Root [ROM] KANAIDA - Shang Tsung 1 (ICS 4.0.4)

Well here goes nothing, I am about to flash CM9 for the Viper with my kernel. If it works and I lose 4g nobody will know until monday when I have internet access again.

Total failure, it kept saying install was complete but wouldn't install anything

Maybe the install was directing to install something that wasn't there anymore, aka the old kernal? It's just a thought.

This is possible, I tried to split the boot.img to put my zimage in but couldn't so i put my boot.img in. I think my best bet is getting Kanaida's ROM to work. I have yet to actually get that one to even install

Sigh, logs ... I should read them more often. The reason CM9 wouldn't install is because it could not find a partition called recovery. So, I guess I could try that one again and just mount mmcblk0p14 as recovery. Oh well, live and learn.

I cannot get Kanaida's ROM to boot past the first LG logo, so I will be uploading my kernel source to github on Monday

Hey guys, been trying to export the raw output folders from my android+kernel builds. (i think maybe i packed it incorrectly, it's been a while. Maybe one of you guys can pack it right). I'll post it up soon, just gotta expand the size of my virtualbox hard drive.

As long as you used an ICS Ramdisk and packed the boot img using mkbootimg, then there shouldn't be anything wrong. The zip is structured correctly. Idk, I am still working on getting my kernel to compile. It compiled once and now won't do it again.

If I could get a Nandroid backup, or if someone has a Lucid or Viper running ICS theu just need to do this:

Code:
adb pull /dev/block/mmcblk0p8 ./boot.img

I doubt that cmd works at all. try:

Code:
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p8 of=/sdcard/boot.img bs=4096

;)

Try removing the out folder in the kernel source directory and making a new one.

Whatever happened to this rom. I know alot of people donated money to this and its abandoned. This is bull if you ask me.

yea for some reason the TA is gone and eager is stop work on its till Feb and of he is doin...old what he's doin

Nah, Imma get an HP ENVY d7t Quad Edition. i5 processor and 12gb of RAM. just gotta wait for the money

Nice!!! I just got the HP ENVY H8-1414 and man, i love it. its so damn powerfull..
Sorry it was off topic but im glad u getting that comp:D

What if this Rom works but what might be wrong is that our cwm recovery is not ics compatible like we can't use this cwmr to flash ics Cuz its not supported by our version the spectrum has 6.0.1.1 we have 5.8.3.1 just a thought
