Root [ROM] Mikfroyo - ALL Versions

The same thing happen to me after flashing Miko 4.5, Kernel Netarchy Toastmod 4.3.2 CFS more HAVS nosbc. it works fine but start acting up on reboot and sit at the white screen only after flash the kernel. I go back to Netarchy Toastmod 4.3.1 CFS HAVS nosbc and now it is working good. Not sure if Netarchy Toastmod 4.3.2 CFS more HAVS nosbc is still in Beta and that is the reason. This Kernel did the same with Miko 4.4

Could be that it doesn't like more aggressive HAVS. Try less aggressive HAVS with 4.3.2 as frenchy basically said.

That's the correct link. NA 4.3.2 is still in beta. Either use 4.3.1, or try 4.3.2 less HAVS. It doesn't matter that much that it's in beta. I've been using it for quite a while, and I don't have any issues.

I did the full wipe and in the comments after doing the dalvik wipe it says,

-- Wiping cache...
Formatting CACHE:...
Cache wipe complete.
E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p2
(File exists)
Dalvik Cache wiped.

I haven't done anything further yet. Anything I should be worried about?

Yes 4.3.1 works fine both in Mikfroyo 4.4 & 4.5, Just want to step up to 4.3.2. I will try the 4.3.2 less havs and see how that works.

It only did that after a dalvik wipe? Have you seen it elsewhere? It's most likely due to something within the ROM (support for a2sd, perhaps). I say that because mmcblk0p2 is the device name for an ext partition on your sdcard. if you've never partitioned the card (for use with a2sd), then naturally, it's not going to be able to mount it. I assume you *haven't* partitioned the card, correct? I'd say, unless anything actually fails, don't worry about it. I think it's an issue with the ROM, but not a serious one if nothing is failing. You could also just partition your card, but that's kind of drastic if you don't actually want to use a2sd.

EDIT: Or just flash RA. This is a known problem with CW (not that it's CW's problem; it just happens to spit out the error).

No, I've never seen it anywhere else. No, I have not partitioned my SD card for A2SD. The partition cache wipe went ok, then I did the dalvik and that popped up. I flashed the ROM and the new HAVS-less kernel and it seems to be doing ok. I'm running the restore on Ti backup right now.

Hello all,
MikFroYo 4.5 is working great, have had no problems at all so I am planning on keeping awhile. Does anyone have any suggestion on how to push back an App form the removed folder to the system/app/folder? Thanks in advance.

My WiFi isn't working... help??

Can you give a little more details about what you mean by that? It won't start? It won't connect? etc.

I also can't install Amon Ra... it says no such file or directory...

How are you trying to install (flash) it?

Hello all,

You can use adb (if you're familiar with it, and have it set up), you can copy with the terminal emulator, or you can use root explorer (or ES file explorer should work too). The last options is the easiest, if you don't mind paying for it. Just copy the apks you want directly to /system/app. You'll have to mount /system as rw, which can be done in root explorer.

I have just gone from Mikfroyo 4.4 to 4.5 and I am not able to restore Titanium Backup. Anyone else have this problem? When I go to the market it goes through the download process, says it was downloaded but I cant fin it in my list of apps. Is there another way to restore this-such as from the removed files folder? I don't know how to "push" an application. Can someone help with this.

Hi guys, I just rooted my phone the other day and I think I'm gonna take a plunge and choose this as my first rom. If I understand this correctly, I need to update the Radio+Wimax+PRL+NV first before applying the rom right? If so, which versions of each worked for you? I was over at the thread at XDA and I guess some guys were having problems with the latest combo version? If there's a dumbed down version of how all this works like rooting for dummies can some one please direct me to it before I ask any other stupid questions. Thanks in advance!

It says that it cannot scan for WiFi networks. It will try to connect briefly and then fail. It started when i flashed MikFroyo 4.5...

I would wipe and flash again. you may have just gotten a bad install, or a bad wipe before install. you may want to consider switching to RA

try this first for market problems. from home screnn menu-settings-applications-manage applications-running-google services framework - clear cache and data then force stop. now go find mikmarket, it will probably be under all - clear cache, data and then force stop. reboot your phone and try the market again. you should be good. if not you may also need to try and reflash 4.5

ok, so you just rooted. I would bet that you already have the latest radio's and don't have to worry about this. you can check by going menu-setting-about phone-software info - you should see baseband # 2.15.00.11.19 and software number 3.70.651.1 if you have these numbers you are already at the latest radios and htc updates. so you can just flash the rom, wipe first of course.

so the reason radio's are put up like this is that once you are rooted you can no longer update from sprint, well not without losing root that is. so when sprint releases an update they usually release new radio versions. these versions will not usually get installed by flashing a rom the manual way. so what happens as root users forget about the fact that they are coming from an old sprint software version and just want to flash another rom. so dev's put up disclaimers to remind people coming from old software to also update their radios. this would happen automatically from a sprint OTA update.

if you stick with flashing roms built off of 3.70.651.1 you should not have to worry about radios. unless you're still on 3.29 or 3.30 software.

Why was the 4G button removed from the task bar in 4.5?

perhaps because it has a bug in 4.4. turning it on works but turning it off does not really turn it off. you have to go to settings ... enable it and then turn it off again to really turn it off then do a reboot. if you don't do this it will still try to connect in the background.

na, its a general 4g widget bug. sometimes not shutting off and starting on its own after an reboot. mik talked about removing it before 4.4 was released because it can cause too many errors or questions for the dev. some get it to work fine. I think he held off on removing it until 4.5 just because he new 4.4 wasn't going to be his final version.

if you want it, you need to add it yourself. just one less thing mik has to deal with I assume.

Damn! I just gave 4.5 a try and so far it is pretty damn quick. I am not as big a fan of the themes available (I like Myn's look a lot better), but it certainly is quicker. I will take a few days to see if I really like using it better than Myn's, but so far it I dig it. I tried the Flat Black/Red theme and I like the colors, but it looks funny on some of the writing/widgets, so I might go back to the regular look.

The exact same way I felt when first flashing Mik's for the first time (4.2)! Right now I'm trying out koni-elite which has all the optimizations of Mik's, but like I said, I'm giving it a try :p and will more than likely flash Mik's 4.5 this weekend.

I'm not a big fan of Mik's theming, but *did* like using Matted Blues with it.

just an idea, myn uses manup revolution theme correct? I use to love this theme for its simplicity, but I think I over used this theme as I got kinda sick of it.. lol.

you can find it here and should be able to flash it over mikfroyo [THEME] 8/30/2010 Manup456 The EVO Collection 2.2 UPDATED =) - xda-developers make sure you download the version for froyo 2.2 **disclaimer** these are old and even tho they should work, you may lose some of the mikfoyo optimizations. maybe you guys could try to ask manup or even mik if they could update this to be based off of mikfroyo.

I still like manups alternate battery the best. nice simple circle :)

also check out koni's theme's built for sense. these are also not built for mikfroyo. but seeing that koni is still active around xda maybe you could request him to update his themes for mikfroyo or ask him how they will run on mikfroyo. Yes, flashing through Clockwork

You're trying to flash RA from Clockwork? What file are you using? The easiest way to get it is to install ROM manager, then choose the option to flash an alternate recovery (will be RA). If you have a PC36IMG.zip file, you need to put it on the root of your sdcard, turn the phone off, then turn it back on while holding the volume down button to get to hboot. It will scan for the file, and prompt you to flash it.

Follow Drew's advice, and check your current radio versions. If you've been keeping up on OTA updates, then you likely have the latest radios. You only need to flash them if you weren't on the latest OTA when you rooted. And when you do flash them, only do it once until there is another OTA. If you *do* need to flash them, follow the instructions in the rooting for dummies guide - section 6 under after rooting.

Alright i feel dumb for attempting that... It had been a whole... xP

However, my wifi still won't connect or find any wifi areas...

Don't worry about it :). There's so many ways of doing things, that it can get confusing when you've never done something like it before.

As for your wifi issue, are you getting an actual error message, is it not connecting to your network, or is it actually not even scanning? If it's at least picking up your network, what point does it get to before giving up? Does it say connecting? Does it say it's getting an IP address? If you can at least scan, have you tried rebooting your router/access point?
