Root [ROM] Sleipnir v2.4.0.5 - 10/24/13 - VM & SPRINT

Oh! My bad, there should have been a third .apk. Here's the one you'll need to get it to sync/link to your gmail. Install the same way you did the others - place it in /system/app and reboot.

that definitely fixed the issue. now I'm back to snoozing and dismissing all my appointments like a boss.

Cause when I want to google something, Im one tap away from searching it. Now I have to open Opera Mini and wait for it to load up and then search. That face key is just quicker in my opinion. It took me a while to find it useful but now that it's gone, I miss it.

what about setting up a search widget in one of your screens? that would only be a swipe and a button away without loading said browser. just a thought. :)

I for one am ECSTATIC on the prospect of integrating the camera into the search key. To go further, is there any thought to adding a screenshot function as well? maybe tap for camera, long press for screenshot...
I actually used the quick memo quite a bit, and throwing this in would be amazing.
I've also noticed some great battery life despite amping up the processor. It seems to stay on 100% on bright for a good 45 minutes before starting to drop.

Glad to hear it!

And again, the new build is up. And yes, there is plenty of thought to adding long-press for screenshot. As soon as I figure out how, I will implement it. There will soon be a name change for the entire ROM mix soon, from

Man, I still can't download this thing. Anyone have suggestions on how to get rid of the "Download unsuccessful" message?

What is new with v1.7.2_P? Can you also add a change log section to your thread?

The changes have been detailed over the posts, and the original post has been overhauled to include a full list of everything included. New posts will mark new updates, and I may include them back into the original post as I used to do with each build version. Now that it is a mix, it's a tad more difficult but I'll elaborate on the changes from 1.7.2 to 1.7.2_P. The P is for Public, meaning calculator, calendar, and camera are all included with their appropriate apps. Additionally, the capacitive search button has been modified to act as a camera button instead. Also, the Volume keys should not wake up the phone anymore when pressed, if the phone is asleep.

In other words: not much. A few posts up, though, and I had mentioned these changes already. But I'm working on re-implementing a new changelog.

... try downloading to another computer, then transferring it to your phone via the hard microUSB to USB cable? I've mirrored the upload on SendSpace as well, have you tried both SS and MediaFire?

I have had issues downloading roms on my handset before as well. I just tried different browsers until one saved it correctly. try either dolphin hd or opera.

the responsiveness or as artine likes to say "zippiness", is unparalleled. I am wondering about cutting down my reboot time. The initial boot-up was crazy fast, but now it's around 2.2 minutes. Is that just how many apps I've got installed?

try using a different browser..
was not able to download anything with the stock browser
..the dolphin browswer downloads fine

You guys need to read posts more. 3 of you quoted the guy who couldn't download it all telling him what browser to use.

Only complaints i have with this build are the fact that the camera app (i don't know why, it was actually in /system/app) was not showing up in the application list and that your re-mapping of the search key doesn't work properly. the camera app i was able to fix relatively easily, i just replaced it with an apk from a different ROM. the keymap, however, i haven't figured out.

Help a noob out here. If I flashing over from Hashtag's Tagged[customrom], would I have to wipe anything?

Give Artines ROM a shot. The link is on the first page of this thread.

Boot into recovery
Wipe cache partition
Advance>wipe dalvik cache
Format system
Format data
Flash rom.
Reboot and cross your fingers.

I almost wonder if post-flash, enabling non-market or unknown-source apps would fix the camera app not showing up. It was modified, so that could help. Thanks for the feedback on the keymapping, though, as well.

Alternatively, instead of formatting system and data, one could flash Leslie Ann's .zip called New_ROM_Elite, which does that part for you. That's what I do, anyway, so it's just food for thought.

Did you include punes kernel in this ROM? I flashed it afterwards regardless. But if it's possible to include it, why not? Just a thought.

I considered giving it a try. It would certainly be faster. But, it all honesty, I don't mind doing it myself. To each his own. :)

Of course. His most recent one, in fact.

And actually, when I flash a new ROM, I do things recursively just to be sure: Wipe Cache, Wipe Dalvik, Factory Reset/Wipe, Format Data, Format System, Flash New_ROM_Elite.zip, then flash the ROM. This is more out of habit though, because of secure deletion in the Windows environment - recursive overwriting securely (or at least greatly increases the chance that it's secure) deletes data. By no means does anyone else have to do this.

This ROM is using Hashtag's Tagged ROM as it's base; everything else is built on top of that or modifying it. There's been reports that this ROM mix is faster - it's a fusion of
