Root [ROM][PORT][FINAL] MIUI 1.11.25-Triumph | 113011-2 (GB 2.3.7 based)

Everything you here is broken upstream (i.e. it's broken for all MIUI devices).

Believe it or not, I get terrible battery life with JD. I removed it and my battery as been much better. YMMV. I've already expressed my thoughts on battery life and I will not investigate this issue anymore. There are way too many factors to consider. It's true, MIUI is "heavier" than CM7 (it's more graphically intense), so if you're needing something "lighter" I suggest sticking with CM7. That said, I'm getting pretty good battery life on the latest build.

As for the haptic feedback on the keyboard, I use the Gingerbread keyboard (Steven Lin) from the market. It's the exact same keyboard as the stock 2.3 with some handy tweaks. Haptic feedback in that keyboard works. Until MIUI fixes this problem, we're SOL.

I'm currently back on CM7 (working on HDMI) and I miss my MIUI. It really is a unique Android experience. AFAIK, we're the only prepaid phone to have MIUI. Furthermore, there are so many postpaid phones that don't have the opportunity to run MIUI. It's really hard to believe. :)

Thanks for the response! I'm glad to know that my issues are "normal" compared to the rest of the triumph users running this rom. At least I know I didn't botch anything myself. I'll install the keyboard you mentioned, and try some other tweaks to see if I can get more battery life out. I've got an Anker PowerBank that I keep in my jacket so it's really a non-issue with that figured in.

Thanks again for all your hard work. You and tickerguy have both really made this phone a treat to use and with as much as I use mine, that's an immeasurable increase in value.

I uploaded a pic of battery usage.

I uploaded a pic of battery usage.

Im not sure if that counts it say its been off the charger for 1 second??? I believe it starts monitoring usage after its unplugged and resets when its plugged in. Perhaps if it were left off charger from 100% to like 10% it'd be more accurate

here is an accurate view of semi-heavy usage (SetCPU@: 1024-768 "on demand") on miui; 5hrs on a new battery brings it to 72%;

This is pretty regular for me and i usually get about 16-20 hrs total e.g. today at work 16 hrs took me to 23% -2am to 6pm- (yes, i work ridiculous hours) w/ ~8hrs of music & ~2hrs of GPS Navigation.

The spike in the middle of the graph is a "battery swap";
I kept radios off for the first couple of hours, & plugged it in for 10 minutes: (graph only shows from 4am to 12am (now) but you can see that it went down progressively from hour 4 (4am) until hour 18 (6pm))

I'll try resetting my battery stats and using that specific setCPU profile to try to replicate that because that is lightyears away of what I'm getting.

I'm wondering how people are defining "heavy" usage. My definition of that is my typical day to day usage. I work 12 hours overnight with almost nothing to do but play with my phone, so for me "heavy" means more than 50% of the time with screen on actively browsing, playing games, etc. I'm trying to gauge whether or not the battery drain I'm getting with that level of usage is normal. If it is, that's pretty much what I expect but for the sake of curiosity I'd like to know.

EDIT: It's also entirely plausible that I need to replace my battery, and that this is totally unrelated to the ROM/usage.

My GPS wasn't locking so i decided to install GPS fix, i've used it in the past and like the results, except for tonight---> i've noticed my CPU was running at max speed, like i had it on performance...uninstalled GPS fix and now my cpu speed is running normal 245/1024 smartassv2...just a warning....

Well, after a weekend of work and frustration, I think I'm beginning to narrow down the problem with battery life.

It appears Juice Defender is having conflicts with the Alarm Manager process, and causing the phone to stay awake, and drain the battery while in use as well.
I will continue to observe my phone after my exam today. I'm hoping to confirm findings and post pics. (note this was not a problem prior to the 10/30 build)

Note: I have fully reformated my phone and installed the latest rom.

My battery is fine (i think) with just 3G enabled. I get 1.2% drain every hour on idle. With Wifi enabled, I get about 10% drain every hour. :( I did notice one app taking up most of my battery usage, even though it's barely used: the game Spider Jack. I don't remember playing it yesterday, although my daughter did for a short time. But it showed it taking 53% of battery usage. I've seen it consistently taking up a suspiciously large amount of battery lately... I just uninstalled it, so now I'll see how that affects the battery.

Sorry I haven't been very active on this thread, I've been a bit busy :S
@RainbowDroid what is that? I've never seen it before.
@Sykojon hmm... GPS seems to work for me, and I installed GPS fixer and it didn't mess with my CPU
@AOforever1 battery is fine for me as well, and I have no issues with Juice Defender

Just tried the following steps but still unable to set GV as default dialer:

-Reboot into Recovery
-Wipe Cache Partition
-format /system
-Wipe Davlik Cache
-Flashed 11/6 Rom
-Flashed Gapps
-Rebooted
-Made a test call but no luck

Simple question... why would you flash gapps? Gapps are included with MIUI.

edit: lol just noticed you said you flashed 11/6 build. which means you're talking about CM7... wrong thread buddy. this is the MIUI thread.

Gapps on Miui can majorly cause some issues. Try it again without flashing it. =]

Don't flash Gapps on MIUI, Isaac said that earlier!

It comes with many standard google apps already, if the one you want isn't there you can get it from the market, yes.

Help!

I'm just getting a whole bunch of force closes with MIUI. The most common ones being "android.process.media" and "android.process.acore" has stopped unexpectedly. What should I do?

EDIT: Cleared data for Contacts storage and Media storage and the force closes have stopped...for now.

I have used both CM7 and just switched to MIUI yesterday. I must say I am enjoying this ROM much more than CM7. Good work guys. I'm looking forward to this progressing more.

Did you wipe data / factory reset. I believe this Should be done before doing the other things on your list. I have now flashed about 10 or 15 times and I follow your list but with wipe data / factory reset first and no gapps for Miui. Unless coming from a previous version of the Rom and have had a few issues doing that.

does that just mean you have to go to the market and manually install the google apps you want?

No, MIUI comes with all gapps built-in. Flashing gapps will overwrite the gapps modified to work with our build of MIUI and inevitably cause problems, if I remember correctly.
