Root [ROM] MTDEV-CM7 build 2013-03-03

Its not just me Chairshot and dsmryder have been a big help. The more time we spend on 7 the more we will take to 9 and rock it. All in good time!
Cool.Yeah got to start somewhere first before you can move on.I know alot of people REALLY want an ICS ROM with working cam over the CM7 but it seems like you nearly have CM7 working with everything which is a plus.If you crack CM7 I'm sure you can rock CM9.Everyone keep up the good work!!

One problem with ICS is Google made major changes to the architecture. That's partially why honeycomb was not released for phones. There is a long thread on just the framework of you want your head to explode. One of the things Google wanted to do was to get back to a more main line kernel. That's where our main issues are in the code. The drivers wee have don't all seem to work with the kernel. I wonder if we could create a hybrid kernel to keep the parts that don't work, working?

Anyway, it's hard to swype in bed without my contacts.

Once again I'm amazed at the community that has sprung up around our phone. Thank you all for the amazing roms you guys are turning out!

So today I watched 3 vids on youtube. Two out of the three videos I noticed the White Capacitive Touch buttons flickering off and on. These were all in landscape mode and not HQ. The rythym of flicker (for the capactive button lights) seemed to match the rythym of screen flicker when I turned the phone to protrait.
I'm running the 8-01 version of this rom, with ADW launcher, and G60's Cyano-Cream theme. Oh, and yes I did a clean wipe and install.

Thanks again for all the work each of you has put into this and your previous ROMs. With this phone and our community everyday is like Christmas, when I get the opportunity I open the forums to see just what might be under the tree today!

Ok, thats strange. Now I'm getting a random capacitive button lights on and off while listening to a streaming audio book. I'm going to go back to another ROM to see if it is something to do with the ROM or if it might not just be my phone.

Ugh..

Well, I don't know what that was. Ran fine for a coupl days with out the flashing buttons, then yesterday it began. Wiped, flashed bsyds 2.2 sharp, problem went away. Then wiped again and reflashed this rom and problem seems to be gone. Oh well! Happy to have things back to the way they were before the fritzing lights. :)

I think I have mentioned it somewherer else, but this is what I mean about a good post for diagnostic purposes. adjr mentioned that the phone was wiped and what version of the ROM it is.

Now back to the light flickering. This has been mentioned back when TickerGuy was building the ROM. I think it's' a setting. Likr I asked someone else, would you mind posting your setings for your backlight? And I mean all of them, light sensor filter, allow light decrease and maybe a sxreenshot of your light sensor levels.

There is one thing weird that I noticed while using this ROM. When I flashed the CM7 thunderprop my status bar icons(wifi, battery, signal) changed from blue to green. I thought that was strange. It is not a big issue at all, but just something that I thought I should point out.

Thanks to all the developers for their hard work. This is a pretty stable and smooth rom. I have been having two issues. First is that the volume is low after every text message. And it won't let me post a voice recording on a message. Not sure if this has been brought to your attention. I know this is still in the beta stage. But man this is hands down the best. Thanks to developers current and past for there dedication.

Did you do anything else. It seems that you may have removed the cyanobread.apk
That's the theam package. I don't think that thunderprop would do that, but I haven't used it either. I might look at the install script to see of there's a clue, but I doubt it.

The volume issue has been fixed. What version are you on? It is possible that you have a bad flash, looking at the MMS issue. Are you using the stock messenger?

I did not do anything else. I just flashed the CM7 thunderprop so I can play all my Gameloft games that's all. Actually all my colors have changed. It is just a weird issue. It does not detract from the ROM at all though.

I have the latest rom and I am the stock messenger. Thanks for the help.

Well, the thunderprop doesn't do anything beyond replaceng the build.prop
If you want, sense I don't think it should matter, try to see if you have the theam manager and the theams.

I am pretty sure that the theme is at the bottom of the build.prop, so if it has changed and the new ROM doesn't have it it may have changed settings but not the theme. Take a look at the bottom ten lines or so, can't remember exactly but it was there when I was messing with CM7 a few months ago. Hope this helps.

Funny I remember looking at the ThunderProp a few month back because I had used a themein another project and could have swore it had the lines setting Cyanobread. Just checked the thread,

http://androidforums.com/triumph-al...ld-prop-market-access-updated-2-5-2012-a.html

but it is for TG's b08 and Tickerguy did not set Cyanobread so took a look again and the lines are not present so that would make sense. Could have swore they had been but guess not. Would just need to select the Cyanobread theme again in the Theme chooser app and all should go back to how it was before adding the ThunderProp.

What I have done is changed the thunderprop hack that was originally done by jollyroger and kinda merged it with our own build prop.

Testers Wanted!

I would like people to tell me if there's an issue. I can actually do some research on this one. As of right now, I just did what looked obvious to me.

Unfortunately I did not save a backup before I reflashed this version of this rom. So I can't tell you exactly what the settings were. The problem disappeared with clean wipe and install.

I can tell you this: To adjust brightness I used the included "power control" widget and I don't mess with the preset levels. As I recall, pretty sure it was set to the middle brightness (not automatic) but can't swear to it not being set to automatic. Also, it showed up the first time while viewing a youtube video and the second while streaming an audio book using the "Audiobooks" App by "traveling classics". Interesting to me is both times it was streaming media. Hope this helps?

Incredible job guys! This thing keeps getting drastically better ever time I check on it! Now the camera is 75% working! Great job! At this rate, the camera will be sorted out in no time, and the ROM will be suitable 100% for daily use. (Although it's already my daily driver).

This build is so smooth and so stable and battery life is decent compared to other android phones and just stupendous compared to other triumph roms. Keep up the good work g60 and thank you.

One thing though...on the pre 8/6 builds temple run played fine and wouldn't freeze. And with the new 8/6 build temple run freezes. I think it has to do with the new GPU drivers.

Just installed and same thing happened. Was playing fine an locked up and forced a reboot. The fact they had an issue due to a third party plugin I'm leaning to the app having problems as no one else is posted issues with games in general. Ill keep an eye on this though.

Has anyone tried using the Mobster Tweaks on this CM7? Has it done any good, or are the fixes already in place? I flashed it with the first couple builds, but didn't really have any reference points.

I've got plenty of high-end games. I'll test anything from Angry Birds to Need for Speed. If I run into any compatibility issues I'll get back to you. ;) Maybe I should make a compatibility chart with all the known games and share it with you guys... Then we could see if the modified build.prop helps. I don't have the time to play any game all the way through, but I can see if any games are causing forced reboots... UPDATE: Uh-oh. Remember the Wifi deep-sleep bug? Where the phone would get the "sleep of death", and a battery pull would be required to turn it back on? Well, that just happened to me with the latest build! Didn't happen with earlier builds. Could be my power manager doing it, though. If anyone else can reproduce this bug, maybe we should take note of it.

There has been a lot of work that went into our build.prop that includes most of the things that Mobstergunz has put in Mobster Tweaks. If you do decide to use it, report anything that changes with you phone. I can do a psudo merge if it makes an improvement. There are more parts to this. I think I'll give it a try sense I'm not able to build just yet.

By the way, the genreosity of the community here at AF will accellerate the acuasition of a system for me to build with. When I'm done, I'll have a simular system that chairshot and g60 have. Major reduction of build time.

Thank you
