Root [ROM][PORT] Sharp ROM 2.2.2 for the Triumph (Updated: 12/16/12)

Just want to chip in about the 3g data speed issue some are having as my speeds are not noticeable compared to the stock rom.

Very impressed with this rom even as is, makes this phone completely new...

I know your involved with this rom at the moment but i noticed one of your other threads that state that the sharp 2.3 is working well but has no network. As soon as the networks up on that rom, if you need testers count me in.

Thank you. Like I stated a few posts up, I haven't tested flashing over Ver6, but you can always do a backup and try. There are a lot of changes, check out the change log, this is probably the last release before a final version, but that won't be for a while, getting the voicemail fix integrated is gonna take some time. And I have a lot on my plate right now. It is always hard to stop tinkering, if it is bugging you then just get it over with, it's always better to have your phone run greater. :D I just spent an hour or so resetting my whole phone to Ver7, but I have to test it and make sure it works right also. I have removed a few apps in Ver7 and there is a bloat remover in the second post, you can strip this down to nothing but you loose features. I haven't and don't really plan on trying, but if you uninstall the Sharp launcher, people have stated that you will lose some functions. Hope this helps.

Thanks. I'm unclear what your first statement is intending to say, but I think you mean no noticeable difference. I actually have 2 ROMs released and about 5 others that I am working on. It's a juggling act right now. I'm getting confused about what can flash over what and which version it is. :D If I can get somebody to do some kernel work then I will go the hard route and rewrite the framework for one of the GB ROMs. Right now I'm still in research and development, but I will keep you in mind when I get something that is releasable.
 
Thanks, yes that helps a bunch. As my phone is working great, I wont mess with it now. You know what they say, if it aint broke, dont fix it. Thanks again for the reply and this great ROM.

Yeah, that happened to mine. Contact VM as your camera is unfortunately dead.

I just had an issue it is the new su not the super user app. I just installed the super user zip 3.0.7 then had to upgrade the app to get it to work, I'll put up a fix in a minute. Sorry.

Try using Titanium Backup to "Freeze" the Sharp Launcher. Freezing an app locks it away from the system but doesn't delete it so it is easy to "Thaw" it and bring it right back when you want to. Freeze it for a few days and you will know if it's okay.
 
Just updated the su file in Ver7 about 15 people got the bad su. Should be as easy as flashing the new zip, or replacing the su in system/bin with the one from any of the old versions. Sorry guys. This seems to be an issue with the new su file, it will work then it won't then sometimes with usb debugging it will work. I just enabled usb debugging and then rebooted and it worked fine for a while til next reboot and I tried to go straight in to titanium backup. But it should be fixed now, sorry again.

I flashed ver7 over ver6 and haven't had any problems. You shouldn't even have to do the voicemail fix again if you did it on ver6
 
Quick tip: If anyone wants to remove the boot animation quick and easy, download Blade Buddy in the Market. Under Advanced settings, disable bootanimation then Save and reboot. Gonezzzz ^_^

Just installed and did voicemail fix. Only issue is that vm notify icon does not go away in notification bar even after you check and delete voicemails.

Update: Voicemail notification icon went away after I received my first phone call.

My voicemail icon wemt away as soon as i deleted the message, im running ver. 7 clean install, not using voicemail fix yet. Honestly havent found any issyes yet.
 
AUDIO tweak built in or a bug?

hey bsyds i've been using your rom since V5 and have loved it. I just downloaded V7 and wanted to post a bug that actually enhances the phone!

I was playing some music, stock music player (not google play music), and randomly used the voice dailer app. The music stopped so that the mic could pick up what i was saying (normal behavior), then when it closed my music resumed with AMAZING BASS!! Its not even comparable to original, like 10000x better music coming out of the speakers, it sounds like surround sound with a deep bass! The only problem is if I increase the volume to the max, the bass really distorts the sound, but thats fine because its louder overall to begin with.

I am not sure if this is due to V7 but this never happened to me in V6. I'm a long time lurker but felt the urge to post this because it really changes the phone big time, sounds like some high quality speakers haha. V7 was a clean install, wiped dalvic, cache and data. I did restore some apps though with Ti Backup but I did not restore the voice dailer or music app. I am running adw launcher though with the ics theme, I not sure if that has anything to do with it. In any case, the speakers sounds sexy now! Headphone quality doesnt look like it changed though, so the voice dailer app did something to my speakers.


EDIT: The speakers return to its normal, tinny sound if i close out of the music app and start it again and dont launch the voice dailer app while the music is playing.

ALSO, this "tweak" also happens when you launch google voice search from the google search bar while music is playing, havent tried if it works with other music players, i only need the stock...

I figured out a few ways to get a lot of sound out of all of my phones, and it is free and easy. So, first back when I had my Intercept I was at work and we forgot the radio, so I put the phone in a plastic top from some spray foam, just like a spray paint cap. Made it twice as loud. Plus I have a few big cups from vacations on a shelf and they act like a megaphone when you put the phone in them. The sound doubles just by putting your hand straight, across the bottom of the back of the phone. I made an attachment for my Intercept from a water bottle cap with just less than half the edge cut out. If I'm sitting in a car I just put it in the cupholder. :D Probably why one of my nicknames is MacGyver. :D
 
Folks ive called today have had trouble hearing me after flashing v 7. Ill try a different rom and then fresh install.

I've had this happen twice after a new flash, out of hundreds of flashes. Out of second nature I hit the speakerphone button and then back and it was fine after that. But I haven't seen that in a while, like Ver2-4. It only happened once after flashing and getting a call just after first boot, both times. I don't think I changed anything that would mess with that. I didn't think anything about it cause I never saw anything posted about it. If others see the same thing I will look into it. If you have any more questions feel free to ask. Try turning on speaker phone in a call and also just try a reboot. Like I said I have only seen this twice out of hundreds of flashes on other versions. So it may just be a bad flash which you can just try reflashing the ROM or if it is what I experienced what I suggested worked both times. Hope this helps.
 
Do I have to install the GPS Fix zip or is it already built into ver7?

I installed Version 7 with a clean install. Everything is so far so good. I didn't know if I'd really like the dark theme of GB but I gotta say, I really like it. I restored my sharp launcher back up from ver6 with titanium backup and it only put my folders and shortcuts on, no wallpaper or widgets. No big deal though.

Some suggestions. A Triumph version complete with Triumph build prop and with the voicemail fix built in. I still have to do these.
