Root | ROM | InfectedROM Eternity

Plenty of space...I even use a 32GB SD card, It's just this ROM won't let me install anything from the market or TB.

Which build are you on? I haven't had any trouble with the builds and the market, have you tried clearing data in manage applications and then resigning into the market?

Was on build 30 and tried all of the above. Sadly I went back to Mik3D...not that I don't love Mik ROMs...I was just excited about a 3.5 from Virus.

In my opinion, newtoroot's Sense 3.5 Xl/runny mix rom is the best for the 3.5 roms. Virus's rom will definitely become more stable as the commits come but for now, I believe newtoroot's beta test 2 is the most stable;)

I'm gonna give that one a go...haven't tried it yet.

r33
few kernel tweaks thanks zig

r32
battery drain fix

SVN only it looks like so far. Im nandroiding now to give it a go

Right now I'm really enjoying r30 it seems to be working very well.

Where is Frenchy at? Hadn't seen him the past few days

Better than Newt's? Just wondering as I am just now trying the 3.5 ROMs. I tried Team Blaze's hybrid, but so far I think r42 is smoother. Haven't tried Newt's though.

As far as the previous builds are concerned, I believe r42 is the best build for this rom;)

As far as comparing it to other 3.5 roms, that's not for me to decide but I feel that all of these sense 3.5 are becoming more and more stable. More bugs are now being squashed and now, each rom has there own feel to them. But if I would rate them for my phone, 1. newt's, 2. eternity, 3. NRG, 4. Joelz's 3.5

Thanks! I was following up from your previous recommendation of Newt's ROM, definitely understood that it is personal opinion based on your phone. Appreciate the input though!

Anyone else having USB Connection issues? It charges, but it doesn't prompt to ask what type of connection, it doesn't show the icon in the status bar or in the notification window, and changing it in the Connect To PC menu doesn't do anything. I'm on r42.

Again, these are some of the bugs that some roms have and others don't. Try automount from the market and see if that helps;)

Someone, anyone. :p

How does this nightly thing work? I haven't tried it with any of the roms to date.

Is there a basic rom you dl and then flash the 'nightly' as some sort of patch, or are they stand-alone roms themselves?

What is this SVN thing all about and where do you learn about it?

Type real slow, please, been on pain meds for past couple of weeks for a tore up back and I am even more dense than usual... :o

Thanks!

The nightlies are all built as full roms, since the rom is still in the early stages a full wipe is recommended when flashing a new nightly.

I started a thread on SVN, so do a search it's probably a few pages back. Unfortunately, Virus has stopped the SVN updates for Eternity and full roms are only being built.

But when you get SVN set up, then once a developer does an update or commit, then you can add that specific commit to your rom without having to do full wipe. Pretty nice

I wish there was a way to install your backed-up apps from Titanium without having to have the SD card partitioned. I have a 32GB card and really have no need to partition it. I hope that is something that changes in this ROM because I really want to run this as my daily once a Beta comes out.

u do not need to partition your card to backup and restore with tb. you should have no issues using it.

After I flashed this ROM and tried to install all my apps that were backed-up with TB it wouldn't let me do it...the phone just went into reboot. I then saw a post on XDA that said you need to have your SD card partitioned to be able to install back-up apps from TB with this ROM.

ok yes that is true for this rom. most sense 3.5 roms are really big and they take up a lot of room on the phone. sorry i miss read your post.

what class card do you have? if it is a class 4 or higher, you could easily partition it.

That you will run in to a lot with Sense ROMS. All that eyecandy comes at a cost. Well most of its programs that the dev thinks you want and should have.

Partitioning the card is not really that big of a deal. You have a 32 gig card which means you probably have access to about 29.4 +- If you use a 2 gig partition that will give you 27.4 gigs left. Do you really need all that room? I have a 16gig and I use only about 6gig of it. I have 2 for apps. so I still have 8 gig of freespace. I use Google music to store all my music. I have a dropbox account that I use for some pictures and filesharing. There are a ton of free clouds out there.

I can't tell because I bought this (Amazon.com: SanDisk 32GB microSDHC Memory Card (Bulk Package): Electronics) in May and I read that SanDisk upgraded the card from a 2 to a 4 as of December 2010 but they removed all mention on the card and packaging of what class it is. So if I got one that was sitting on the shelf for a while it could be a 2, otherwise it could be a 4.

Right now I have just about 25GB of music on the card. As it is I am sitting at about 5GB of free space on the card. So I guess I will just go ahead and partition the card. Can you access and manage the seperate partition when you connect to a PC via the USB or is that separate partition hidden? And what is actually stored on that separate partition? Is it just the back-up of the apps in TB?

Ok first why do you have 25gig of music on the card? Google music will store all that for you. They allow you to upload like 20,000 songs Plus your purchased music. Music plays as if it was on my phone. (My Experience anyways YRMV)

You will also need to understand how to use a2sd. Eternity comes with Cyanogenmod a2sd. Open a Terminal and type su press enter then type a2sd install. (Make sure you have partitioned first) I would just create a 2 gig space that will be more than enough. This will copy the User apps over to this partition taking it out of the phone storage thus giving you more room. TB will install apps to the phone you need to move them to the partition directory with the command above. Also In Windows you will not see the 2 gig partition in the My Computer. It will show up in Disk Manager but that is it. If you have Linux then you can access the drive from the computer but really there is no reason to. After a2sd command is run your phone will reboot and take a bit of time to load back up this is NORMAL just be patient and let it do its thing.
