Root [rom] miui4dx 1.8.19[updated 8/23/2011]

nah miui just isnt for me in all honesty, it looks nice, but the whole iphone look just doesnt appeal to me, however it is very nice, and quite stable, just the themes do change from screen to screen, if you havent noticed lol

and there is no cwr you have to use rom manager 2init

install go launcher (or some other launcher) = no more iphone feel

there is cwr there just is a bug to prevent you from easily getting to it.
for now
install terminal
su
reboot recovery
and you reboot into CWR

miui + go launcher is going to be my daily driver for now

No you don't. No blur means none of the widgets that come with the stock rom are on there which are the ones he likes. Can't we let steven pass this one up in peace!?!

YEAH! Can't you see I'm trying to sleep here? :p

So late last night I installed miui. None of my market apps would restore so I used titanium to restore them and everything worked fine so I went to sleep. Today I started getting constant reboots and force closes. I realized that I restored apps and data. The noob in me didn't think! Should I only restore apps without data? Thanks for the help, uk be face palming in the corner.

i use adw ex

and if you check your settings, it still looks too iphony and not android.. i prefer the android look and feel regardless

if you're gonna do that why not just stick to cm7 w/ the fixes lol since thats all it is anyhow.

just factory reset then restore from tibu without data

WOW!!!!! I just put this on this morning and I don't have it all set-up yet, but this is amazing. I have been playing with all the settings. I am giving the MIUI launcher a try and like being able to put all the apps in folders, just like I had down in my app drawer on GoLauncher. Let me say I am impressed, I was not going to give this a try because I liked CM7 so much. This has blown me away, it is fast and a lot of built in features that I was using other apps to do.

The other thing that has caught my eye is how quick this boots up. CM7 was taking over a minute to boot up and this takes less than 30 seconds. Count me in the group of believers. Can't wait to start playing with the themes and really make this thing rock!

it may have been said already..

i saw that the .1 patch came out..would like to flash it over the rom..tried to use DX bootstrapped ---> got stuck at M logo..think i need to SBF and reinstall..no big deal..

but, how do i get into the proper recovery in order to flash the patch? some people seem to be using RomManager?

Anyone successfully restored apps + data with Ti Backup?

I mean, it's built on the CM7 source, I'm not sure why restoring apps + data that work on CM7 would cause problems. I'm not talking about system data, just the individual app data.

Is this a problem restoring any app data, or does it only happen with certain apps?

Obviously many apps don't require much data, so I guess I could try picking and choosing - it was just always convenient to restore all apps + all app data because it kept me from having to rebuild all of my logins or game data or bookmarks or whatever other personalized data bits I had.

I know they don't recommend you do it...but I went ahead and restored my apps with data via Ti Backup. :)

I had no issues or FCs. I only have 90 apps to restore.

quick question..

i SBF'ed back and reinstalled the rom..

can i flash the patch over it while still in recovery?

or do i need to let it boot and then flash it somehow?

waiting seems like a good idea, better an extra 5-10 mins than having to sbf again right?

Let me know if flashing the patch while in recovery works (if you do it). ;)

Thinking of giving MIUI a try... :p

I'm just wondering how often and why you are rebooting so much that it really matters how long it takes to boot up (1min vs 1/2min)?

I've been looking for a theme similar to the default one. Anyone have some suggestions other than to look through the theme manager :p

i should've sucked it up and tried it..but, was already frustrated by having to do it a second time - a third would've been unacceptable haha..

sorry, didn't go that route..ended up getting into to cwr through terminal emulator.

You guys should just try it so you can see the differences for yourselves.

I may try it just to check it out, but not any time soon (I may change my mind though :D).
