Root [ROM][PORT][FINAL] MIUI 1.11.25-Triumph | 113011-2 (GB 2.3.7 based)

Yes, but I'm not sure exactly who. We shall see!

I hope somebody does; I've already re-based everything on my Github for ICS. It's definitely more "hospitable" for the next person that decides to take up the project (i.e. it builds, lol).

Of course, my curiosity has gotten the best of me and I've been working on getting ICS bootable. I've been pushing commits like crazy to my ICS branches. For somebody who doesn't want to work on CM9, I've been doing a good bit of work. ;)

Thats great!hopefully we get another person as dedicated as you and tickerguy to take up the ice cream sandwich and the MIUI 4.0 Project. What do you think will happen if no one decides to take up the project?

If nobody works on anything, it'll just sit. I'm not going to remove my Github, but if no one is actively working on it, it'll become out-of-date. Say a new developer comes along 3 months down the road, he or she would be very confused at the state of the CM9-Triumph project.

Since the CM9 project itself is dynamic, there needs to be someone there to keep up with the changes. This coupled with the fact that the Triumph requires a good bit of port specific changes to work correctly.

Does it do it on stock kernel?
Are you on wifi or 3g?
What app are you using?

I've tested watching a movie on Netflix and HBO Go on wifi and don't see an issue. The only issue is when the movie is buffering. Perhaps that's what you're seeing? It pauses for a sec or so while buffering?

It definitely doesn't happen to be any form of buffering artifacting like at the beginning of watching some netflix movies. Actually, it doesn't happen for me at all in Netflix. I notice it quite frequently on certain movie clips in HQ on Youtube both using the youtube app and running it through the regular m.youtube.com page. I've tried messing with the clockspeed in mock and switching from something like smartassv2 to interactivex to performance...no difference. I have tried it with the mock kernel and the stock MIUI kernel.

The only other place I've noticed it happen is in the GO Weather app. Some of the backgrounds have weird artifacting and stuttering, too.

I was not on stock android 2.2 long enough to notice these issues, though I did make a backup. If it helps, I can restore to my stock backup and try to see if the same issues happen. If that does happen, of course...its the phone and not a coding issue.

I did not have any issues till I flashed the new krenal that said HD games were working. I text a few people and no one text me back I reboot my phone the next day and I got 8text one after another. Then I text my self it will come 4 to 5 min later

so i'm having the same issue i'm just wondering if anyone tried what septembersrain suggested, the full wipe and re-install, and if so did it work?
thanks for any help in advance

I've noticed the soft keys will stop working for a few seconds. Before it would happen to the back button but it seems like it happens to the home button too

Hey Isaac, I have a question for you...

At home, I am able to connect to my WPA/PSK2 router with no problem. At work, we have a hidden AP using WPA/PSK2 and while MIUI does seem to be able to negotiate with it.. kind of... the string of events I see are:

Disconnected -> Obtaining IP Address -> Disconnected
Is there a log file somewhere on my device I can look at to see what's going on with that?

I tried putting it on last night and the battery settings wouldn't change. About to try again- seemed like I had to do a full wipe to erase the last version. Do I need to replace the meta info file? I don't remember doing it on the last version.

@Isaac - bout to test the weather screens, but I'm sure evrything's all good. And if you ever feel like a change, the most complete themes are the Blue Dado Series - that dev put his heart and soul and a heck of a lot of time into it, very nice look for anyone interested in Blue (there are dark and light versions available) :)

@Melissa I love the dark theme but once I rebooted bcs of the garbled text I bootlooped. I'm assuming you didn't have this issue. I think I remember reading the boot animations caused the loop. Any insight?

I have tried this already and it still wont work :( thanks for your help tho

What you do is, you go into Settiings / Apps / Manage apps and find Titanium backup and then clear data from it. Then return to the app and launch it again. This time, the system knows you have allowed root access and now Titbu can properly acquire those privvies.

No need to flash or rebuild or anything.

Enjoy!

I get that at home sometimes, the only fix I have is to reboot the wifi router. Once that is done then all of my devices are online. Have you tried that?

At home it connects fine using WPA/WPA2 PSK and a visible SSID. At work, using WPA/WPA2 PSK and a hidden SSID, that's not a solution :)

I've also tried sharing my internet from my Macbook Pro sitting a foot away from the phone using WEP encryption and a visible SSID. This also does not work.

To Isaac: We've spoken previously regarding the wpa_supplicant file over in the CM7 thread. I wonder if this could be a solution here as well? I can try it tonight when I get home.

*Edit: After not being able to connect to the AP, the WiFi network for that SSID then sayd "Not in range, secured with WPA/WPA2 PSK (or WEP for the Macbook Pro)

The problem here is because it thinks the network AP is not in range, I can't force it to try and connect so testing this becomes a nightmare of a waiting game

The supplicant file solution in CM7 came from these builds of MIUI. For whatever reason, MIUI had a different supplicant binary.

I tried to dupe what you reported - the boot was really slow, but no loop. Regardless, many boot screens, imo, are just a waste of time, not really impressive enough for me to care, or I just avoid them entirely to make sure that doesn't happen - I've gotten some really bad loops in the past from two themes in particular, had to flash the ROM just to get out of them. I stick with the default as a practice, though I can understand frustration, since many people love their boot screens. Did a battery pull sort ya out?

Strange. And also what;s stranger still is that after an hour of me not touching the phone, it connected to my Macbook Pro via WEP encryption. It still has not connected to my work router.

First time I waited about 10 min, pulled the batt waited another 5 min. Figured it shouldn't take that long and reflashed the rom. Maybe I'll try to flash without the animation. thanx for the help

*edit
Added the the theme and changed the animation. GOLDEN... THANX

I found a bug that I haven't seen before in the "FINAL" version. When using swype, it will freeze up and you aren't able to do anything at all. I can exit out of go sms, and the keyboard will still be open on the home screen, frozen. I'm not sure if this is ROM related or Swype related, because I updated Swype and MIUI at the same time. Anybody else experience this?

Edit:It isn't swype. Restored to previous version that was working before and it still did it. Not only is it freezing but it's causing my phone to reboot randomly.

Not sure if i sure post it in github, as this is the final version.

I use swype and I'm on the final build of MIUI as well. I haven't had any problems with sms or anywhere else with freezing yet. I use the sms app that comes with MIUI though.

couple ?'s
does this work for Virgin Mobile phones ?
and in making backups. Is just the one backup before adding this "stuff" on okay? Whats a good methodology to go about this. If I am to understand the threats if a backup isn't made is the phone irreparable?
I am not familar at all with all of this, but I'd like to learn, and I am not a slow learner.

Yes this is for the motorola triumph on virgin mobile, here is another thread with all the steps on what you would need to do.
