Root [ROM][PORT][FINAL] MIUI 1.11.25-Triumph | 113011-2 (GB 2.3.7 based)

couple ?'s
does this work for Virgin Mobile phones ?
and in making backups. Is just the one backup before adding this "stuff" on okay? Whats a good methodology to go about this. If I am to understand the threats if a backup isn't made is the phone irreparable?
I am not familar at all with all of this, but I'd like to learn, and I am not a slow learner.

I answered some similar questions you asked in a different post.

Also, feel free to shoot me a PM if you need some more guidance.

You can drag icons outside the dock of MIUI's launcher and leave it blank. Themes can give you different dock styles.
As for alt launcher, ADW Ex and MIUI work well together for me :)
Hi Melissa, thanks.
No, I can't move the bottom four icons.
They are there no matter what.

Huh. Sounds like a bad flash or something - long press an icon, drag upward, should land it on elsewhere on the page. Unless...are you using a theme that perhaps has images of icons as a static dock, not the actual icons themselves? If so, switch themes to see what you're doing.

I am using the default MIUI w/default MIUI launcher.
Bottom four are movable, but I cannot move then away from the screens.

You lost me. Mayhap you're talking about removing icons altogether from the MIUI launcher - not possible, since that uninstalls the app (unless that's your intention). You can make a folder by long pressing on any page, and shove unwanted icons in there. :) Hope this helps

Melissa, you need to flash CM7 again, I want some of this cool stuff too! :p

It looks awesome, as always!

lol, thanks much :) I am working a full MIUI theme atm, will then try to port it to CM7 if there's interest. Does CM7 allow for coding of the lock? Can you tell how much I know about Cm7 for the whole week I rocked it lol? I would jump that hurdle if someone pointed me in the right direction. Wish MIUI coding could be implemented on WidgetLocker...

Melissa - ONLY bottom four icons - phone, contacts, google/facebook, messaging.
That's what I want to remove.

Never mind.
Removed them
but cannot move anything else there.

lol. If it is very difficult to port, it's no biggie, you just always put out good stuff. Even if it isn't always to my taste, the composition is something to admire.

Just installed MIUI and I think its the best! Def a keeper.
One question, how can I change carrier name? On cm7 I just flashed the sprint zip someone made on here. Would the same work for miui? Thanks

Search for extended settings for MIUI. It gives you a lot of different options for changing things including the carrier name. Can change it to whatever you want or remove it altogether.

So I took the plunge last night. I had been sticking to punkrom because I felt it was the most fully featured and most importantly stable rom that was out there for the MT.

However, I had a few random reboots while I was trying to work out some battery issues and that was enough to make me do a nandroid backup and try out MIUI.

I am really thankful that Isaac has spent as long as he has on this project, and am very impressed with where it is today.

I was expecting things to be broken, and was pleasantly surprised when everything is functional (minus HDMI output).

I have found workarounds or fixes for any small issues after reading all 33 pages of this thread, except for one small thing which the community may help with.

I tracked down a deep sleep issue (couldn't get into deep sleep) to a few apps and wireless. I used the facebook app but it kept wanting to keep the phone up. I also used business calendar pro (free one) and it also wanted to keep the phone up. I say used, because I removed them in my troubleshooting. If anyone has a suggestion for a deep sleep compatible calendar app, I'm all ears.

After that, I remembered seeing many posts:

Sepcifically, I am trying to sort out the wifi deep sleep problem. I have tried this advanced wifi lock free app, but it does not allow the wifi to go to a state of sleep to get the phone into deep sleep.

The only thing that works 100% of the time, is to make sure no offending apps are on the phone and will start at random, and to also turn OFF wifi when I am not planning to use it. This is not my favorite, coming from the optimus V, because wifi *SHOULD* use less battery (if we had a good driver with good settings, that is open source) than 3G, but it seems that the 3G is better in miui because of the deep sleep mode.

Has anyone found any working solution to this? I'd like to use wifi at home and work (and I may even put llama back on if it doesnt interfere with deep sleep) rather than 3G. If I can't then I'll live with it. But since I had seen a number of posts, I figured I would ask.

I don't expect Isaac to look into this, as he made it clear not only he was done with development on this rom, but also that he was no longer going to look at the issue since he doesn't use wifi.

Thanks all.

My bookmarks are in chaos - someone, not sure who, asked about MIUI lockscreens with previews of missed calls/texts/etc. Looks like DB has some promising code for his ls: link :)

Curious if anyone has this "problem" with the new version. It now has the app drawer you can pull down from the status bar. I am trying to use it but it keeps going back to off on start up, wont stay on, and I can't seem to get it to pull down. Anybody else using this new option or able to get it to work?
Thanks. :)

First of all, thanks for a wonderful ROM! I have tried the others and this is one of my favorites, if not the best :)

I can’t send messages that are long, it looks like for me that the message wont split. As I understand this should happen automatically in this ROM? Other ROM's (CM7) works fine. I installed Handcent SMS and when using that it works. But it seems like this app drain the batt. probably because of the advertising thing (it stays connected to internet).
The stock ROM instead of splitting the messages, it converts it to MMS, I like that better...

Anyone who as a suggestion, I would like it to work as is... ?

I use Juicedefender to kill wifi and it does a pretty good job of managing the sync schedule. I have purchased ultimate, and so far my battery life is rated at 2.45 times it's standard use. Either way, I get a full day's battery out of casual use. This was even more impressive on my thunderbolt, since 4g used to kill my battery mid day.

Adfree seems to do a good job of preventing ads on the phone, have you tried that so that you can keep handcent? Seems like MMS problems prevail on other versions of MIUI also, I know my thunderbolt had them...
Thanks, I haven't tried that, but I will. I can send and recive MMS.

Just a question about the MMS problems and the firewall app that comes with MIUI. have you tried changing anything or deleting that app?

I just started using MIUI but I deleted that firewall app right away since I seen no real use for it. I don't have any MMS issues myself though, I don't know if its due to getting rid of the app or what. I do know someone else changed the settings and it fixed a ring delay that some people get with MIUI.
