Root [ROM][MODS] K3LSOMOD ROMS [updated 1-20-12] [ICS MINT THEME by PBOT Added]

I had that same problem on mine. I'm running a ROM that I put together myself tho and what seems to have fixed the google navigation problem is just deleting it from your system apps and then downloading the updated version and putting it back into your system apps and giving it the right permissions. I think the force closes are caused by id mismatches but I'm not completely sure.

I still have some Force Close issues using Navigation most times. It will FC, then still be in my status bar and open. Then close again. Seems pretty consistent. I tried doing what you said above, but Maps wouldn't open anymore and I reflashed the ROM, so I'm back to square one. So after you delete it, download new one from market, or from where? Kinda confused. Yet I get the idea I still don't fully understand, explain a bit better? Sorry. LOL.

Other then that, this is a great ROM and have the ICS theme and everything seems very good. Just navigation acts up a bit.

EDIT: I have noticed now the Speed Test app tests the entire length of the test now. I assume thats the ICS theme with the throttle removed? Either way I still only get about 90-120 kbps. Better, more consistent but still slowww! lol

Sorry to double post, but I have a few concerns and questions.

First, great rom! I have been using it for a while now and prefer it over the CM7's most of the time.

Since I have flashed this rom, I also flashed the 2.2.1. OC kernel, ICS theme and the "senseish" power widgets. Everything works great except Navigation and Maps. Always getting Force Closes, and then reappears in the status bar but to be FC'ed again.

If I remember, I reflashed the rom and the power Widgets remained. How would one go about getting the ones that came with the rom? Is that just the list of flashable icons? Not my main concern.

Does anyone feel that since I flashed the 2.2.1 OC kernel would that affect gps or navigation functions? The Optimus I'm using now is one that didn't have reboot issues to begin with.

I do have another one, but dont know how long or easy the *228 switching phones is. That one had reboot issues only when activated. It has never rebooted on me since I flashed the Kelsomod/cm7 roms and have had the service off.

Opinions? Suggestions? Has the OP any information on this or anyone having the same navigation and maps problem? Its a shame cause its a great stock rom that I like but just can't get me "unlost lol.

I suggest start from scratch. Full wipe and reflash the rom. Don't flash a theme. Then they your navigation and maps. Then let me know if its still messing up for you.

thanks for the reply, I use GNM recovery and notice that there are full data factory reset and wipe...so I usually do both and then cache and dalvik. I'm not sure I'm digging the blue ICS status bar as much now anyway. But I will start fresh and see what happens. I know after I wipe the Google apps will be older, should I restore app and data for newer version of maps from titanium backup or from market?

No. Just flash the rom and once your booted up,just go into the market and update your apps. Then see how it goes.

ok so I wiped everything and re-flashed the rom with no ICS theme this time. seems as though my gps is more accurate, responsive and hasn't forced closed since. I haven't drove anywhere but will shortly. Now that I have all my apps/games restored and back to normal I noticed the speech for navigation had to be re-installed (I already expected that). but noticed it said something about tts, I believe that was frozen in TiBackup so it probably was from that...I dont know for sure but I believe I remember seeing that highlighted in blue. So it might of been my son messing with it one day or I froze it and didn't see any negative effects at that time, so I left it frozen. But like I said, I could be wrong on what was frozen cause I usually backup and uninstall rather then freeze. idk, but it seems ok at the moment! Thanks for the reply and I see your active on the HTC boards, I'm sure everyone here appreciates your work even though u dont use the Optimus primarily. I do!

If you wiped and re-flashed there shouldn't be anything frozen unless you froze it after you flashed.

Just make sure nothing is frozen.

nothing is frozen after I flashed. I was saying that before I flashed when I was having the gps and navigation FC's I may of had something frozen. either by me or mistake. but all seems good now. thanks.

Once someone flashes a theme (ICS or Mint) how would they revert back to the normal theme that came with the rom?

I had the ics theme and liked it but redid it all and haven't flashed it back yet. I was curious if you had to re-flash just to make it look normal....

You can replace the files in the theme zip with the original files from the ROM and just flash like u would for theme.

Replace the files in the theme zip with the original files in the rom, then flash in recovery.

Thats normal when you flash the internet throttle which is on the ics theme

It took me a while to figure out how to flash and restore my apps in the right sequence so that my music, email, and swype would work right. But I figured it out eventually. I don't know how to overclock it yet (if its possible). And my clock isn't visible (at the top right of screen).

Btw if your having problems with apps force closing try flashing in the method I used.

Wipe all user data, flash R.O.M, flash kernel, reboot, select language, and hit next to skip the facebook Twitter etc part, power off the phone, reboot into recovery, flash the ICS theme, reboot.

Re-enter your app information manually because it seems as if titanium backup pro will overwrite your apps+data for newer 2.3.7 versions of music or other apps and it will cause them to force close. (At least that was the case for me)

ok i was using the joidie sense rom and decided to try this one well it install ok but i don't see titanium back up also i lost my recovery and root explorer set cpu

reflash, make sure u wipe, then wipe dalvik-cache, then battery stats, after ur battery is 100% charged, wipe battery stats again to calibrate the battery

i install this rom and now i don't have recovery which i had before and rooted using joidie sense rom and it says it has titanium back up i don't see it any guidance or advice is needed thanks

what do u mean by recovery???
Do you mean Flash GUI or the custom recovery?
You get into recovery by pressing vol down+home key+power while the phone is off

How did you manage to flash a custom ROM if it removes custom recovery??? Did you use adb or some special file you downloaded to flash the ROM??

how can you call this a stock rom, when you took out the lg home launcher and stuck in ADW? I hate ADW, you should have left that choice upto us. Now i don't have the stock launcher.

Dude, if ya hate that much don't use it. Otherwise just pull the lghome from a system backup.

Not to mention ADW blows the stock launcher out if the water. ;)
