yes your phone screen will not shut off while next to your face. you need the proximity sensor on for that function. it will however still time out after your set timeout period.
 
Has anyone had any problems with the camera? the camera will come up but it is just blank, wont show anything and wont take a picture, also the camcorder doesn't show up either.

OK - I have a couple of questions.

1. Is there a built in screen shot tool like CM7 has?
2. How can I get the stock ringtones? I like what I had and those are all completely done

1. Yes just press volume down and menu.
2. Should be able to get them from a system dump somewhere.


@Rick: change the res to something not widescren

Go into settings and change the resolution to anything but widescreen. I use the highest. :)
 
Man - I just stuck go launcher onto this thing and the ROM went friggin berserk. I think I'm going back to CM until I have time to really mess with this
 
Had this for 3 days now going good till I powered down and pulled the battery. The phone would not sync. I noticed the date was wrong and set the current date now all is good.
 
I'm trying to change out the stock boot animation. where should i drop the new boot animation? is it the /data/local folder? thanks in advance.
 
I've been running MIUI all day today and I must say I've very impressed. Liking it so far.

One thing I haven't seen anyone talk about in this thread or the thread in the OP, is the baseband.

MIUI is reporting BP_C_01.09.07P. But, when I was running other gingerbread ROMS like ApeX, I'm pretty sure it was .12. Is the MIUI ROM not up-to-date?

no its based off CM7 which when you follow the steps to install Cm7 you end up with the 7P BB abd the froyo kernel. Some have not followed the steps correctly and/or flashed the new BB thinking they would get better reception, but thats a 50/50 thing, some have reported they've gotten better reception with the 7P over the 12P.
 
Is anyone that is using Go Launcher with this able to get the direct dial to work with a dock swipe gesture? When I try to use it I get the following pop-up but when I press "Allow" I can't actually press it, after the timer counts down to 0 Go Launcher Force Closes.

Have you tried going to Settings > Programs > Call Settings, then scrolling down and turning third-party access on?
 
Sorry, I don't use Go - was just speculating since I knew that security feature existed.
 
This is a clean looking rom, but battery life is rediculous. I flashed this and had my screen on and it would literally decreasing like a ticking time bomb. Didn't even want to try to give it a chance to cache.

Really?

I ran this ROM for a few days and thought battery life was great. Especially when compared to cm7. :cool:
 
Most are reporting good battery life. I've dropped about 40% in 3 hours of constant use because I was setting the phone up. I'm going to give it a few days to settle in and see where it gets me.

Jury is still out on if I like the iOS look/feel.

Roger that let us know. Im on another ROM now due to bluetooth problems with MIUI. More on that in a bit.

As for the iOS feel, theme it up brother! So many cool ones to choose from. If you feel included, install a different launcher and you're good to go!

Oh noooooooo BT problems? I thought it was just the commands that were wonky? What are you on now?!? lol

Yeah, I have but the large icons drive me a little batty. I'm using Alt drawer with a combo of like 3 different themes and a lock screen theme. still not quite were I want it but there aren't as many status bar themes as I was hoping for.

Interesting. I have had pretty good battery life. no issues at all.
