Root [ROM] Sleipnir v2.4.0.5 - 10/24/13 - VM & SPRINT

Thanks for the replies guys; Juice Defender is still installed as I believe it came with the rom, but I've never set it up nor used it. I don't encounter any battery issues with this at all; just either having to reset the GPS manually due to it "searching for GPS..." until I do, or sometimes (much less often) I get "GPS signal lost!" mid-route for some reason. It fixes after restarting the GPS each time, so it's not a huge issue, just slightly annoying. Any other ideas on things I might try?

My best suggestion is to 1, set up JuiceDefender, and 2, try clearing the cache and data for Maps through System Settings -> Manage Applications -> Google Maps, and in recovery clear the cache there as well. Also make sure that Maps is updated :)
 
Awesome ROM, this thing is super smooth and I love the barebones aspect! The Optimus Elite is a really awesome phone now, and I would say that it has a very similar feel to the Evo V that I was using minus the screen (gave it to my wife to stop her from going with an iPhone lol).

One question though...how to I go about getting the Google Talk / GChat app? I searched through this thread and it sounds like there is no gapps package (based on this post http://androidforums.com/elite-all-...-v2-4-0-02-19-13-vm-sprint-2.html#post5180457) that can be used with this ROM, so I am open to suggestions.

I believe I know why this is now, actually. There's two possibilities - the first, is an app that was removed. The second, may be that it has to do with the modified Settings.apk from the ICS Elite ROM, which IIRC Ktb83 modified, so only s/he would know why Activate doesn't work. I'll be testing apps to see if it's an app thing - starting with Settings.apk and replacing it with the stock one.

Just wanted to jump in real quick. I just got an elite yesterday (coming from optimus v that decided to stop charging all of a sudden). I rooted today and this was the first rom I decided to try. So far very nice, looks good, runs well, so far I'm very happy with it. So I guess I'm just saying, nice work.
 
Yeah, it resets when you reboot too. You would think it could at least give the option to remember in those situations. It's the only app with so much information available about what's happening on your phone that I've found so far though, so I've stuck with it.
 
Me again, having some issues, a couple video apps (veetle and crunchyroll) will start paying just fine then the video will just....stop and it won't play any further but YouTube works fine. Any ideas

Sounds like it might just be an issue with those apps, to be honest. Though rebooting into Recovery and wiping the /cache couldn't hurt either. That's all I can come up with for now, though.

It may be compatibility issues with the phone itself, I mean. This phone is rather picky and rather finicky both, so it could very well be either Sleipnir or the Apps, I'm not really sure at this point.
 
This probably has nothing to do with the ROM but does anyone know how to fix those twitter t.co links? Any time I click on a link it just opens up my browser and goes to the t.co link "web page not available" instead of the actual link. Tried different browsers and still no luck

Try going into System Settings -> Manage Applications -> Twitter and clear defaults, and your Browser and clear defaults. Next time you're prompted to open a t.co link, you should be prompted asking what you want to open the link with - Twitter, Browser, etc.
 
Ok so, about those two apps, clearing cache didn't help. They worked fine on tagged, stock and harmonia. Then I tried slepnir again and...it worked. Must have been a fluke.

So new question, is there a way of getting quick memo to work? I pulled the apk from harmonia, placed it into system/app and rebooted. It comes up but only says "this screen cannot be captured"

Any other future features you are looking to add now or is this pretty much it lol? I can't think of anything else besides CM7/CM10/CM10.1

*scarfs down Ramen* ... the only remaining features to implement, that I can think of currently, are just verifying that the build is stable, a fix for Activation under System Settings, updating the hosts file again, as well as the Superuser/SuperSU binary and the busybox binary, CM Swipe Notifications, and INT2EXT4, as well as a fix for large file transfers. And complete, no longer ad-hoc, init.d support. But that's about it - if anyone would like to pitch in some ideas (I may have forgotten some also just now, I apologize, I'm fairly tired after my first week at my new job and desperately need sleep - so what am I doing? Staying up, munching on Ramen, and playing the Tron Legacy soundtrack of course :D), I'd be more than happy to look into them.

Sleipnir is just about finished - it's near completion, and once it is complete as far as I'm concerned, Hydra will get a massive update to use the final Sleipnir build as its base, and, as is the purpose of Hydra, anyone is free to use that to build their own custom ROMs however they see fit, with all the benefits of Sleipnir - which, in turn, has all the benefits of
 
I think I mentioned this before but I was not able to make any changes to Hydra. I haven't tried in linux, just windows. It tells me "the archive is corrupt." I can make changes to Aeneas in windows.
