I think I confused a ROM with a kernal. Is this the kernal in Mobstergunz Ginger sharp 2.2 ROM?
I am more confused. Can't find Hybrid Kernel for Rev 2.2.zip in the OP???

quick question.. is there any way to get a percentage battery instead.

There are a few system themes throughout the thread. I haven't had a chance to test them and ask the posters for permission to put them in the MOD section. I am definitely gonna add the 1% battery MOD to the GB sytem theme, now that I know that UOT kitchen can add it. I have never used it before, so wish me luck. Hope this helps.

Thanks for trying out the ROM. Yes Gapps are included. This ROM hasn't had Market since it was originally released, all of the Gapps have been updated since the first deodexed version. A whole lot of stuff has been done since then.

Yes, that is it. I just read that other Triumph kernels are working on this now as well. Somewhere throughout the builds it must have morphed in to being compatible with some of the Triumph kernels. I'm sure people will be posting as they test them out.

Thank you. Yes, just a fresh dirty install, you don't have to wipe anything really, cause the stock ROM with splash wipes everything when it flashes. It is still a good idea to do it yourself, I didn't find out that it did that until I was looking at the updater.script myself. Not that I remember what it says in the OP, I've had it so long. I did like 3 or 4 tests while I was trying to get the network location working. Once I got it working I flashed back to the original Ver6(without the fix) and it didn't work. So I flashed the fix and it worked. I then updated Ver6, flashed it and it worked. So that is where I left off, and have been waiting for some more feedback about it to see what is going on.

Ok, I decided to try something while downloading the zips. I went ahead and reflashed your fix. Beautiful widgets now works. I signed into foursquare previously using the facebook login, and it still works. My guess is having foursquare linked to fb, you can't reload it and use the foursquare login, you gotta use fb. I think it's a app thing, and not a rom thing. So basically, i'm all up and good ( and with the GB theme). For anyone else fighting this, i'm using "faster gps", which lets you set what part of the world you're in, and in settings - location, all three boxes are checked (wireless, sats, assisted). Thanks again, it's a better phone than ever, even over the cm7 roms.

im having trouble trying to flash the GB theme it just stays at splash screen /:

You may have the old version of the ROM or the theme make sure that the file names are Ver5 or Ver6 for the ROM and V5 for the GB system theme. If you are on Ver5 or higher, then the GB system theme V5 should work.

Greetings everyone. Just finished my first flash on my Triumph with this wonderful ROM. Have been stock since December and just had to try it out. Wow, is this thing ever smooth.

I will try to give some bluetooth feedback for this ROM. We use an XLink Bluetooth Gateway to connect our 3 VM phones (1 Triumph and 2 Op V's) to our home phone system. The 2 Op V's work wonderfully and the stock Triumph has been tolerable. Hopefully the Sharp ROM will work as well as the little Optimus V's have in our setup.

Thanks for all your hard work on this ROM. It really has breathed new life into the Triumph.

Hi,

Has anyone been able to get bluetooth tethering working? I've been unable to get bluetooth PAN working.

Thanks for a great ROM!

Hi,

Thanks for a great ROM!

What apps are you using to tether? What version of the ROM are you using? Does Bluetooth work otherwise? What two devices are you trying to tether?

I am replying while tethered with bluetooth now, using win 7. You can use Wireless Tether for Root Users, it is free in the google play store. I tried tether blu, it would pair but no pages would load. I have never been able to set up an actual PAN with android, but I have never had a legit gingerbread or higher phone either. I know android has issues with PAN, but I'm not an IT guy, or use it enough to really know.

Looks like I found a perfect combo for this ROM.
1. flash the ROM
2. flash GB theme
3. Install GB keyboard from the market
4. install Holo Launcher from the market. (even replaces most of icons)
5. Install power widget from the market.
6. Remove the bloatware. (Titanium or even regular Root Explorer)

Enjoy the greatness..

Thanks for the feedback. There is a bloat remover in the MOD section(second post), that is very easy to customize to your liking, it is just an updater script that deletes files. You can just add lines for the apps or files that you want gone. I thought it would be a good tool for advanced users that wanna strip this down to bare essentials. As soon as I get some more feedback about any issues that remain, I am gonna release a not so stock themed version. I just want to get this as bug free as possible before I start work on that. Let me know what options you would like to see for the interface, I will probably be using the GB system theme and some widgets in the status bar if I can get them to work.

I used the UOT Kitchen to mod my battery symbol on the stock ROM- super easy! Hopefully you won't have any issues with it. :)

Hey All,

Can anyone tell me how the auto-brightness management is on this ROM? I tried another Froyo-based ROM (Froyocream Sandwich I think) and the screen was way too bright most of the time on auto setting. I'm hoping the Sharp ROM is a little closer to stock.

Thanks! :)

Whether or not it is too bright is subjective but it does work and it seems to be quite responsive. I don't like the fact that auto brightness isn't activated on the lock screen, but I don't know of a ROM where it is.
Try it you'll like it.

Some screenshots.

Installed the OC Kernel. Set it to 1.5GHz.
This ROM was fast. With the OC kernel is impressive. Everything is so fluid and so smooth. It shows had badly Motorola Developers suck when they release the MT.

With good software/rom like the Sharp ROM. This phone is very decent.

It really does feel like a newew more powerful phone. Simply Amazing what good software can do.

Cool- thanks!

Oh- by the way, does ver. 6 still have the voicemail *86 issue? I remember seeing some earlier posts where this was being looked into, but can't remember if it was resolved...

Further input on location issues. After flashing gps fix, Beautiful widgets still doesn't locate. Quite frequently is resizes the date (4x2 format) when using gps, and other apps. Did that before the fix though. Gas buddy and maps will not locate without activating gps. All other location apps like weatherbug, realtor.com and cardiotrainer works well. Shazam force closes at startup. Tried uninstall/reinstall with no luck. Worked on previous versions. Using Go launcher ex for it's extensive customization. Was getting buggy on CM7.

Flashed 2.2 hybrid kernal last night and it improved speed on opening apps and internet speed a little. Other than that it is a superb rom. Use it as my daily. Gps navigation is outstanding which was the main reason I switched from CM7. Love the sharp launcher because it is very clear and fast. Go launcher ex with the GB theme from the market is not as clear as sharp launcher. Great job Bsydz, you rock in the Triumph world for us that can't afford the Evo right now.

This is a great rom, very stable. For the people that miss the reboot and reboot to recovery, me being one of them, download Rebooter (fast reboot) from the Play Store. It works very well and you can even create shortcuts.

BSydz, I am loving this rom. It is crazy how much better GPS is on it. I'm going to be rolling with it now.
Digging around and comparing to stock, I found a (less) dirty way of fixing the voicemail issue. You can probably find a better fix from it:

-Open up /data/data/com.android.phone/shared_prefs/com.android.phone_preferences.xml with es file explorer or equivalent.
-Add the property: "<string name="vm_number_key_cdma">##########</string>" where ########## is your 10 digit phone number (I added it right above the vm_id_key property)
-Save and exit.

Note: I have found that ES File explorer is quirky when editing files on the internal memory so you can either copy it to the sd card first and edit it there and copy back and replace the original or edit it in place, save it, go back and delete the com.android.phone_preferences.xml.bak file it creates and make sure the changes really got saved.

Thank you. It's crazy how this can get scores in Antutu higher than GB ROMs on the Sharp phone. It also gets higher Antutu scores than any ROM for the Triumph.

Thank you very much, for tracking that down. I have not had any time to look for it, again thank you very much. I will see what I can do to make a fix out of that.
