Root [ROM] MTDEV-CM7 build 2013-03-03

Ok, now things are getting weirder. I tried to take a picture and the camera app is saying: "Activity Camera (in application Camera) is not responding."

I can see what I am pointing at but touching the screen, touching the "take a picture button" or trying to switch to video just brings up the "Sorry" dialogue.

My camera was fine on Sunday (as I was complaining about the low flash blurry picture issue).

I rebooted 4x now. I put an older backup on and it is still doing the same thing.

Any ideas?

I've installed Tinkerguys CM7, along with the 9/26 version (which had similar issues). My main issue is that I cannot get wifi and bluetooth to work at the same time. I was under the impression that that issue was fixed with these most recent builds but I appear to be having the same issue. I reverted to the 9/21 build which seems to be more functional but still has this same issue. Has there been any progress on this?

It took me a few tries before I was able to get to this post! Maybe that's why they have that app for forums.

@McPhotographer
I am able to use wifi with a bluetooth keyboard without any issues on the current 9/26 build. What type of bluetooth device are you using with it?

Wifi doesn't seem completely stable.
Yesterday and this morning I had an issue where I see the wifi logo, in gray and it changes to blue after about a minute. I check the status and it says connected at 54mbit or something and all seems well even in logcat.
But nothing opens - the phone is connected yet not connected to wifi.

On both occasionas I have tried to connect to a local host and router unsuccessfully. I have tried airplane mode, I have tried to toggle wireless on and off (giving it 15 seconds in between). I have tried to iso isolate the issue by restarting the router and phone independantly and under all conditions it points to the phone being strange. Oh and in my androidstatus app it reports a proper IP of 192.168.0.8

Is this a common bug or do I have something unique here? Is there anything I can do to help profide more information? I'm at work right now but if you want I can post the logcat afterwork.

So my phone was working great till today, I can still make phone calls but no data unless on wifi. I had installed Juice Defender yesterday but removed it today. I have pulled battery, waited and no luck. Thanks.

There's a data widget in the power bar. Look for it where you set the buttons and enable it, then look for its state. By the way, out looks like two arrows pointing up and down.

Been running the latest version ever since its release...started having the late text issue again for the past two days..don't think it's on vms end though

Just noticed that the new YouTube app is extremely choppy when set to HQ mode now.

Previous versions of the app worked fine on HQ, so I'm not sure if it's the app's fault or something changed in the ROM to cause it.

I just watched SideStrafe's latest DayZ video (from 10/6) in HQ mode and it didn't stutter or have any choppiness at all. I was using wi-fi. My YouTube app is up-to-date according to the Play Store.

Still extremely choppy for me when viewing any HQ video in the app (I tried 5-6).

App version is 4.1.23 and I am also using WiFi.

Will try deleting the app and reinstalling to see if that does anything.

(Edit) No dice, exactly the same after removing, rebooting and reinstalling.

Also tried clearing both caches in recovery; no effect.

Kinda out of options.

I just double-checked my YouTube app and it's also at v4.1.23 so I din't think there is a problem with that version of the app. Have you tried uninstalling & reinstalling the app?

I also played one of LvlCap's videos in HQ and it was also smooth.

Yeah, any video on the Youtube app seems to have the same issue when playing in HQ.

Are you using the 9/26 version of CM7?

(Edit) Yeah I'm an idiot.

I could have sworn that I flashed 9/26 but it turns out I was still on 9/23 with the documented video problems.

As soon as I flashed to 9/26 all HQ videos started working fine again.

User error strikes again!

Let me just say I love the battery life in this ROM.

I plug the phone in at night "just in case"

From 7am to 10pm, with moderate use, the phone is only down to 75% most days when I plug it back in at 10pm.

Nice job guys!

I've found I just need to watch my backroud syncing. I have an email app that loves to sync. I get my email quickly, but it eats up my battery. Then I discovered the mobile data control widget in the power widget.

Yes synching is an issue, I usually have that function turned off unless I'm away from home for a period of time. Bluetooth or wireless connections affect it also, but again, I leave them disabled unless needed.

Tried both, no joy.
WiFi signal goes Full then nothing.
Can something come loose?

Try the stock rom then. If that doesn't work, then you need a replacement from VM. If it does work, I don't know what to tell you.

I'm having the same issue. I had to ship my phone back to VM and get a replacement, so going thru the whole setup process again. I tried this ROM, plus... can't remember the name off the top of my head, something Star Trek themed, based on this ROM.

Both dropped WiFi constantly. Flashed back to stock and the issue was resolved. Reflashed both ROMs and issue still there.

I found my previous ROM on my sdcard and flashed... It's a Tinkerguy ROM.... CM7-TG-Reloaded-2012-03-25.zip. I'm having no WiFi problems with this ROM.

Any ideas? I know I'd rather have the up to date ROMs as I see there have been tons of improvements, but I obviously need my WiFi to work.

Has anyone using the 10/6 test build had a chance to test out Bluetooth? I broke my headset and haven’t had an opportunity. Did some reworking of the wifi / blutooth files and trying to insure there hasn't been any issues in that build before doing any additional work or releasing.
