Root [ROM][ICS][4.0.3][4-7-12][WIP] ics-deck-evo [pre-beta15]

What are some of the major bugs still in this build? I really want this to be my daily as I love it but I had market issues and some sluggish performance in previous builds.

I haven't used this exact build, but based on my experience with Alpha 1 some issues could be relatively sluggish speed (compared to the awesome Sense and GB ROMs we have), limited video playback (no Netflix for instance), no 4G, no camcorder or panoramic camera, some random force closes if pushed too hard.

Ok I have flashed and gotten pretty much set up.

Feels pretty much like the other ICS roms at this point. Not as responsive as the gingerbread aosp roms (or sense for that matter) but seeing as how we're still in the alpha stages, without a real ICS kernel, it runs pretty well. But if you're huge on performance, don't expect much from this rom. It's not that it's choppy, but the more mature Evo roms are buttery smooth.

Facebook sync works, as does camera. Very nice. My calendar also appears to be syncing ok, but I really don't use it that much.

I flashed the beta 04 of dt a2sd and it works. My phone rebooted a couple of times after installing, but it was probably optimizing the apps for ICS and then installing to my EXT3 partition, and no issues after that, so it looks good.

I've said this in other threads, but I REALLY like the ICS gapps. No comparison to the gingerbread apps.

Alpha4 comes with the trebuchet launcher, but I use GOLauncher, so I can't really speak to it much. There aren't many options to choose from on trebuchet at this point, so GOLauncher is a must for me.

Everything else seems to work ok. I may check out ADW to see if that makes my phone a little more snappy. I'm just using the SA governor at the default settings.

I'm still on alpha 4 and everything works just fine. Haven't tried GPS yet though but my calendar is syncing just fine as is Facebook

I've flashed Alpha 5 straight into a BM slot. No problems and it runs very well.

It's a little laggy at times but for me that probably has more to do with running from a Boot Manager slot. I did find that the Interactive Governor worked better than SmartassV2.

I had one reboot last night but that was after being on it for an hour straight playing words and then surfing the web a little. The battery temp was up to 106.

I'm planning to run this for the day. The first ICS rom I've felt I could do that with.

Edit: I forgot to mention that my calendar syncs up fine. The only issue was not many choices for calendar widgets.

I know you are all hanging onto the edge of your seat to see how my day with ICS went.:p

I flashed it in last night, played with it awhile, went to bed. I woke up at 4 and at 5 I experienced the Reboot so I went back to sleep.

This morning all was fine for awhile. I didn't really do much with it but when I called on Maps for an address around noon it all went haywire. It rebooted when trying to back out of Maps. IU let it get going again but then it froze on the Home screen for 6 full minutes before I finally pulled the battery.

I went back to MikG 3.0 for the rest of the day. When I got home I tried to boot the ICS rom back up through Boot Manager and it just went to a black screen that wouldn't even let me charge the battery so I pulled the battery again and that's it.

I may try to flash it as the phone rom and then try putting a Nandroid into that slot. Oh well. I had high hopes.

Been running Alpha 5 for a few days now. I tried Nova Launcher and then switched to Launcher Pro. The phone just feels much snappier using Launcher Pro. It's a shame to give up some of the UI features of the ICS launchers but well worth it to me have a more responsive phone.

The main problems are still random freezes and reboots once in awhile. Is there another compatible kernel out there yet other than Tiamat?

I think the only Kernel is the one the Rom comes with. In another thread it was said that Deck is waiting for a new Kernel to move him forward but I don't know if someone is actively working on it.
