Root [ROM][PORT][FINAL] MIUI 1.11.25-Triumph | 113011-2 (GB 2.3.7 based)

If you are not going to be helpful in your response to a question, it is better not to respond at all. In fact berating people for not searching is one of the things talked about in the Site Rules/Guidlines, you should read up on that. It is also mentioned in the Zero Tolerance Policy.

In regard to the GPS question, From what I have seen all off the various GPS fixes have been very limited and haven't really been applicable for everyone. CM7 and MIUI have had the GPS improved, but some people still have issues. This could have something to do with where you live, or what might be blocking the signal (trees, roofs, giant air baloons!). Try installing "GPS Status" and going outside where there is a clear sky. Check how long it takes to lock. Inside my GPS takes quite a while to lock (1-2 min). Outside it is locked within seconds. It does take about 30sec if i am cruising down the highway.

Also, even though it says our phone uses AGPS, IT DOES NOT! Tickerguy has made many comments on this in various posts throughout these forums.

@isaac- hey man can you do me a favor (not like you dont already do enough :D )... can you upload and send me the livewallpapers.apk from your build of cm7? i went to your cm7 thread to just extract it from one of your builds but mediafire said you deleted the files. i like your nexus live wallpaper that looks like the one that ships with the nexus s

Nevermind, I forgot I posted it in TG's CM7 thread: Android Forums

EDIT: I'm about to push the source up to my Github.

The only app out of about the dozen or so I tried that actually improved my GPS connection time was an app called AGPS-injector. I should probably edit the word improved to work as I had never once made a GPS connection before using the app. I don’t know what the app does as I am GPS illiterate but since installing the app when I open maps I get a popup just like superuser does that says downloading AGPS data and then after selecting navigation I probably need to wait about 30 seconds for a connection. This is a big improvement as on more than one occasion I left my phone sit in my car for an hour or two and it still would not have made a connection. I had also tried GPS fix but without any luck, could probably chalk that up to Ignorance though as this was a few month back only a few days after owning the phone and was a complete noob who did not know about things like long pressing selections and would always forget that selecting the menu key in an app will often give you more options and settings.
Thats wierd because just yesterday my gps wouldnt connect and i ran gps fix for 5 min and the navigation app and maps app connected instantly, even indoors wasnt even outside

Tried to use CIFS manager so that I could watch some videos from my server but it keeps giving me the "no such device error". Did a search of my phone using File Expert and I can't seem to find cifs.ko. Is CIFS supported in this ROM or is there an acceptable module I can just install? Sorry if this is a touch off topic.

You can flash my kernel from here:

http://androidforums.com/triumph-all-things-root/444703-kernel-mock-kernel-miui-released.html

It's got CIFS support. You can also download the cifs.ko module from end of the post.

As pointed out by others, disrespect and negativity have no place here at Android Forums. Please contribute positively, or not at all.

you are referring to the comment i made..that someone deleted..it was hardly negative or condescending..it was one of disbelief that someone would say they SEARCHED the thread for something there was about 2 pages on...thats justified..

Isaac, this doesn't work for me... when I send a text that is longer than one page, not only does it not get split but it doesn't get sent at all. It acts like it gets sent but the other person never receives it. I tested it just now. Every time I want to send a long message I have to use handcent as it won't work with the MIUI messaging app.
Did you have to change any options to get it to work?
Is this working for other people?

Not that I know of (or at least I don't remember enabling anything). I haven't tried sending any long text messages to anyone else. All I know is my fianc

Like I said, it was probably that I did not know how to use the app at the time. Don't remember as it was probably the second day of owning an Android device and since the AGPS-Injector app worked out so well I had no need to try it again. Was trying to give an alternative option and not stating that it did not work as I have seen many posts saying that it does. Sorry my post was misleading as I thought I made it clear at the end that I was not stating that GPS fix does not work. Guess I did a bad job of that.

Now if I do start using GPS fix instead will I have to wait the 5 minutes each time I need to use a Navigation App as I do not need to do that with the AGPS app?

Thanks so much Isaac - I finally took the plunge and Im loving it. Too bad its a "work night" as I want to stay up all night tweaking :)

Quick question - Is it worth me installing all my apps to this ROM as Im concerned the next ROM update will require me to wipe clean this ROM. Is this so or can I install the new MIUI ROM over this one and keep my apps/settings etc?

Again - thank you!

Unless it is stated otherwise (because of some major changes) you will not have to wipe /data between builds (that is where your app data and all that is stored). So you should be able to keep your settings and everything, unless Isaac states otherwise in his instructions.

I finally got my Moto Triumph, and it is a very nice phone. Big screen and fast enough. I followed all steps and installed MIUI from here with ease and no problems. I love it. It's snappy, nice looking, and has endless customization options. Everything works for me, no issues, no force closes. A big thank you to all the devs who make these kind of things possible. I've gotten a few people jealous. I hear someone saying they can't receive pictures because they are low on minutes or something....lol! Well i don't have that problem. :)

Yeah at this point is there anything besides HDMI to fix? Been rocking this for a while with no real issues. I was gonna try that kernel out but like Isaac said I don't see a need for it. This thing is quick and the battery life on this last build is really really good.

HD games don't run particularly smooth due to the fact that the new kernel needed for MIUI changed the memory allocation of the GPU. But I'm not sure if that can be changed/fixed? Anyways, it's a great ROM, thanks so much Isaac.

Actually, I (mostly) fixed this today. I've been downloading and trying games all day today. Every game I previously tried that didn't work (e.g. piss-poor performance, textures/objects missing) all work now.

There's only one catch. I lost about 30 Mbs (went from 368 to 342) for the system itself.

I'm still downloading and trying out games. So far, every game I've tried works.

30 Megs? That seems tolerable. Even on the current build 9mm works just fine. Haven't tested anything else though. What have you tested as of now?
