Root [ROM] MTDEV-CM9 build 20130120 [BETA]

I rebooted into recovery, wiped data/cache/dalvik and flashed zip again. I don't remember if I restarted using the rom.

It does sound like the error was on my side somewhere.. For now I have CM7 running almost perfect. A couple months down the road I will likely try CM9 again and hope for the best. Thanks for your help.

It seems like many users who try to flash from cm7 have problems. I wonder if CWM is always properly updating the boot image during the flash of the new rom. What version of CWM are you using? I know that some versions have had some bugs in it. Maybe next time to try to flash CM9, you can check what kernel is installed in "About Phone."

A month without a ROM update... that makes for one saaaaaaaad panda... Thanks for all the hard work guys, I guess it is time to move on to the Galaxy S II. O Triumph, you were a piece of crap, but somehow MTDEV was able to shine you up.

I can make updates for the sake of updates. Unfortunately I don't have the time that some of the other DEVs had/have, or their know how.
I am perfectly willing to show anybody what I know and hope that someone can take things further than I would be able to.

That wasn't a complaint that you guys aren't doing enough, just observing that development has ground to a halt. I think it is just the end of the triumphs lifetime. MTDEV (and others like Tickerguy of course) is the only reason the turd that is the Moto Triumph was any good at all.

I think we are all just hoping that some new Rockstar is going to take the reins and keep Triumph Development alive. It seems like the pattern is that someone will pick it up for a few months, make some great progress, then move on, then someone else will do the same. I'll wait it out with the triumph for a while, but if nothing big happens I'll probably bite the bullet and move to one of the newer phones. BTW if anyone want's a triumph with a grandfathered $25 plan PM me, I'll sell now if the price is right.

You'd have to sell the phone with the account, as the account is not transferrable to new owner... that would mean giving up your phone number too.

Just so you know, $25 dollar plans aren't really "grandfathered." You just have to initially go with the $35 and then change to the $25 option right on virginmobileusa.com after you activate. I can confirm this because I changed mine myself! :smokingsomb:

Yeah you can. I don't think it's true with phone models that came after the Triumph, but I can confirm it works with the Triumph, Optimus V, and Intercept. Might as well do it, they gave us no updates, so why should we care?

Yes, you still get the 300 minutes just like everyone else. It is the same as the $35 plan, but it is only for older phones (like the Triumph)

I believe that this ability to change to the 25 dollar plan was a bug on the VM website. VM has fixed the bug and you can no longer change to the $25 plan. It was good for a while ( I did it myself).

Thanks for your work on this ROM. So far I like it a lot, but I've noticed that my google navigation and maps seem to lock up. I am not geographically challenged so my work around is not to use the maps or the navigation feature. Has anyone else experienced this issue, and is there a work around/fix for this issue? I did a factory reset before installation, and wiped cache's before installation. Any other suggestions. (well I just got an update of google maps, and then it all started working, so .... nevermind)

I think for the sake of the community I'll work on a stable version with out the camera in mind. Just to make sure it's here.

PS, it might be an earlier version that g60 did in the past.

Someone should try getting cm10 as stable as cm9 without worrying about the camera for now.

If I remember correctly, CM10 barely booted on our phone. If I get the Android development book for christmas I will be albe to learn more and make better changes to the Java side of things. As far as the C and C++ stuff though, that may still take an outsider.

Okay, as least you guys are trying. You devs have done more for us than Motorola/virgin could ever do.

I know C++ and would be interested in helping out with development. ( I am certainly not an expert in the language, but it's what I program in at work so I like to think I'm not completely incompetent) I've been using cm7/cm9 for awhile now and I'd like to give something back if I can now that I have a desktop that can actually build it! I haven't tried using cm10 yet, but I'll probably try it out this weekend.

I'm also hopefully picking up my brothers old triumph next week so I'd have a dev phone to work with too.
That said, I'm just not sure where to jump in, i know getting the camera working would be sweet, but I've been following the posts for awhile and unfortunately that seems a bit beyond my current expertise.

Also I'd just like to say thanks to everyone who's been contributing here. You guys are all awesome! - I would've gotten a new phone months ago if it wasn't for all your hard work!

I think the first place to start is getting you used to git. Assuming you aren't using it now. We can start another thread on building if you want. The details is where I get lost. I can show you and anyone else who wants to know set up your system and get it to spit out a ROM. From there I can show you how I work with git and run my internal tests.

Anyway, holla

My root acess is gone??!? Titanium backup wont work and other apps are saying I need to be rooted...

Had this happen to me. Quick fix is download the gingerbreak.apk and rerun it. In the future do not format the system partition in CWM
