Root [ROM] GingerSteem Extreme for LG Esteem MS910

Hey PG thanks for the awesome work u hv done with the rom and kernel . I m lovin it running at 2Ghz. The only problems i have till now are:
1. Swype force close after update
2. Bluetooth not working as it when i try to pair it then the bluetooth setting force close and i really use bluetooth a lot while driving.

I would really appreciate if someone could help me get rid of these issues.
I can survive without swype but i really would like the Bluetooth working..

Just installed it today great job guys very appreciated on your hard work I feel I have a new phone, the only thing I have noticed is that as an example hitting either the call or contacts after not using the phone for a while there seems to be a slight delay which is fine I guess is just LG makes that other that super happy with this rom thanks again.

I'm having problems with Juice Defender Plus crashing once I try to configure my apps.
I've emailed the JD devs the info.

This was after flashing this Rom. Was working fine after flashing PG kernel.

happened to me, reinstalling juice defender fixed this for me.

The extreme rom has a recovery option in the power menu, is there a way to rip that portion of the rom and install it by itself on the stock rom? If so, whats the name, what am i looking for? Whats the name of the zip or apk i need to install? Thanks in advace for the help

Is anyone having any problems with their text messages? I on occasion or rather frequently lately am getting these ( network errors=1 ) I am not sure if this is a issues with the rom or a problem with something altogether different? any tech saavy people care to make a suggestion? thanks for any and all input.

charge to 100%, reboot to recovery, advanced > wipe battery stats, reboot. Run the phone til it dies, recharge to 100%, use as normal.

not real sure since I can't test sms etc with no service . But since everyone isnt reporting having the issue its possible it was bad flash or data didnt get wiped b4.

Try wiping cache n data for the sms app in the application manager.

I've never used a battery app on any device so I cant say lol. Its optimized more for performance tho, least mine is. And battery tweaks in it were done by mt.

its a combination of things. As mt was the one to add those mods I'll let him explain which ones would need to be ripped out to add to the stock.

Try this app out Bluetooth Fix Repair. Its free but theres also an unlocker app for it. The guy that dev'd it was having problems with his phone connecting to his stereo so maybe it will help with your problem.

happened to me, reinstalling juice defender fixed this for me.

Acutally. Using 'battery saving' apps don't work as much as you think. And a lot of the times can harm your device or even drain more battery since the app is constantly running.

What will really work is if you've rooted/cwm/and installed gingersteem rom..install setcpu and add these profiles profiles from setcpu.

Profiles I have are:

Sleep: (when the phones on sleep the cpu settings are)

min: 122
max: 652
priority: 90

Charging: (when the phone is charging the cpu settings are)

min: 122
max:460
priority: 100

This will make a HUGE difference with battery life!!

Also, when ever you install a new rom you need to clear out the battery cache. Which can be done through cwm. Charge your battery to 100%, boot into recovery with the phone charging still. from cwm menu, wipe battery cache, then unplug your phone, reboot and let it die completly, recharge fully and use as normal.

using those setcpu settings you're battery will have an extended usuage life.

Hey I wanted to say thanks for making an over clock and debloating the Esteem, I am running on V.01 of GingerSteem. for the reason I dont like the GingerFusion Theme, I know this was asked before but all that was given for an answer was a apk file which I cant install for some reason. I like the theme I have now. I was wondering "cause I am a noob at modding code for androids" how I can remove the ginger fusion to keep 2ghz. or can i flash the kernel for the Plague Extreme. I read this whole forum a few times now and I havent seen a post about getting rid of Ginger Fusion theme or flashing the kernel.

If you can help with the location of the kernel file so i can flash it over my v.1 or a way i can get the theme off my self and others would appreciate it.

The theme is amazing. just not for me.

The kernel can be flashed with any stock based ROM for the esteem unless otherwise stated by its Dev. And atm thats any of em

Just dl the plague extreme kernel, copy to sdcard and flash from CWM/RZR, no wipes needed.

If you want to get rid of the theme you can simply flash esteemed rom (first PG Tom) and flash the plague extreme kernel over the rom . And that's about it. Remember , don't wipe data ....
