Root [ROM][PORT][FINAL] MIUI 1.11.25-Triumph | 113011-2 (GB 2.3.7 based)

I did a full charge so my phone was at 100% battery. Turned off data and wifi then went to sleep around 2am. Woke up after 9am. So around 7 or 8 hours my battery was at 86% left on over night. That's pretty good man. Now with data or wifi on, that's another story lol. Also, I reformatted my sd card, and did a factory reset because the battery was sucking big time before. I'm happy now. Great job! Really though, as long as you know the work you and tickerguy have done really has made a difference. Makes the phone a heck of a lot more useful and tolerable.

How bad does it hit the ROM?

30 MBs go missing.

The only game I tried that showed a difference was Sentinel 3: Homeworld. All the other HD games I've tried Shadowgun (native Adreno version; no Chainsfire3D), Samurai II: Vengeance, Grave Defense HD, etc. all work just fine on the original kernel.

The best solution would be to release a secondary kernel if you're having trouble with HD games and not pack it into the ROM package itself. Furthermore, if you're already making a secondary kernel, then there should be a third "special" kernel for HD gaming. I can't justify losing 30 Mbs of available RAM for gaming. To each his own.

Is losing 30MBs so bad?

I really don't want to manage a second kernel. When I had Princely ROM, and I had manage each version, that was a major pain in the rear.

I am sad to see both Ticker and Isaac moving on, but sure do understand and still appreciate their monumental efforts - thanks you guys, and good luck with your future projects :)

I am in a bit of a quandry. Over my school break, I intend to get into theming, definitely for MIUI and possibly for CM7 as well. There have already been updates to MIUI, the lockscreen manifest in particular, that it would seem we won't ever get. So I'm stuck - is it at all possible that we will get support (official or otherwise) with MIUI or CM7? Is someone picking up where isaac and ticker left off? If not, I've got to start thinking about moving to another device/service. :(

What version of MIUI was the lockscreen manifest introduced in? I'm currently running 1.11.18 right now (after fixing all the damn MIUI introduced problems), but since 1.11.4 was a good release (and no real changes), I wasn't planning on releasing anything newer.

OFF-TOPIC: I've connected my PS3 controller to my phone and I'm using it to play Shadowgun. It's amazing. I can't believe you can use the 2nd joystick and have it set up Halo-style. It works really well.

This info here, but haven't heard from the MIUI LS guru on xda if any of it's valid. I know something in the 1.11 series introduced rotation of elements on the lock environment, but to be honest I've not tested any of the themes using it since I'm on Cm7 while helping someone out with a theme right now. And thanks again, Isaac :)

Isaac you still haven't answered how bad a 30MB loss would hit the ROM? Is 30MB so bad.

I need to figure out how to make a update script for a Ice Cream Sandwich port....

It kinda depends on how you look at it. To me, it's a significant loss. That's 30 Mbs of RAM that could be used towards something. It helps smooth out the overall performance on the ROM. I did notice some slight performance loss in the ROM (animations were slower/choppier, apps took a little longer to open, etc.). Then again, I spent a couple weeks trying to get all of it back when I moved up to VMSPLIT3G. So, I was disappointed that it went from 444 to 414. It was like I undid some of my work.

Truthfully, the difference is probably only noticeable if you really pay attention, but for most users, I think the loss will be negligible. Plus, if you add the tweak to your OC kernel, I don't think anyone will be able to tell at all.

Question:

I have been using the current build of MIUI and have ran into a issue. When I try to tell SetCPU or No Frills to set the min frequency as 122 at boot, every time I reboot I bootloop and have to restore from a backup. Is there a setting in MIUI that can do that for me?

Try a higher min frequency, and no I don't think MIUI has a setting like that only CM7 does.
Also, it's not the app's fault(by a good chance) , it could be the kernel your using or your phone doesn't LIKE going that low.

PS: I think I just find out what mOCk kernel is, it is either 'my Over Clock kernel', or 'mantera's Over Clock kernel'.

There were a number of people in the cm7 thread that were having reboots and bootloops when they changed their min freq to 122. It sounds like your phone is one of those that can't go below 245 and be stable.

Here's my only gripe about that.... IT WORKED FINE ON CM7! LOL, I too agree, it isn't the apps fault.

Code:
md5sum: 037eb2d0dbf88de4060dfc6d80650de9

NOTE: Always check md5sum! The versioning is the following: miuiandroid_Triumph-(MIUI VERSION)-(MMDDYY)-(REVISION). Check the "About Phone" section in settings to determine what build you're on.

Can someone explain to me the md5sum thing?
