Root [ROM] [MikRoms] Incredibly Re-Engineered v2.3.2 [02-25-11]

Had to go back to WarmTwoPointTwo. This rom just started giving me awful battery life the longer I had it installed. Not sure why but I did use System to see if anything was looping or preventing sleep. Couldn't find anything wrong. Idle life was fine but using it dropped the battery like a rock. Restored a Warm backup, restored the newer app versions and the battery is back to performing like a champ. Not sure what caused this issue.
 
Good question actually wayrad lol.

Don't use ADW or GO launcher, any of the others so not sure.

Could prolly make a thread on xda, or here asking I guess.
 
Well, this is interesting. I used the alarm clock this morning for the first time since updating to 2.3.2, and there was no way to turn it off. No snooze button, nothing. Had to reboot. The whole episode was certainly effective in waking me up, though. :D
Edited to add: Must've been a fluke, it worked OK the next time I tried it.
 
I ended up replacing my clockwork recovery with the alternative in rom manager and was able to flash the old version that way. Big pita but it worked.
 
Could anyone please tell me which version of Wireless Tether came on this ROM, and does it work? I probably overwrote it when restoring my apps (didn't realize at the time that it came included), and now I have the usual DHCP (?) problem. Also, is it necessary to have fw_bcm4329.bin in the android.tether folder for the included version? I'd like to have Wireless Tether available just for emergency use.
 
I use Sprint Hotspot. Works perfectly, comes with rom.

Just want to say I have flashed every ROM and kernel out there and I have come back to this ever developing rom.

It is simply the best overall Sense ROM out there.

Not one single issue with 2.3.2.

I'll be nanning back to 2.3.2 to give the dev time to update all the mods to accommodate the odex format in 2.4.

2.4 is incredibly smooth with even better battery than 2.3.2.

The solution is to use the lockscreen that goes with the alarm you are using. It comes loaded using the vanilla lock, requiring you to download the vanilla alarm of your choice. Or switch to the sense lock, which will work with the included alarm...goofy I know, but necessary for the customization potential in this Rom. Directions for both are covered earlier in the thread.

If you are using the vanilla lock screen use the vanilla clock (the white clock to set alarm), if you are usng sense lockscreen then you use the sense clock (black clock to set alarm).

If you didn't flash a new lock screen use the white clock or tap on htc weather clock if you didn't mod that too.
 
Thanks EinZtein! Yes, I was using the Sense clock (at least it's the same one that comes up when I tap the black clock icon in my app drawer). I hadn't yet modded the gray and green horizontal-swipe lockscreen that came with 2.3.2 when I saw the problem. Since then I've renamed HTCLockScreen.bak to .apk and flashed the Myn's lockscreen. Maybe that's why the alarm works now.

I will try the Sprint hotspot. Hadn't paid much attention to it as I'm not on Sprint and figured it for an Evo remnant, but I should have known that there wouldn't be anything nonfunctional in such a polished ROM. :)

So should I wait to flash 2.4 until later? I am switching from stock ROM for the first time (just rooted several days ago). Should I go ahead with 2.3.2?

I love this ROM. Incredibly fast...but my battery life is gawd-awful! Does anyone else have this problem? I'm using the kernel included with the zip file.

Pulled it off the charger at 70% at noon. by 3:30 it was below 20 and had very light usage.

Suggestions?
 
I'm having very good battery life, as good as any other rom.

I also manage my system very efficiently though so I've had pretty good battery on most roms.
 
When I try to flash it says
"cannot open /.....
bad
installation aborted"

What do I do?!

All I know is that it's one of the options you get when you restart via a long press on the power button. ;) Maybe someone else knows how it actually works.

It's a fast restart, bypassing the complete load process a normal restart does. What it does is reboot the Android shell, leaving your hardware still running. Good for shaking out some bugs and clearing caches.

Mine was crappy. I switched back to Evervolv.

I did love the quick charge time, though, as Evervolv is quite slow. Sprint Hot Spot was amazing...and I will miss that.

I'm switching to the Thunderbolt probably within the week anyway. My dInc goes to my wifey :)
