Root [ROM][PORT][FINAL] MIUI 1.11.25-Triumph | 113011-2 (GB 2.3.7 based)

Isaac, I'm having a problem with the ringtones. I can change it on the phone's setup, but when someone.calls me, it's the same annoying ringtone. It doesn't matter what type of ringtone it is, it doesn't work. Please help.
Once again, thanks for your wonderful work.

Great build, Isaac, quite stable, and I'm not experiencing any bugs at all! Perfect!

I haz question: What do you mean by "PRL coming from radio"? Do you mean we have stock PRL or the new one?

The PRL version was being "faked" (i.e. it was a hardcoded value read from the build.prop). Now, the PRL version is being read from the radio itself. In actuality, the PRL version hasn't changed. The PRL you currently have on the phone is still the same one. However, if you want to change it, it would be useful if the "About Phone" would display the correct version instead of showing a static value. This is what was fixed in the latest build.

I'm not having any problems (i.e. I can't reproduce your issue). Are you sure you're applying the ringtone? The process is more tedious than most ROMs (you have to select the tone and hit the "select" button in the right corner).

Is any one having a problem with the market saying "download size requires wifi". I have not had this with stock rom or with Tinkers CM7. I'm I missing a simple setting?
It is happening with 40kb files to 4mb files. Signal is good and 3g.

Latest MIUI build too.

Check the market version. If it's 3.3.11, it's the brand new one. This is something introduced in the new Market and not directly related to MIUI. Android market updates to Android Market version 3.3.11 | Daily Technician (see the 2nd to last paragraph).

In addition, they have included a warning message for the discharge of large size, so that the user be aware of what downloads, and compensate with a connection via WiFi.
If and when the market is updated on CM7 or the stock ROM, the message will be there too. I don't know why the message is showing for small downloads as well (it's doing it for me), but it's a Market problem. If you don't like the new Market, uninstall the update.

It looks like the ringtone issue was addressed in the latest MIUI release (1.11.11):

Music:

  • Fix problem setting ringtone, setting the ringtone is not displayed correctly
Source: MIUI, Redefining Android – MIUI Android Developers

EDIT: I can confirm it's working on 1.11.11.

EDIT2: Looks like it sets the song, but doesn't actually use the custom ringtone. This is a MIUI problem that will need to be fixed from their end. A reboot helps, but doesn't fix it completely.

i had a problem with this previously to, but am since using CM7 again and an OC kernel, but try applying the ringtone, and then immediately calling the phone from another phone literally right after you apply it. i also had a problem with alarms, and i forget but notifications might have been a problem too, but with alarms apply the alarm tone and set it to go off one minute from the time it is. and for notification apply the tone, and send yourself a message immediately. everything should stick.

Does anyone else have a problem with changing there ringtone on the Triumph using the latest ROM version of MIUI??? Whenever I try to change my ringtone it don't matter which one I pick every time I change it, it shows the one I picked but when you call the phone its still the same ringtone that was set on the install of the ROM. Is anyone else had this problem, or does someone know what I am doing wrong that i can't get it to change. Or is this a known problem, someone please HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!

Isaac

It is the 3.3.11, I down graded it, but still does the same thing. To be more specific the msg is in the notification bar. It shows as a download but when you pull it down that is where the msg. I guess I will do a fresh build and see if it still happens.

I know sorry I tried doing it the other night I didn't see any other post but for some reason my cell phone didn't put it up, and 2 min after I posted it I realized that there where a ton of other people asking the same thing, that's my bad.

Also I am running the most recent MIUI ROM, and I have tried to do a restart and I'm not even trying to do a song for the ringtone just a stock one that's already on the phone. So if I download a newer ROM it will work, because its not that the ringtone is bad that I cant live with it, its that it only rings for like a second and it don't keep going like loop, all it does is more or less just beep for a second and stop.

The version of MIUI that I have is, MIUI-1.11.4-Triumph (110911-3): miuiandroid_Triumph-1.11.4-110911-3.zip

Thanks for your help, answering my question fast...

I have absolutely no issue setting custom ringtones, notification tones, contact tones, I have changed them tested them, reset the phone and ZERO issue. No idea what may be going on with you guys. I always wipe and format before I install a rom.

Yeah I posted "DO NOT RESTORE DATA WITH MIUI BACK UP!" few pages back. Put me in a strange bootloop

It depends on the items you backup. I just restored using the MIUI backup tool and I didn't get caught in a boot loop.

I haven't figured out which of the items (Browser, messaging, DND settings, etc.) is the one that causes the boot loop.

Just to make sure I have this right - should I do a complete wipe to go from the 1.10.14.-10232011-2 to the latest? I knew I shoulda kept up lol

Haven't tried with this build, but with last build, MIUI backup would cause a bootloop.

Yes, I am aware of that (read my post). But, like I said, it depends on the items you choose to back up and restore. I've yet to determine which is the offending category that causes boot loops. FWIW, I've done restores (for testing purposes) for all the builds.

EDIT: I should note that if you set a ringtone from the Music app, it seems to be work every time.

@ziggy: why don't you try it and find out?

@melissapugs: Yes, a wipe is recommended coming from that version. There was a major change to MIUI's framework from that build to the current release.

thanks @ isaac
I'm noticing that the newest extended control mod doesn't include separate downloads for left/right/center clock options in the nonoverscroll versions -is the choice built into the app/mod now? Also curious if there was a portion of it that needed to be removed (was it .jar?) like the 1014 version I first tried.
