Root [ROM][PORT][FINAL] MIUI 1.11.25-Triumph | 113011-2 (GB 2.3.7 based)

When Isaac updates, you have to wait for me to update my kernel before you flash SpeedDemon, or else if you'll downgrade back to the 1.11.4(11/9); but I should be updating my kernel only a day or two after the kernel, depending on what time Isaac decides to update. He might update over the weekend or maybe sometime next week.

You can flash my kernel(SpeedDemon) now, then update when Isacc updates MIUI, wait for me to update SpeedDemon, then you can flash SpeedDemon.

The Miui Rom got an update with some fixes: MIUI, Redefining Android – MIUI Android Developers

Yeah, I'm running it right now. There's no difference between 1.11.4, 1.11.11 or 1.11.18 (hence why I haven't put out a new release). Another reasons is the "base code" keeps changing between each release. 1.11.4's framework was different than 1.11.11; 1.11.18 is the exact same way. I'm not talking small updated changes either. I mean full out differences (like they were built from a completely different source) and I'm not sure why, but it's a pain in my ass. Each release is still 2.3.7 oddly enough. The bugs they claim are fixed in 1.11.18 (for example, the ringtone issue) are not. I haven't tested the browser, yet. More likely than not, 1.11.18 will be the last MIUI release (from me at least).

I've begun uploading my changes for MIUI to Github. You can watch that here: https://github.com/ikarosdev/MIUI_Triumph_frameworks

The GB MIUI version is reaching its EOL. I consider the GB MIUI version to be dead in the water and I see no reason to continue GB MIUI. I promised to take this project to the end and with the release of ICS, I think we've reached that point.

EDIT: I also have no plans to maintain CM7 either. I'm watching the progress the CM team is making with CM9 and will continue to do so. As of now, since the Triumph has plenty of decent third-party ROMs, I'm shifting my focus away from development and moving on to different things.

Darn, what's your next project? Anyhow, I'm fine with what you put out now anyway. My wife is getting mad because I've spent so much time messing with my phone and your rom lol. Great work, appreciate it. You can create your own section right? Is there already a miui themes thread? I really want some nice animated lockscreens. It's impossible to tell in the online theme browser for miui, which is animated, and which is not. Other than that, I have my phone just the way I want.

You could put out the update for HD Games(and fix any remaining bugs for the triumph, if you can), and say the update is the final build. So it makes it more official, for no confusion.

When the base code stabilizes with CM9, I think I may attempt an ICS-Triumph port. This, however, is months down the road. I've been watching the commits on Github and I'm eager to try out ICS. The changes they've made so far are small, but it's the first step to ICS: https://github.com/cm-gerrit

That said, I've been doing this development thing for a while. I have other projects that I'm working on (programs for Linux, home studio, school, might re-enlist, etc.) that are a higher priority for me ATM.

Aside from HDMI, which I have no use for, I have no more bug fixes specifically for the Triumph.

EDIT: This ain't my first rodeo, I'll make whatever announcement or changes necessary when the time comes.

The HD games fix would be a nice choice, but of course it's totally up to you. I'd be interested to try an ICS rom down the line. I read today from twitter that it has been ported to the galaxy S II was it? Wow that's fast.

Well I'm just adding to SpeedDemon kernel, next thing to update is new I/O's, support for different stuff, and some "something"(secrete) to improve battery life. Then after that it's just optimizing the kernel to make it run faster.

Yeah, ICS is a big deal. As much as I'd like to see ICS (and help make it a reality) on the Triumph, I don't know where I'll be when that time comes.

Yup, things are looking good: Ice Cream Sandwich ported to a Galaxy S II... and the people rejoice (update: LG Optimus 3D too!) -- Engadget

EDIT: We'll have to see what the CM team has up their sleeves in terms of legacy support. The video I linked shows the guy running a 2.6.35 kernel. I don't see why we can't use our 2.6.32 kernel.

Well I hope you'll be here lol, or someone who has the capability to do it. XDA didn't even has this well developed a rom for the triumph. I noticed you and tickerguy's work was popping up over there but of course not nearly as updated as here. Well, somewhere down the line I'd probably go with a tmobile phone anyway. Not sure, the Triumph is perfectly suited to my needs. Besides, my next venture will be the Asus Transformer Prime. Defnitely not a need but I don't care haha. I'm buying one! That will be all about fun and games :)

If anyone can do it, it’s you Isaac. I believe in you as we all do.
The Triumph and its users need you and you have brought much joy to all of our lives.

I definitely second this. Hard work has made this phone much better for all of us!

This is definitely off topic, but I notice you have the nook color with MIUI as one of your devices. Would you recommend that for others? I know they just put out the upgraded one (nook tablet) with that in mind, would you recommend still getting one? Or getting the newer one (which I expect to be able to hack/get ROMs on before too long). You can PM me if you don't want to clog this with OT stuff. ;)

I am no longer a CM7 guy, I'm a MIUI guy. Wow Issac, you have truly outdone yourself. Now if we can get the Rom Manager thing worked out... then we would be in business. (ICS would be the cherry on top....)

Isaac you mind putting up your changes on github to the kernel to fix HD gaming(when or if your done), it seems you took down your MIUI kernel github.

So I'm really having trouble with the texting. I can't seem to send messages pased two pages. I can recieve and send MMS just fine but the text part just doesn't seem to work. I've tried Handcent and still no luck my friend doesn't seem to be getting my texts. Any help please? D:

It was giving me 404 error earlier, and I couldn't find it on your profile...

The HD "fix" isn't the best solution. While it does allow some games to be playable, it hits the rest of the ROM negatively.

FWIW, these are my changes. In the defconfig:

Move up the vmalloc from:

Code:
CONFIG_VMALLOC_RESERVE=0x08000000
to

Code:
CONFIG_VMALLOC_RESERVE=0x0C000000
You can drop this line: https://github.com/ikarosdev/triump...s-MIUI/arch/arm/mach-msm/board-msm7x30.c#L162

to about 0x1300000 to give about 5 megs back to the system. If you don't care about that, you can leave it set at 0x1700000.

For texts longer than two pages, I use Handcent as the stock messaging app doesn't split them for me. On Handcent you have to turn on the option to split your text if it is longer than one page (it is turned off by default)

but is there a work around to make it work on the actual MIUI text thing?
