. What would happen if we would vomit up some drivers with the same name?
Just a thought..

It's the Ice Cream Sandwich theme for the Theme Chooser. You should try it out. If you don't like it, uninstall it.

Yes that's part of the ROM (just did a full factory reset/wipe and it was there for me)
