Root [ROM][PORT][FINAL] MIUI 1.11.25-Triumph | 113011-2 (GB 2.3.7 based)

Hi..Im just here to say thanks... Okay I lied i have a hidden motive! I could have sworn I saw a place to report bugs in the first post but I just went back and didnt see it. I noticed the built in emoji (emoticons) appear to get sent (not sure if they do) but they definitely do not receive..I tried sending to myself and another miui phone..This may be a common thing among these english ports of chinese roms though..I'm not quite sure...(I had an unintelligible logcat here but this is not the place for that )

Can you post that logcat on pastebin. It doesn't make any sense in the current form.

P.S. You'll want to post that over on miuiandroid, not here. I don't work on MIUI itself, just porting it to this phone.

P.S.S. And no, to answer your comment about bug reports (from the first post):

Also, since I don't have the source for this ROM, it's being worked on with a take-it-or-leave-it attitude. If I can manage to fix something, it'll get fix. Since it was originally in Chinese, some of the language translations will be strange. I'm using code from CM7, building said code, and cramming it into MIUI. Since MIUI and CM7 share a lot of the same code, this has been working fine so far. But remember: I can't stress how much I don't want complaints and bug reports (Github). This is mostly because most serious problems will go unfixed. This is the unfortunate situation we're in (MIUI being closed source). Whatever I can fix, I am more than willing to share it with you guys.

i see lol..i keep trying to format it and the forum messes it back up here is the logcat if anyone is interested..I now know this isnt the place for that..but ill leave it here for posterity I suppose D/dalvikvm(10419): GC_EXPLICIT freed 1092K, 63% free 1831K/4867K, external 11531 - Pastebin.com

FWIW, there isn't an error in that logcat output. I had to touch some of the SMS code to get things working for us, but I don't think I touched anything related to emoticons. I'm going to assume this is an upstream issue with MIUI.

crap I knew i saw SOMETHING about bug reports..I was just way off. haha.. Thanks a lot anyway..it works perfect for me..the emoji thing is nothing..i dont use them EDIT: also yeah I knew there was no error.. I just automatically assumed it was the chinese/japanese characters throwing things off (what i showed in the pastebin). the mms gets received ..just garbled characters :)

I doubt it. I ran the Chinese through a translator:

是否获取发送报告 - "Whether to send the report to obtain"

发给 - "Sent to"

的短信已放入发送队列 - "The message has been sent to the queue"

These are just progress reports that happen after the fact. So, the action happens and then logcat reports the activity. I don't think this would have an effect on the actual process of sending or receiving the emoticon. Either way, if there were a problem, logcat would bitch about not being able to receive something. (Much like it did when MMS wasn't working).

I don't know where or how to send bug reports to MIUI. These are dev builds (on the MIUI side itself). There may be things that aren't working correctly. For example, there's problems with setting ringtones.

Do it on stock, then flash back to MIUI.

OK. so, i spent all night on restoring back to factory ROM, and trying this PRL! I tried what i saw in the howard forum 1st. Then, on the second page, someone suggested I try AnyCut. Did that. Enabled "Diag" in the Select COM Port Mode, but my port just doesn't come up. Ive also read that since this is 64-bit Windows, I might not be able to install the correct drivers. I absolutely LOVE MIUI, and if I could just get the Sprint PRL on here, my Triumph will reach smartphone NIRVANA!
If anyone that has Win7-64-bit, and a stock ROM, please verify? Or, offer up another suggestion?
Thanks to all!

I am new to this forum and this is my first post. I got a Motorola Triumph a few days ago and flashed this ROM yesterday. Thanks, Isaac!
I ran into an issue and I haven't see it in the OP. I have my apps moved to external SD card using apps2sd. When I connect the phone via USB to the computer, all these apps seemingly disappear from the phone. They then reappear when the USB is disconnected.

Anybody else have this or is it just me?

Tried to use CIFS manager so that I could watch some videos from my server but it keeps giving me the "no such device error". Did a search of my phone using File Expert and I can't seem to find cifs.ko. Is CIFS supported in this ROM or is there an acceptable module I can just install? Sorry if this is a touch off topic.

Well when you mount your SD card it's not available to the OS so things like pics, music, and apps won't show on your phone. Will say something like sd card busy

bigvandal is right, when you connect the phone and it uses it as mass storage (it mounts the microSD card) the card is not available for the Android OS to use. Thus your apps are not available. If you enable USB debgging you will have to enable mass storage mode before it mounts the SD card when connected to the computer. That way you can charge it on a computer and not lose all your apps that are on the SD card the whole time, just when you want to transfer something.

Unless you have a HUGE amount of apps, you shouldn't need to move anything to the SD card. The OS will read them faster from internal memory than from your SD card, so I personally don't see a reason to move everything to your SD card. If you are running out of internal space then I would move the things you do not use as much. That way when the SD card is mounted by the computer you can still use your more vital apps if need be.

Yeah, I can do that. I just have to rebuild it because I forgot I built it from the latest build (1.11.11). I don't think it'll work for 1.11.4.

I'll make a new section for it on the first page.

Thank you!!! :)

Weird bugs to report, since I am here: whenever a call comes in, the screen goes black for a minute, then the call screen comes back on. Very strange. Also, the ringtone takes a minute to start playing. No one else is reporting these bugs, so maybe it's just me, but I wanted to report them anyway, to be on the safe side.

I also can confirm that. I use Google voice on my triumph, and on an Assurance dumb-phone. The lil phone will ring, for about 5 or 6 rings before my Triumph responds...1st, ringtone, 3 seconds AFTER that, screen lights up and I answer.
No biggie, just confirming:D

Good to know I'm not alone. :)

That makes sense. Think about it for a second. You're using something to move your apps to the SDCARD. When you connect via USB, the drive is being unmounted on the phone and remounted on your computer. This means phone no longer has the SDCARD mounted on itself. (i.e. it's like the SDCARD isn't in the phone anymore). Then, when you turn off USB mounting, the SD card to remounted on the phone and all your stuff comes back.

I've tried searching the thread about GPS issues but I could not find anything. My GPS on my phone is terrible is there anyway to improve it?

Download this app called GPS-Fix. It works awesome I downloaded it and let it run for 5 minutes, and the second after it was done the navigation would connect instantly. Because I had the same exact problem no matter what I tried on my own, or what someone else had said to try because what I've read and my own problem with it we ain't the only people that have had this issue I also had the same problem on CM7. But download GPS-Fix from the market its free to, and I promise you it will connect with in 2 seconds

P.S. When you download it, go into the options and change the settings to 5min I found out that usually thats plenty long, because its set at like 15min and feels like it takes forever because the app stops well the timer restarts if you try to put it in the background and do something else while its running.

The only app out of about the dozen or so I tried that actually improved my GPS connection time was an app called AGPS-injector. I should probably edit the word improved to work as I had never once made a GPS connection before using the app. I don
