I'm waiting lol.
So far, so good. I like the status bar.
And thank you for the pre installed apks. However, the remapping of the camera button still isn't working.
I like it, Artine. Keep us the awesome work!
Artine a suggestion to instead of remapping the Search key itself, how about rewriting the Camera app to add functionality to itself in HOLDING the search key allowing to set as default to go to the camera? Kinda like what you can do with screenshot apps and apps like Apple's Siri
The mms.apk has lost the color for the background of messages. Not sure if thia was intended or not
What all do I need to install to get my search button working like normal?
I installed GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk and com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox.apk and still nothing.
Considering it is remapped, it is irrelevant what apk you add back in - it won't perform the search function because that function is no longer tied to the button.
Also, I'll post what I've got here shortly. I have no idea what on earth is wrong with the status bar header nor the notifications divider - sometimes clearing the dalvik cache helps, sometimes not and those two remain completely black. I have no idea why, and this happens on the same install. It's maddening.
EDIT: Sleipnir 2.0.4 can be downloaded from Mediafire | SendSpace
Alright, what about quickmemo?
If you want, you can add that in manually. Otherwise, it's nearly bloat. It will not be added, therefore. Perhaps on an alternate version like what Hashtag has done with both Slim and "Full" editions, but as of right now Quickmemo is not planned to be included. This may change in the future, as all things do, however. But I can upload the .apk for it here and you can feel free to add it in if you'd like.
Note that this is essentially the same reason why most gapps were removed. Not everyone uses them, so the goal is to provide a very clean, bloat-free and non-essentials-free ROM, and anyone who uses gapps or, for example, QuickMemo, is able to add it in manually. But it's easier to add than to remove.
Did you put it in /system/app/ and did you set proper permissions?
