Root [ROM] GingerSteem Extreme for LG Esteem MS910

What I do:
Display (auto brightness)
Gemini App Manager-disable all user apps autorun
Screen Timeout (30 sec)
wifi when available
SetCpu 1516800 max 576000 min ALWAYS ondemand

Major multitasking always on this ROM(Phone)

Stock Battery = min 5 hrs of use
Extended = min 9 hrs of use

Give or take a few mins here or there;)

Awesome!!! I'm going to start disabling everything in just a minute. btw, is there any battery saving app you use? and or app killer as well?

Uhm Really, you should get more hrs of use with extended. Try settings brightness to lowest and set min clock speed to 360mhz. And disable 4 whenever you are not using internet or data .

Should but have gotten over my battery obsession(getting the most out of them)
Have two bats so never an issue.:rolleyes:

min 360 will do;)

4 is never an issue as I struggle to retain 1x @ work streaming tunes all night.:eek:

is there any battery saving app you use? and or app killer as well?

Just installed this ROM and loving it. One little problem though, the governor setting wants to be on "ondemand" and that's where it wants to be. If I change it the change only lasts until the app (ROM Toolbox Free) is closed, then if I reopen ROM Toolbox the governor has gone back to ondemand! Doesn't matter which one I choose, and I also tried a different app to change the guv with the same result. I was running GingerSteem 1.0 with the blitzkreig kernel and had the same problem there too. Am I missing something? I really need to experiment with different governors because my battery life is crap even with an extended battery!
 
Yes my battery life is terrible as well :-( I'm running setcpu ondemand at 1.5 Max 248 min, screen off 576 Max 245 min and drops from 100% battery to 14% overnight with only wifi on and all apps closed. This is based on 8 hours of doing nothing but sleep. I'm running esteem extreem 1.0 with plague 2.6.35.7 kernel. Love the rom but hate battery life! Also, the menu buttons on the bottom of the screen randomly disappear and reappear so it makes it hard getting to the app drawer when it does that..

I am also having this problem. Anyone know?
 
im having a problem...when i flash gingeresteem to my phone i get two problems first when i download a app from market my phone will freeze and then reboot i have tried everything wiped all done it all 3 times same problem...second problem cant export my contacts from my sd card it loads but when its done no contacts help please dam nice rom and would love to use it....

if u ur contacts was sync to ur gmail when u sign in ur contacts should sync bck to ur phone

you need to wipe/factory reset after installing the rom... sounds weird maybe to some, but not to me... definitely worked for me and obviously others...
 
i have done this i do it everytime i do a rom install and no my contacts did not sync from my gmail account thats why i tried the sd card with no luck..

Everytime I have flashed a new ROM part of the initial setup for Gmail is to sync contacts...try this:
Settings-Accounts & Sync-Click on your email-make sure everything is check as shown in the pic below

did rom install then wipe/factory reset when i did this my phone reboots to recovery and nothing else can't reload backup any rom nothing will work...i hope this was not done on purpose to mess my phone up but i hope whatever it was there is a fix for this...

i did do exactly in this picture... i do this everytime i load a rom to save me this problem but i ended in this problem..
 
all i know now is i did what i was told to do and now i have a brick i see there is a fix but i hope i don't have to do all this mess.. is therea fix for this please 350 dollor acam brick sitting in front of me and this sucks
