Root [ROM] MidnightRom: Sense 1.5.4

Running performance governor and noop I/O at 1.782 ghz. Ran it right after a reboot so nothing else was running in the background. This rom is super fast and super slick!!!

I'm currently working on another version.

So far....

-Default overclock is set at 1.32 to fix random reboots
-Newer kernel version with better multitasking
-Sweep 2 wake is activated (If you slide your finger from home -> search it wakes your phone, instead of having to push the power button at the top!)
-Further Optimizations of system apk's to reduce memory load, speed things up, and reduce the rom .zip file
(For example, the original Burgundy.apk was 2,984KB and is now reduced to 2,042KB. It may not seem like that much, but it adds up fast when there's 159 system apps!)

Where can I get just the sweep2wake?

Awesome! When do you think you'll be ready?

Cleared caches and flashed ROM, benchmarked a few times and got into the high 4100's on quadrant, then flashed boot.img through 4ext (I'm S-On) and now I can't OC, can't connect to wifi or 4g. This has happened before, but I restarted and in less than an hour, everything was back to normal working order. Anyone else have this issue?

Lightning fast ROM, but Sense 3.6 got on my nerves way too much. It's like the opposite of Project Butter. Project...Gravel...

Would be awesome if it could be themed and the animations could be changed up to make it Sense 4-ified.

Installed both successfully but sweep to wake doesn't work for me. Guess I will, wait on your updated rom.

Yeah just found out that the latest kernel kinda breaks it. Reflash the first file that u said, not the second, and it should work

*edit*

And the latest govs are gone in the latest kernel as well :|

Tried both and can't get it to work on either one. And max CPU is 1.728. Defaults to 192.

Is there a setting to turn on sweep to wake?

My max CPU is only 1.188. Did we switch from Anthrax to a new kernel? Mine says "3.0.16-g4211684 htc-kernel@u18000-build-155 #1 SMP PREEMPT"

Just did a full wipe cause wifi and 4g wasn't coming back.

UPDATE:

I've been flashing the ROM in TWRP and then using 4EXT to flash the boot.img. This does not work. If you're S-on, use fastboot usb to flash this ROM, and you shouldn't have any issues. I thought no matter what, you still had to flash the boot.img through 4EXT if you were S-on. I might be mistaken, but I don't believe this to be the case. Now my kernel reads "3.0.39-shooter-ics-beta01-3.1.5-g0d9b7e2-testcgoodman@buildbox02 ) null", and I can OC again, have wifi and 4g connectivity, and newer governors as well.

tl;dr: if you use TWRP to flash, and you're not S-off, and you're not using fastboot usb, you're gonna have a bad time.

Flashed latest version this morning and im getting random reboots. Is there a fix for this?

I've also had a number of reboots/lockups. Did not have these issues with 116. Could it be the kernel? I'm soff running ext4... Can I use the new Rom with the old 116 kernel? How would I do this?

Why am I getting a lower score

New version is uploading right now. I've been working on getting all the system apk's optimized and it's literally taken me the greater part of the day lol.

Here's a comparison of both versions. Both have the same amount of files (I removed the same apk's in 117 that I did in 118 just to be consistent)

1.1.8 8/13/2012 (Latest)
MD5:8993871d2e6dbfe231b0b0054ec99281

-Updated kernel to 3.1.6 (MUCH Better multitasking!)
-Changed default gov. back to ondemand
-Optimized all system .apks. This increases system storage, lightens memory load, increases load times, and speeds things up (And was also a pain in the butt to do...lol)
-Optimized boot animations
-Optimized wallpapers
-Updated install script a bit
-Removed WifiRouter (Already have a tether app. Don't really need it)
-Removed weather widget

No sweep2wake yet. It was taken out of the latest kernel because of problems.

I got a pretty high score using AnTuTu benchmark, but the other benchmark apps I use gave me lower scores too. Maybe because of the new kernel?

Is it possible to get long press to kill apps and be able to have the icons in blue instead of white somehow? Back to this rom now after trying several others. Kinda just wanted everything to work again :-) trying nova launcher to see if that gives me a little more what I want from the setup.

just went back to my backup of 116... too many reboots with 117. Will definitely flash 118 and give it a try... was reboots a common problem with kernel 3.1.5? I don't really follow the kernel development.

1.1.6 was the first Midnight rom that I've tried and really love it. Hoping 1.1.8 meshes a little better with my phone.

I was getting a lot of random reboots at first because i didnt do a full wipe. I thought i could just wipe dalvik and cache. It was working at first but about 10 minutes in i just kept getting reboots. I then went into recovery and wiped everything and did a fresh install. Now everything is running great and no reboots. Also just scored a 4247 in quadrant. Just sharing my experience.
