Root [ROM][PORT][FINAL] MIUI 1.11.25-Triumph | 113011-2 (GB 2.3.7 based)

I don’t necessarily fear the big bad Miui any more than I do big bad Microsoft, apple or Google, which is not all that much. As a general rule I don’t keep sensitive information on my phone and never make a purchase with my debit card unless it has previously been registered with whom I am making the purchase. Even on stock I would be hesitant on sending my information to a vender I have not dealt with or requires that you re-enter your information with every purchase. I’m sure they probably do some sort of data mining like the others witch I don’t mind but I’m sure if they have been doing anything drastic someone would have picked up on it by now. So until I hear something along the lines of hundreds of Android users woke up this morning to find their bank accounts drained, their girlfriends missing and obnoxious Facebook messages sent to their mothers I will continue to use and love the Rom.

For those who say this Rom is just an iphone rip-off I will say that at first boot the Rom appear to be just that but if you dig just a bit further you will find that this is not the case at all. Last night I seriously ended up blowing off all my plans and spent hours in the Edit Theme options and can say that my phone is now very unique and one of a kind. I think a Miui screen shot forum is in order so this misconception can be put to bed. Long live Miui on the Triumph, key ji.

I agree. MIUI has made my phone unique and awesome.

Edit: everyone get the phandroid app., We can access the forums from our phones then!

The fix for haptic feedback on the cap keys in CM7 is applicable to MIUI. It will be included in the next build.

FYI, the versioning for future MIUI builds will be the following:

Code:
miuiandroid_Triumph-MIUIBUILD-MMDDYY-REVISION
I've truncated the date.

Happy MIUI-ing.

hey isaac! when did your developer title change? lol "rom developer" (you deserve it man! :D )

I made a request for it a couple days back to the admins of AF. It has a few nice perks with the title. The biggest one being I have my own section now: ikarosdev - Android Forums

cool! i want to start theming for this phone like i did for my intercept. then maybe i could request a "themer" title! :D i like to do more porting that creating if you know what i mean...

EDIT: do you have any theme suggestions?

The haptic feedback needs some tweaking (in MIUI and CM7). It's vibration behavior is just strange. I'm still working on this.

EDIT: What do you guys think? Should the feedback be more "intense" or should it be subtle.

With Tickerguy leaving us for T-Mobil I think the least anyone who is using this Rom can do is throw Isaac a few dollars to make his continued efforts worth the trouble. I honestly believe without him and Tickerguys work the $300 we put out for our phones would have been worthless as the stock Rom was both an embarrassment and an insult to both the user and the phones hardware. Anyway I

could you implement a selection? like when we flash the rom we get a choice of how strong we want the vibration....

It already exists, but for some reason it's hidden and it doesn't seem to save your choices. If you install Google Gestures from the Market and use that to search for "H" you can find the haptic feedback settings.

My opinion is that in general being subtle is the best thing for most situations. Know one likes an obnoxious bastard, including phones.

Hmm. I would like it a bit more subtle. It feels a bit much (add to the fact that my vibration motor in the phone makes a very weird, very loud buzzing noise). Subtle would be better- we would know we are touching a key without making it too loud or long.

I do think it should be subtle as well. This phone when it vibrates at full power it's strong enough to knock itself off of a ledge. It has already. -.- (Thank goodness for sturdy covers).

I also think it won't be as annoying if it's not as intense as the normal vibration is.

Seconded!

i let my phone sit overnight and lost 20%+ or so. wifi and data were both off. i did a system wipe before flashing. will doing a full data reset help?

I think I've found the right balance. Some oddities I noticed was that it would vibrate twice. It happens so quickly that you can barely notice it, but it'll vibrate when you press *and* when you lift. I changed it so it has one subtle vibrate on the press. It feels nice. You feel it, but it's nothing too rattling or distracting.

OFF TOPIC

isaac... did you ever find out what partition that battery charging animation is in? you know when the phone is completely off and charging... if so can you inform me of which one so i can look at it please. thanks :D

Registered to thank you for your hard work and give some input from my device.

I've got two pet peeves with this rom - I cannot enable Haptic Feedback on the android keyboard AT ALL, and my battery drains much faster than the most recent CM7 rom. It's draining about 10% per hour with minimal use and juice defender enabled on the "aggressive" setting. The drain when idle is negligible but when I'm actively using the device (checking email, twitter, sms, very light web browsing, etc) it drains incredibly fast. I've got the same 'setup' on this rom that I did on CM7.

My only other complaint is the lack of sms splitting in the stock app, but obviously as this app is closed source nothing can be done about it.

It's absolutely beautiful though. I can't overstate how appreciative I am of all the hard work that has gone into MIUI and CM7 on the Triumph. Cheers!

Everything you here is broken upstream (i.e. it's broken for all MIUI devices).

Believe it or not, I get terrible battery life with JD. I removed it and my battery as been much better. YMMV. I've already expressed my thoughts on battery life and I will not investigate this issue anymore. There are way too many factors to consider. It's true, MIUI is "heavier" than CM7 (it's more graphically intense), so if you're needing something "lighter" I suggest sticking with CM7. That said, I'm getting pretty good battery life on the latest build.

As for the haptic feedback on the keyboard, I use the Gingerbread keyboard (Steven Lin) from the market. It's the exact same keyboard as the stock 2.3 with some handy tweaks. Haptic feedback in that keyboard works. Until MIUI fixes this problem, we're SOL.

I'm currently back on CM7 (working on HDMI) and I miss my MIUI. It really is a unique Android experience. AFAIK, we're the only prepaid phone to have MIUI. Furthermore, there are so many postpaid phones that don't have the opportunity to run MIUI. It's really hard to believe. :)

Are you on the current build? The previous build did have some bad battery life. On the current build with JD ran my phone from 12pm to 1am and still had bout 19% that is with texting, downloaded 2 songs and moderate web browsing

Does anyone know any apps besides System Panel (which costs money and has a layout that hurts my eyes) that will log app battery use? I figure it would be better if I could nail my problems onto a single app and get rid of battery issues once and for all.

EDIT: Checked out MIUI's built in monitor. Surprisingly full featured and very nice- didn't expect that, I thought it would be the standard battery use monitor. VERY detailed info, I suggest everyone check it out.

Isaac, I think I found the problem. The "Dialer" app used 32% of my battery. Weird.
