Root [ROM] Mikfroyo - ALL Versions

once you open root explorer, go to /system/app and then you should see HtcLockScreen.apk there. that is the one you need to rename to mayne HtcLockScreen.apk.03302011 so if you decided to go back to stock you can rename it again to apk.

goodluck

edit: maybe this link is much better

Thank you sir!

Hey I just flashed 4.6. I want the flatblack theme but i was wondering if i I need to wipe anything before I flash it. I have already made a nandroid back up so now what...and when I went to xda's forum with all the mods the download wouldn't start on media fire so does anyone have those in their folder I can download?

I would wipe Dalvik-cache just in case.

quick question. I download this rom V4.3 because I thought that was the latest version since that's all i could find on the OP in the link to this ROM. Now i'm reading there's 4.5 and 4.6. Does anyone know what the difference between the ROMS is and if it's worth leaving 4.3 for?
Thanks in advance!

haha i didnt read this thread at all never used miks but some devs get rid of the gps icon, you'd have to go to setting location to see if it was on or use a widget. I actually prefer no gps icon...

I was wondering if someone could answer a question for me, Mik did a great job making all the apps i dont like uninstallable, how come flicker or footprints wasnt included in that group? Great ROM other than that.

Because it wasn't made for you lol. Apparently he find those useful. Just freeze them or uninstall them in titanium.

excellent, thanks for the tip.

If i was you i'd be very careful on what you freeze. Some of those apps are deeply embedded in the OS and removing them can be harmful. As too weather these two apps are harmful if frozen, i'm not sure but it's best to do some research. It might have been left out because they're not safe to remove.

I remove flickr and footprints myself you are fine. I actually uninstall them but if you are unsure freeze and see what happens you can unfreeze if it is undesirable. Don't freeze something you have absolutely no idea about do a little research.

Eh I think i'm going to stick with 4.3 for a while. Not quite sure i understand the lango of 4.5 or 4.6. I heard something about dtox or deox or something like that and I automatically assumed they were talking about dr. dre's new album.

4.3 is pretty old. I have 4.4 on my wife's and it works great. She has no idea what the capabilities are nor does she want to know. She just wants it to be functional and look decent. Mikfroyo does both.

Change log is pretty extensive I would update...that's odex and deodex. Odex is a bit faster likely but you can't theme it how you want, like your stock rom was. De odex saves space and can be themed. Depends on what you want.

Ok with mikroyo, he has a Launcherpro he says is cleaned up and runs quicker, like most things in his rom. It comes a .com.launcher.apk (not the full title but most of it)

I read you have to push it into the system/app folder where all the other apks are at. Ok so I did that. Now what? It won't let me install it from there. So I'm guessing it has to do with the permissions. Can someone help me out on what permissions it should have to run? Thanks!

You shouldn't have to install it to /system/app unless you want to. You could have just put the apk on your sdcard, and selected it to install. That being said, it's a good idea to keep your launcher in /system/app (keeps it from ever accidentally getting uninstalled). In any case, sideloading just copies apps to /data/app. If you copy it to /system/app, you just installed the app as a system app. It's installed at that point. Don't try to select it to install. As for permissions, you do need to make sure they match, though. If you're using root explorer, long press on another apk in /system/app, and check permissions. Make sure the permissions for launcher pro match. If they do, reboot, and see if you can select LP as your launcher. If not, you might need to push it with adb or an update script from recovery. Oh, and make sure you don't already have LP installed. Uninstall it, first, if you do.

Thanks so much man! Will try that now...

Would you be kind enough to link me to to the odex and deodex 4.5 ROM? i didn't see those in the link on the OP

where the heck is the 4.4 rom? I went to mikmik and only found .5 and .6. couldnt find it in the op link either

ok so I downloaded 4.4 to replace 4.3. So far I don't notice any big differences. What I did notice is that i went from 350mb of free space to 250mb of free space.:confused: any idea why? It is it just this ROM is heavier than than 4.3?

Also, does anyone know why I lose the skinned market? When i go into mik's market for the first time it's themed and i love it. but once i leave and go back in, the theme is no longer there
