Root [ROM][FINAL] CM7 7.2 RC1 - g60 style [7.11.12]

With g60 dedicating his time to make big changes in r0.10 we have some time. Please, nobody pester for an update! I also need this time to reorganize my FAQ as well as expand my documentation. Expect a monster-sized documentation update in the next few weeks! With school almost out of the way, I'll be moving onto college, but I have some time. Expect massive changes! And more than just an FAQ! But do not expect it to be all done this week, I'm busy taking exams!
EDIT: Sorry for the confusion! There will be no r1.0 until everything is perfect, if that ever happens! That would take years of work! r0.10 is the next release! But that one also may take a while to release, so please be patient! Also, I am incredibly busy this week. I may not be here on the forums until this weekend to answer questions. Just giving a heads-up. I've wrote a good amount of documentation and reported many bugs, but I need to pay some more attention to my life. I will be back, though. So no worries!

Hey g60, have you noticed that when on call, it locks the phone very quickly meaning whenever you hang up you have to unlock the phone because it brings you to the lockscreen?

I wonder if there is a way to keep it from locking the phone while in call? I'm gonna look into and see what I can find! Anyone else with this issue?

I have the same issue as well, don't know if there is a way to fix it, but i just learned to deal with it.

There is a way that you can alleviate, but not solve this issue. Menu > Call Settings > Keep screen awake. I'll report a bug to see if g60madman can tweak this for the next release.

Yeah I tried that. Still don't help much. I'm thinking about looking in the phone app itsself and see if I can add an option to keep the phone from locking while in call!

I'm going to have my brother look at the phone and settings repos because he is alot better with Java than I am so he may be able to help me out!

It should be easy. When you watch a video or play a game out locks out the lock screen. The phone app should take control of the screen instead of handing that off to the OS.

For the people with issues when in bright light, there is a setting in CyanogenMod settings/Display/Automatic backlight, I can't remember off hand which one now, it was either Apply moving average or allow light decrease, I have them both enabled and it works. There is a slight delay, sometimes about a second or so but the screen brightens up. I didn't change any other settings just checked the box to enable.

It's the Ice Cream Sandwich theme for the Theme Chooser. You should try it out. If you don't like it, uninstall it.

Really dumb question, especially from someone who has flashed a couple different roms, but how do I get that theme to install? It says the ICS theme is installed but I didn't see it as a choice in the adw themes.

That theme is a tmobile theme Chooser theme. Go to the theme Chooser app and choose ics. It themes much more than just launcher themes that basically only change icons. It changes many system images!!

I also noticed this. I just flashed from .6 to .9 and this is the only hiccup for me so far. I had an issue with the phone not charging but it was the usb port on my computer not the phone, thank god! Thanks again G60 for your time in development. :)

Just curious, is under volting working correctly in your ROM? I have all my voltages set at 600 and it isn't crashing or anything.. I just find this peculiar since I've set it before to see the lowest I can go and not all were able to go lower than 800.

800mV seems to be the real limit. At 600, my phone would just heat up. I've set mine to 800mV below 500MHz 850+ from there up.

Yeah, my theory on it is that anything below 800 just errors out and runs default voltage.
Not just this ROM though... any that have a kernel with that extended voltage regulator table.

That's what we get with everybody copying off of each other's paper.
It doesn't even seem to help much, if at all. There were a few tests that sugest it doesn't.

:D
I'm inclined to agree, I guess.
I think that the screen back light has more effect on battery life... but I under-volt too. :D

So I have a question. Is it possible to just run cm7 and not mess with voltage and kernels and all that? That sounds like to much hassle for me at the moment.

It's not that I don't want to its just I don't have the means to fix something if I mess it up right now. I love messing with stuff like that, just can't right now.

I'm actually quite unfamiliar with this thing called undervolting. I thought I was pretty experienced in the a android world, from a user standpoint, but ever since joining this forum I've seen a lot of talk of undervolting, which I've never heard of. I'm fairly familiar with changing CPU frequenicies, under/overclocking... could somebody please explain to me what undervolting is, how do I do it, and what's the benefit of it? Much appreciated!

Bysdz, did you use the default settings for the Light Sensor Filter and Screen Dim Level or did you set your own custom levels. I too have issues using the screen in bright light. Typically it will respond if I wait but often the lock screen will take over before the sensors react. BTW these controls are located at Settings>CM Settings>Display>Automatic Backlight>Enabled and Screen Dim Level.
