Steven:
Did you ever flash this?

Not yet. Considering it seriously, though. In fact, I'm doing an up to date nandroid as I may charge the phone up and flash miui. You see, at this point, I don't hate iPhone as much as some here do. Who knows? It may cure me of my iPhone curiosity. One could say I'm I-curious. :p

Cool, I would love to hear you take on it.

Do it. I flashed this last night with some skepticism but have no regrets at all. For an initial release, this rom feels extremely smooth. I've read about some of the issues but everything I need my phone to do, it does.

Yes, it's iPhonish, but I use launcherpro Plus so I don't really notice it that much. And I absolutely love the IU in terms of menu layout, popups, button switches and other drawables.

And for those that ask what the benefit of this rom is if you're just going to overlay Launcherpro (or another launcher) on top of it, the answer is speed and smoothness. The first quadrant I ran was 2035. That was the highest first run quadrant score I've ever obtained. Even with CM4DX every initial quadrant run was under 2000. Only on my second and third run would I break through 2000. On my third run with MIUI, I got 2385. That was also the highest non-OCed score I ever got.

More importantly, you feel the speed when launching apps, moving between apps, etc... The only thing I wish it had was 720p video playback. But seeing how most of my video files are 480p it's really not that much of a problem.

This is what I feel I've been waiting for honestly. I haven't had much of a chance to interact with it but I'm testing it out and so far so good. I have to go work in the heat so I won't get much play time until tomorrow. I also installed the new market and it works fine

Just installed it and I can see the iOS UI elements throughout the ROM. I didn't like the default launcher because the app drawer is non-existent and the home screens are just like the iPhone. I've replaced the launcher with GO Launcher EX and I must say I really like this ROM.

My only gripe is there are a handful of apps I can't get to install, such as VZW Mobile.

Hello,
I just flashed MIUI last night, and I actually really liked it, but not having all of my apps was a deal breaker and I ended up flashing back to CM4DX today. The apps Where, Wells Fargo, Poynt, and My Verizon among others just disappeared. I figured since the rom is technically Chinese, there is a conflict in the market. All in all, I actually want to go back to MIUI with a different launcher. I spent 10 minutes looking through the menus trying to find a way to get my app drawer back before realizing it doesn't have one...

Anyway, I just have two questions... Anyone know of a fix for the missing app issue yet?

Also, in general.. Does CM7 and MIUI play nice with Droid X overclock? I want to get a stable overclock of 1.1 - 1.2 but need some good advice on which app is going to get it done without blowing up my phone or at least having to sbf. :D

Thanks,
Nate

Actually, I have all three. I'm a LPP man but am leaning toward go launcher because LPP gives me a black screen whenever I turn on the phone. Also, there is a tendency for LPP to force close after I reboot. Not big issues, but annoying..

They have a zip that will fix the market problem on the main forum for the rom

I just flashed MIUI on my DX. SBF'd to 340, wiped data/cache. Bootstrapped and installed. Everything is working well except my text messaging!

I can send texts fine, when someone sends me a text I see the notification pop up that I received a text from that person but the message doesn't show up in the MMS app! Only the messages that I have sent appear even though I am getting a notification saying that a new message has been received.

I do NOT get a notification in the status bar, only the pop-up notification on the lower 3/4 of the screen.

What do I do? I tried rebooting, and wiping data/cache for the MMS app.

Thanks!

nah miui just isnt for me in all honesty, it looks nice, but the whole iphone look just doesnt appeal to me, however it is very nice, and quite stable, just the themes do change from screen to screen, if you havent noticed lol

and there is no cwr you have to use rom manager 2init

Im doing it. But my phone looks just like it always does. I made my own icons images long ago and use desktop visualizer to start apps for the better part anyway. Change the wallpaper and there you go, no iphone appearance.
