Root [ROM] MTDEV-CM9 build 20130120 [BETA]

Well looks like virgin mobile robbed somebody else, sorry

I know VM leaves a sour taste in your mouth, however you have to also remember how much we are paying a month for service. Even the big mobile providers jack there customers as well when it comes to updates. It's why the community will continue to support Developers on all levels because we all work to better the phone. I mean look at the Triumph, MT and VM blew is off and now we are so close to finally having a working camera and Ice Cream Sandwich, but even before that TickerGuy and IssacJ came to the rescue to make the Triumph what it is for the community, and why people still buy it.

Happy New year to the Motorola Triumph Devs and community!
You can bitch about the tiny things, BUT
MT is still the best smart phone bang for the $25mo buck we pay!

When MTDEV finally gets the camera working for ICS on the Triumph, You G60 should send a kind letter to the CEO of Motorola Thanking them for their support of MTDEV's efforts and include some screenshots of the fully working ICS on the Triumph!!! Bet that would really frost their cookies.:D:D Motorola is a little to arrogant for their own good.

Yea.. I doubt the CEO of Motorola has even heard of the triumph.

what excites me the most other then the fact that the camera is actually alive now is that with the close to being guaranteed possibility of getting this 4.0 rom fully working, imagine where it can go from here on now considering of course you DEV's ever want to put yourselves through the hell this project has brought to you.

∙ Fixed Power Profile Settings - Big thanks to jhonka232
∙ VPN added back in
∙ Partial Camera Video/Camera display but no recording
∙ Panorama takes pictures but poor quality

The camera is still no functioning completely. The main reason for the release of this ROM was the fixed power profiles thanks to jhonka232, and VPN access for those of you that use it.

Nice birthday present (5-0 today!! eeeek)

Still waiting for more functional camera, but I'm still amazed at what you guys do... keep it up!

I can't afford to go to a different phone, but I know this will be a fully functional ROM before long :)

The new title to the thread states build "20130106 [BETA]" but when I go to the ROM browser, the latest ROM is 20121113. Am I missing something?

---from the newb--- 'fixed power profiles' < does this mean battery will last longer? seems like with cm7 the battery lasts about 25-30% longer than cm9. Does that seem about right? if not I'll test out cm9 some more. Thanks G60 and gang!!!

The power profiles are the listing of apps or hardware using battery life based on percentages. This was a feature missing in cm9. It doesn't help with battery life, just shows what's eating it. Which in turn will help you possible save specially if you have a rouge app.

Where did he get his numbers from?

I believe dsmryder was explaining to me that there was the same exact issue in CM7 yesterday. Explain it to him and we may be able to fix the funky battery stats issues on CM7.

With CM7.2 and very minimal use I was at 40-50% by the end of the day. With CM9 im at 70%. My results suggest CM9 is much better with battery.

Oh, no doubt that ICS has better battery handling than previous versions. One thing that many people don't seem to understand is that their apps play the biggest role in their battery life.

For me it was my Yahoo mail app that kept updating every time I got an email. It sounds nice, but I get a bunch of mail that I couldn't care less about. And the mail that I do care about I can get to later when I open the app. I wish there was a setting to control the connection. I know they use the brodcast method of checking, but with a few emails an hour my phone is awake and updating a lot.

How are you guys faring with gaming? I tried playing family feud and I kept getting rebooted. Its not a high end, 3d game. I also tried playing shadowgun, which used to be able to run for a least a little while but now just reboots.

same thing happened on cm7 with the same game

when playing family fued or spider man u must make sure everything else is off and i have my mt over clocked at 1.6 this was the only way to get the reboots to stop but u will still get them once in a while just not often

Is anyone else having trouble getting this to work? I've wiped data, cache, and dalvik then installed CM9 (01-06-2013) and the proper gapps. When I reboot, it hangs at the boot logo. I've tried CWM 5.5.0.4 and even reverted back to 5.0.2.7, still hangs at boot logo. I checked the md5sum of the zip files on my sdcard, and they match whats on the download site. I can restore back to CM7 with no problems, but CM9 will not boot. I waited 20 minutes last night just in case it was taking a long time, still no luck. Any ideas?

UPDATE: I also just tried CWM 6.0.1.9, did a factory reset, cleared both caches, and have the same results. Stuck at the boot logo.

Okay try this instead clear data, cache and factory reset it only this time don't install gapps with it and if it makes it work then go to your browser go to 4shared.com and make an account (implying you don't already have one :P) then type in google play store and installed it. This is just a guess though and a possible solution

Omg camera finally, i had downgraded a month ago cause of the semi-giving up on camera...Glad to see you guys never gave up, upgrading immediately... no regrets downgrading as i was in a car accident a week ago and needed a camera in cm7.
